The female's voice grew louder and more clear, Brain was now able to understand what she was saying but he still could not put a face to the voice, being that his vision was obscured from where Sumei had entered from. As the man feels the tension in his chest beginning to fully unwind, yet again another voice is heard. A male this time. Brain groans rather loudly as Yoshiya says the word's "Shinigami" in response to the female's inquiry and the background of this groan was based moreso on despair rather than pain. It must've been several years since he's seen one of them, and he still wasn't ready to see another. Let alone two. But what could he do? Without a proper breathing pace, it would be nearly impossible to get up and leave unnoticed so he merely sits there, regretting his pointless groan.
"Maybe I'm not cut to survive out here in the Second. What a pansy-ass.." Brain says to himself.

[bgcolor=555555] "Yes," Sumie said, drawing the word out. Her eyes had narrowed somewhat as she watched Yoshiya. It was possible she was mistaken, though with her unique gift it was very unlikely, but the way he addressed her and the flare had planted doubt in her mind. It required further investigation, but the call from across the way announced the presence of yet another person.
Sumie didn't trust Yoshiya to not disappear with the way he had tried to hurry off before, so to address the new arrival, her body pivoted out to the right so she could keep an eye on him in her peripheral. "Stay," she ordered, though she had no authority over Yoshiya before responding to Zane. "Someone needs medical attention. What division are you from?"
He was still a bit too far for Sumie to make out the insignia that would mark his division. If she was lucky, he would be from the Second and they wouldn't have to send for medical help, but Fifth or First would work too. A member of the Fifth would know if and where a member of the Second assigned to take care of the Fifth Division patrol unit's injuries would be while a member of the First could send off a hell butterfly requesting further aid, because Sumie was far from a medical expert. Even so, she needed to get a handle on the situation quickly so she could do what little she could for whomever was laying out of view.

Zane stopped at Sumie's side, huffing to catch his breath from his jog. It took him a minute before he could catch his breath and answer her, "I am Zane Grinpiers. Unseated from the First Division, Ma'am", He began to instantly wonder if he actually need to address her in such a fashion, but given his rank, it was unlikely she didn't outrank him. He coughed slightly into his hand, waiting for instructions from her, if she had any.

Yoshiya moved closer to Brain, and sat on the border of the thicket, far away enough from Brain that he would hopefully not cause much anxiety, but in a position where the two Shinigami could see his back.
He would have to wait this one out. With his bulk, he doubted he could outrun either of them. He was built for distance, not for speed.
Things were looking bad.

"Shinigami," a voice calls from behind a thicket of bushes, "Get me water..-" he pauses in between wheezes for a brief second, "-.. from the stream, please." Water that they had on their person would do just fine as well, but because all he needed was liquid to refresh his drying up body, he would take water from anywhere at this point. Even a puddle. Brain bends his knees and firmly plants his feet in the ground while at the same time pressing against the tree to slide back up it. He curses to himself under his breath as he struggles to erect his posture. Once having got about half away into position, he was now visible to them as they were to him and when reaching the full lean, he casts his gaze over to catch a look at Sumei and Zane's faces. When Sumei and or Zane would look to Brain, they would see a man in dirtied cloth, bearing a wore down facial expression and he had this thick coat of sweat still about him that could be easily mistaken as the water from the stream that Sumei followed.

[bgcolor=555555] "Excellent. I'll assume you've been taught how to use hell butterflies. Please send a message to the Second Division requesting aid at the behest of the Third Division Fukutaichou." Given the details that Yoshiya had provided there were two obvious possible causes, though heat-stroke was more likely than food-poisoning as most fish could be eaten raw if not spoiled and if they were catching fresh fish it couldn't have been spoiled, but Sumie knew not of the man's medical history so there could have been underlying causes like allergies or something else besides the apparent. "Add that the situation is probably not immediately life threatening, but to bring supplies for possible food poisoning and heat-stroke."
Sumie had put off responding to the ill who's request she had heard prior to instructing Zane on what to do, but had put off replying for a couple of reasons. The first was that getting a message to the right people was essential. Sumie knew basic common sense things and could put together details with the best of them; that was why she was the Fukutaichou of the Third Division after all. The second reason was perhaps less apparent though more of an issue at the present time; she lacked anything in which to transport water from the stream to the man.
Unlike with Yoshiya, Sumie didn't feel any pressing qualms about turning her back upon Zane to address others. There was always a certain amount of trust between Shinigami because of their deep rooted connections in Seireitei even if they didn't know each other on a personal level. Honor and duty, to put it simply. Of course there were exceptions, but Sumie was rarely paranoid without cause when it came to her coworkers. Granted, many of them did end up giving her cause, but that was not a matter that needed addressed at the present.
Sumie turned back to face Yoshiya and the other man's general area and strode forward toward Yoshiya. Given that there was some urgency to tending to the fallen, she spoke as she walked. "I don't suppose you have anything to carry water in?" Her eyes shifted downward to Brain. "Or you? I don't carry anything with me on these trips." She could use the natural surroundings to create a makeshift container of sorts, but it would take longer than they had so it wasn't really any option, though there was another. "But I suppose if neither of you do, we could work together to move him to the riverside." By we, she of course meant herself and Yoshiya whom she had yet to finish questioning.

Zane nodded in response to Sumie's question about him knowing of the First Division's skill with Hell Butterflies. Although he often wondered why someone of his rank would be taught the skill, he nevertheless was aware of how to use it. Just as he was about to construct the Butterfly with Sumie's message he was instantly drawn back by her rank, "F-Fukutaichou?", He opened muttered, hoping she wouldn't actually pick up on his rambles. He had been with the Gotei for an extremely short amount of time and their Soutaichou was the only person he was accompanied to knowing. He seemed nice enough, at least to Zane, but maybe this woman wasn't? Maybe she was mean, but she did SEEM nice enough.
Zane shook the negative thoughts that clouded his mind and began to focus his Reiatsu in his hand. As he concentrated on the Second Division barracks and the message he wished to send to them, he could be seen visibly, but inaudibly speaking the message. The Reiatsu formed into a small, black-colored Butterfly that stood in Zane's hand, "Bring us some help.." , He murmured before releasing it into the air. He then shifted to face where the other three were present, "Anything else I can do?!", He shouted toward Sumie.

Whilst Sumie had delayed, Yoshiya had not. He did not have anyone to report to, so he could act. That, and he was closer. " The life of yourself or that of a stranger. Both are essentially worthless." Feh, if he were to be arrested and dragged back to Seireitei, then that was to be his fate. Duty was the mark of a man, and he would be a man. Images of his past filled his mind. His failure. The overbearingness of Kurisuna as her motherly nature was a constant interference. Of others when he took ill. The Rukons, coming back to the Shinigami, tails between their legs. The Shinigami guarding only their interests. The brutality of the Hollow. The crime in the Rukongai. The world was doomed to its own destruction. It was inevitable, what with humans being the pitiful creatures they were. " So be it." Yoshiya was consumed with nearly seventeen centuries of hate. So what if he was recognised? So what if he had left the third? He would hold his head high this day. The man removed the belt and undid the clasp on Yggdrasil's pouch. She was eating away happily. He stood up and removed his cloak, draping it over his shoulder, marching towards the river. " Brain, get back, stay in the shade." About midway on his journey Sumie's words reached him. He stopped and turned to her, his brow covered with fury. " Miss Natsukoi, I believe it unwise to remove the subject from the shade. If it is essential to do so I recommend creating some sort of make-shift shelter. I believe we can construct a make-shift tent with my cloak and some of the wood in the vicinity. Alternatively I could transport water with my cloak, however it is neither watertight, nor particularly clean.
Your call." He stood, glaring at the woman, impatiently awaiting her answer.

Brain remains leaning against the tree, his gaze shifting into a glare as they did not bother to ask him anything. They were obviously not from a medical division because from either the symptoms assumed, the afflicted one would subjected to fainting, and so it would be most wise to keep talking to them to make sure they were aware of their general surroundings. But alas what good would glaring do, he needed to relax and so with a deep breath, he closes his eyes and presses the back his head to the tree, hoping to like crazy Yoshiya was getting him some water. That's all he needs, and he would be able to start recovering. As he tries to relax and remain standing, he overhears Yoshiya suggestion for making shelter and while Brain would have loved to put his two cents in, he was without the proper voice to do so.
"These people people are overreacting...... but they are kind,"

[bgcolor=555555] Sumie quirked a brow at what seemed like a rather illogical mood shift coming from Yoshiya. She was not a mind reader and therefore did not know what transpired behind the unpleasant mask his face had turned into during the short span of time between addressing Zane then addressing him. Instead of replying to the aforementioned Shinigami, she waved Zane down with her right hand, her left placing itself on her hip as she kept her gaze now fully on Yoshiya, Brain somewhat forgotten.
"So I do know you," was all she said at first as he had addressed her by her surname without Sumie having given it. She still couldn't recall his name nor the last time she had seen him. The flare and the lack of zanpakutou indicated he had been living amongst the Rukon Citizens for years. It made sense, plenty of people had left during the split. Some still left even now if they sought the proper release just as some of those from the Rukongai joined the Shinigami. Still, that didn't account for the attitude.
"Anyways," she said, moving on though irritation had crept into her tone because of the hostile vibes Yoshiya was giving off. "I never said it was wise to move him, but if there was not a manner of transporting water to him, there wouldn't have been an option, now would there? That is why I asked. Acting snotty isn't going to help the man though, so if there is something you can do, then do it. Zane-kun and I will try to make him more comfortable in the meantime."
Kurisuna didn't become 'overbearing' until 1613 n.w when her children were slaughtered by Hollow, well after Yoshiya would have left Seireitei.

Zane stood there for several moments, moving from one foot to the other as he awaited an answer from the woman. He suddenly caught glance of her hand waving him to her and he strode over to where the trio was, stopping at Sumie's right side when he got over to them. By the time he actually reached them, however, he only caught the ass end of their conversion, "Zane-kun and I will try to make him more comfortable in the meantime"What did she mean by that? THEY were going to make this guy comfortable? Did she even actually know what was wrong with the man? Zane huffed and nodded his head lightly, "Whatever the lady Fukutaichou requests, I will assist.", He said with a light huff.

Yoshiya continued to the bank as Sumie responded, stopping only briefly to pick up a round, rough stone. He made it to the bank and bent down, draping his cloak in the stream, giving it a vigorous and brief scrub, hoping to shake off some of the looser dirt. It was the best shot they had, since her Ladyship had not given him any alternatives, or even offered a judgement on what his cloak should be used for.
"Why did I send a flare? She's doing more harm than good."
With obvious irritation he spoke.
"My dear lady, you are right, being snotty isn't going to help him," his emphasis making it obvious that he considered Sumie to be the snotty one. "As such I am doing something. I asked your judgement on what I am doing. But not receiving an answer I shall exercise my freedoms as a citizen of this forsaken land. Or at least, perceived freedom."
He continued scrubbing. Whilst not clean by any stretch of the imagination, it certainly was cleaner.
"You said you know me. Peh. What is it to know someone? Even if you did, your unsureness would suggest whoever it is, you have not seen them for quite some time. Would they be the same person as they were when you last saw them? This is not even considering that I am real. Our senses deceive us. Who is not to say that this world is a deceit? A work of fiction inside your mind?"
Yoshiya shot a glare and folded the ends of the cloak together underwater, forming a sack full of water.
"If you or your colleague are hungry there's still fish in the left hip pocket of my belt. All I as is that you leave one for myself, I haven't ate yet."
With that he hoisted the sack onto his shoulder and marched back to Brain, water leaking out of the sack at an impressive rate.

Brain cracks an eyes open to peer over at Yoshiya who he had presumed was gathering water. Brain raises an eye brow as he notices the man fold and change his cloak into a makeshift water container. Yoshiya was pretty crafty and Brain had to give that much to him. As he watches Yoshiya make way with the water, Brain feels the saliva starting to return to his dried up mouth. it was overwhelming him to have such a dried out feeling in his body so he began to step off from against the tree and out of what little of the receded shade was left. The sun rays intensely bear down upon the man, but through determination he is able to keep his stagger going. Should either of them make an attempt to stop him, he would ignore them an persist onward. Because he was, in a sense, already recovering. He had managed to build up some amount of energy while against the tree. He meets Yoshiya halfway, stopping in another patch of shade more further down the way that had been formed by the sun's shifting position within the sky. The shade was being cast off this thicket of trees down closer to the stream. When getting a little bit more energy from there as well as a bit of water, he would then again attempt to make it to the lake itself which was five minutes up the way. Seven in his condition.
He appreciated the effort these people were going through, the lengths they going to help one old man out in the wild, but boy was he far to stubborn to admit, or reveal his thankfulness. There would be only one thing in this life that is able to wear him down, and it is time. Maybe he didn't think much of these people now, but they sure could mean something in the future. Hell, that Sumie lady could probably turn out to be his Fukutaicho, this much he thought because when having had looked into Divisions before his departure, it was the Third he had most preferred.

[bgcolor=555555] Sumie let the man huff and puff away, but she had already taken Zane by the arm and turned around to head toward Brain. That didn't mean she didn't hear what he was saying or ignoring it, but she wasn't going to draw out a pointless argument for Yoshiya was clearly presenting himself as one of those types who made everything out to be a bigger issue than it truly was. Or he was being defensive. Given that he was not the injured party or being presented with hostility, Sumie found it odd and wondered what there was to be defensive over. Perhaps he was hiding something. Or he had just adopted the standard Rukon attitude.
Once he finished complaining, Sumie called back, "Why don't you just use your belt, then?" If it was leather, as it appeared to be when she had gotten a glimpse of it, and had pouches, it would hold water better than the cloak. As the inside of the pouches had less contact with the outside environment, it was also likely to be a lot cleaner. It's what Sumie would do in his position; if taking care of her own needs, she would have searched for broad leaves to cup the water if she couldn't just drink from the stream itself. Centuries under Kurisuna had left her with a working knowledge of what was safe and usable and what was poisonous and unusable.
Progress toward Brain was halted as he was coming in their direction as Sumie and Zane would be in between him and Yoshiya. The woman sighed. People were so stubborn. "You should really sit in the shade and relax. If you need anything else while we wait for the medics, we can get it for you." Her tone was far more gentle than when she had been speaking to Yoshiya though she was mildly annoyed that Brain wasn't staying in place. "Maybe you could tell us a little more about what's wrong?"

Zane soon found himself forcefully dragged by the arm toward the man who they were apparently trying to help. What the hell was going on here? He had never met this woman prior to this engagement and here she was grabbing his arm and pulling him about. Granted, it wasn't like she put a vice grip on his arm and dragged him like a brute, but it was still kind of odd for the woman to be doing. If he had to compare it to anything, honestly, it was like a mother trying to rush their child or a person rushing their lover. Light, but still firm and odd as hell considering he was a complete stranger to her.
Zane shook his head slightly, "Over-thinking this way too much.", He murmured to himself, hoping Sumie wouldn't call him on that mumbles. Zane stopped where Sumie released him, staged at her right and between Yoshiya and Brain, he being closer to the latter. Zane released a low sigh as the feeling of a brawl bursting out grew ever closer, but maybe that was just him being paranoid.

He was hurrying, without much time to chat. Water was spilling out, and fast. Annoyingly, yet usefully, he did meet Brain halfway.
"Drink up whilst there's still water."
Holding the sack in front of Brain, hoping he could reach it, he replied to his former Fukutaichou.
"That could work, but I doubt they would be much cleaner." This was true, he did use them to hold things, and those things wern't always clean. "They're not built to be watertight either. Feel free to use it, the pouches are removable. I'd recommend the left rear pocket, it gets the least use. Just leave the left hip and the front right pockets."
He rather not have Yggdrasil's pouch soaked.
He yelled to Zane.
"Hey! You couldn't help me stretch this out a bit?" Hopefully it would give a shallower area for Brain to drink from, if he couldn't reach the water in its tucked up state.

[bgcolor=555555] While Brain's initial state had been of panic, it was obvious that the heat was taking its toll on his already weakened body. Brain leaned forward to partake of water, but the world shifted and he fell backward instead, passed out cold. Or rather, hot.
[Brain exit]
"There isn't much point now," Sumie remarked with a shrug as Yoshiya struggled with his burden. She did wonder how pouches of leather that could hold water better than a hole filled cloak were much of any use and hadn't fallen apart already, but that wasn't her problem. Neither was assisting as the man had asked for Zane's help. Perhaps now he'd stop mumbling. Kiba would have probably smacked him every time he mumbled, but Sumie was content to ignore it. If someone wanted to be heard, they'd speak up, not that she hadn't heard what he was saying.
There were more important things to react to though as the situation turned from tense to something worse as Brain fainted. Sumie had spotted the shift in position as it happened and she was quick to respond. Had the woman had shunpo at the time it would have been easier, but she made due with her speed as it was since she was not all that far from Brain to begin with. He had made that possible by making his way to Yoshiya previously. Regardless of how Sumie got there, she did, catching the man before his head hit the ground. Of course, Sumie wasn't all that physically strong at the time and almost two hundred pounds of deadweight coming down wasn't easily dealt with, at least by her, so she fell backward too, but only onto her backside and still managing to cushion to blow for Brain whom she eased off of her with a grunt.
"I think we should get him back into the shade while we wait for the medics."
Brain exited as per the activity rules. Points will be halved upon thread completion. [ link]

Zane simply rolled his eyes as Yoshiya yelled at him, who the hell was this guy to order him around? Zane shrugged, sure the Third's Fukutaicho would order him to help out the man. After all, they were here to assist. Zane strode over to assist Yoshiya when he heard Brain and Sumie collapse to the ground and sighed once more, looking at her and then to the man. Zane spun on his heels and jogged over to Sumie, crouching down and lifting Brain's body enough that she could at least get off the ground, "My apologies, Natsukoi-Fukutaicho. I should've assisted you. I will try to be less careless next time, Ma'am." , Zane said, not exactly wanting to say that, but she was his superior and it was his duty to help her first. Besides that, Brain was the one needing assistance, not Yoshiya.
Zane looked over his shoulder, "Do you still require assistance for such an easy task or can I focus on helping this man?", He called to Yoshiya. This man was starting to actually get on Zane's nerves which wasn't actually an easy task as Zane had mellowed out for the most part. Zane's gaze then shifted back to Sumie, wondering why she hadn't said anything to him about his behavior, finding it curious.

They finally did SOMETHING. The two Shinigami finally did something other than talk and run about and yell at Yoshiya.
Yet they still yelled at him, their condescending glances. Every time the man tried to be sociable, it turned out badly. Not just here. Every. Single. Time. Every time he reached out, he was reaffirmed in his detest for humanity.
Reaffirmed in leaving the Shinigami, their high and mightiness. The Rukons were mere slaves to them, feeding their lifestyle. They were just a proletariat. The Shinigami were just defending the production centres. That was their only purpose.
The man had enough of socialising, so he dumped the water, bundled up Yggdrasil, put on his belt, then made for home in a soaking cloak.
Alone. That is what he needed.

" Watch after him; I'll go see if I can find some help." Sumie stated after a few moments, turning and without a word to be spoken to the otherwise, began jogging to find some medicinal assistance - within an hour, representatives from the Second Division were on the scene, thanking Zane for his assistance as they began to care for Brain, thus ending the day's excursion. Sumie exited per the activity rules, Point gain will be halved, thread ended, points to be awarded shortly.
