Upon questioning, John froze up - he was being questioned, and didn't quite know how to respond! Also, running through the rain was making him feel sick!

However, mightily and heroically, John was able to prevent the loss of bladder control that his body suddenly requested completely before turning and heroically dashing into the night, to find another place where he would be ignored in safety to work on his heroic introductions!

Before he could respond to the obvious question, the blue child ran out the door, seemingly doing what could only be called the “I have to pee” dance.

That actually happened.

Wiping the event from his mind entirely, Mihamaru then looked to Sengoku. ”You said something to me the first day I met you. Something to the effect of ‘a good bartender never says anything about themselves, but is always listening.’ You never asked where I lived, or frankly, anything about me. I never felt it was important enough to mention it anyway.” While discussing his secretive tendencies, Mihamaru fidgets in his chair a bit before figuring out why he can’t get comfortable, his torch was riding up his back.

Immediately, he pulls the torch out from behind his back, and starts flipping it in front of him while sitting down. ”Besides, I always figured those were available for customers. I just figured no one took it because they don’t know how serious we are about those threats to turn ill-behaved customers into the food.”

Sengoku vaguely remembered that particular conversation. "You make most of those threats, not me." Sengoku drank a bit more and grimaced. "No one rents those rooms because I live up there. The tavern is my home, not a inn. They're not for rent, normally. I make special exceptions to employees who have proven themselves trustworthy." He poured another drink for himself and glanced upwards for a moment. "Er...now that I think about it, I never did get the last guy's blood out of the floor boards." he snorted and shook his head. "Taught that son of a bitch to steal from the till..."

Employees who have proven themselves trustworthy? Does that mean he’s finally graduated from part timer? Rather than harp on the whole “blood out of the floorboards” and “bastard stealing from the till”, which Mihamaru has more or less grown to accept in the year he’s been working, he takes the glass, and gulps the entire thing in one shot, as a form of celebration for his new home. ”I think I’ll take you up on that offer. How about we take a look, yeah?” Before waiting for an answer, or for Sengoku to even comment or leave his chair, Mihamaru bolts up from his chair, and heads upstairs, hopefully to lay claim to a decent room.

Maybe he shouldn’t have downed that glass at once.

Sengoku downed his glass as well, stashing the bottle down under the counter as Miha dashed off to claim a room. He smirked a bit and shook his head. "Sodding kid..." He felt a soft touch on his hand and looked down, having forgotten about the puppy, which was now licking his hand with a soft, pink tongue. He chuckled a bit and ruffled the little dog's ears, causing it to yip playfully and wiggle its tail. "Well, are you staying too? I don't allow layabouts here; You'll have to earn your keep." The puppy sat back on his haunches and gave Sengoku a very somber, serious look, as if it were saying 'yes sir' and saluting. He laughed again and backed away from the counter. "All right, you little shit. You can stay too. You'll need a name though, and shit-head seems a bit rude. How about Haiiro?" The pup whined and tilted its head, then hopped down to the floor with a little thud. "Haiiro works then? Good. Stay out from underfoot." He went about his business, finishing the cleaning and flipping the chairs up onto the table, then he too went up stairs to retire for the night.
