Here he was...the 4th District. During his whole life, through-out his Shinigami career, and even during his time of absence from Soul Society and his life in the Rukongai, he never had gotten this far. It was considered a dangerous endeavor by the optimists, and a pretty much suicidal journey by most. And yet here he was, leading an expedition into the depth of the Borderland, a season Fukutaicho of the 2nd Division. How lucky for him indeed.
It was a somewhat surprising decision to put him in charge of the expedition. He was for all intents and purposes a healer. Though the task of their group was also fitting that nature. They had received numerous reports about a larger group of people settled here, and two days ago they received a message, talking about some sickness spreading amongst the populous of the group. Scouts managed to confirm the location of said. His task was to inspect and apply aid if it was needed, and ideally get the people to move out of the god forsaken space.
He wasn't alone of course. He was leading a group compromised of several members of various divisions, mainly of the 5th and 1st, around 20 people strong. They were prepared to face some kind of opposition. The problem was that within the borderlands, you never knew what kind of opposition you would face. So they needed to be hasty. Still, he tried to keep his own spirits up. It was a very responsible task of course, but he was used to responsibility as a medic, and being the second in command, he needed to learn how to manage larger group's of people. So far the trek through the districts was smooth, hopefully it would stay that way.
Being in the lead of the group, he would turn around his head and say "Alright everyone, were nearing the location of the group. Remember, the people here are weak from sickness, but still might be hostile to the idea to moving back to the earlier districts, for some ill-thought reason. Be cautious, but not to jumpy. Hopefully we wont need to practice our sword play today" he said with a chuckle, grinning wide at his companions as they moved on. He truly hoped there wouldn't be much in terms of complications...then again, if there was one thing you could expect blind, was simply that.

The area was rather rundown. The population was however large, and the area that the Shinigami were now treading was littered over with standing houses. Of course, most of the houses had extensive damages, some without even a roof over the head. It was rather dark and shady, this area of the Rukongai. If anything, it was considerably less than inhabitable. But with each step the Shinigami gave, the more heads popped up. Sooner or later, Harupia and his group were outnumbered three to one. And what looked worse was, these citizens were armed both with weaponry and spiteful glares. Looking as if they could literally just snap and attack at any moment.
"We call for help, and this is your response time?!" a hoarse voice manages to raise from the crowd.
A rotten tomato, flung fromthe depth of the crowd is flung in direction of Harupia, "Good for nothing, Shinigami! The lot of you!"
Admist the growing complaints curls outward a loud, stern voice of recognition. It was Brain, and in his bellow he commands, "PEOPLE, make way for them. They WILL save who is left."
The accumulated number of filthy individuals part their formation so the Shinigami could continue on their way. At the end of the crowd stood a hooded man, the only visible part of his face being the beard and mouth. He greets Harupia, saying, "I was the one who called for the Shinigami aid. We have a few people requiring treatment.. unfortunately, others could not hold out and passed away before your arrival. We must make haste, less we wish to upset these people further."
"The building where I have instructed to keep the ill is just up ahead. I suggest setting up a perimeter around the area. the settlement is fresh and attacks on the location are frequent." he says while leading the way toward said building containing the ill.

With much dread and an expression of disgust and concern, Zane walked through the Fourth District with a large team of Shinigami lead by the Second Division's Fukutaichou, Harupia. Zane had briefly spoken with the man prior to their departure and, from what little conversation they had, Zane was fond of the man. He seemed to be a genuinely kind person, even now when the Rukongai were booing them back to where they had come from. When the tomato had been thrown, Zane noticed and moved into the pathway of it, his hand swiftly moving back to grip the hilt of his zanpakuto at his hip. Without missing a beat, Zane's body spun around in a complete one eighty and the katana was removed from it's sheathe and swung upward in a reverse-grip swing.
This depleted most of the strength behind Zane's slash, but it was still more than enough to effortlessly slice the rotten vegetable in half before it reached Harupia. Zane lowered his Zanpakuto, sliding it back into it's sheathe before he calmly addressed the Rukongai Citizens, "We apologize for our untimely arrival, but please keep a level head so that we may assist you. Violence will not help your fallen comrades any."

Hmm...his mind just couldn't fathom how these people decided this was a better way to live. Most of the houses were pretty much ruined...and the people who came out looked rather malnourished and exhausted. All baterd, dirty and tired...yet they still had enough strength to throw insults, and apparently rotten fruit at him. He was quite surprise by the swift motion Zane preformed in his defense. With a slight smile he said "Thank you Zane-san, a swift arm you have there..." as they moved on, led by one of the male's who didn't seem hellbent on antagonizing them.
This all boggled his mind. He tried to be sympathetic but...these people asked for it. It took a long time to move from the city to this place. It was their choice to move to this place, to live in the far reaches of the Rukongai, away from any aid, any proper facilities... at least as far as he understood. In his years he had met only people who had a sense of solidarity among them. Then again,he only saw a small portion of it...still, it just baffled him continuously, why they would prefer to stay here rather then move somewhere safe...
As they cam to the elder of the rag-tag village, or at least a person of some authority. He would give him a respectful bow as he explained the situation before saying "That's sounds like a reasonable plan. Men from the 2nd Division, move in with me. Zane-san, stand by the door so you can see both us and the outside. The rest of you, take up positions around the building, and if any Hollow appears... well, we've all been through the academy, so we know what to do" he said with a smile before heading into the building with the sickly.
As he looked around the people there he would ask "How long has the sickness been spreading? Is it contagious? What caused it? And just out of curiosity...why do all of you endanger yourself so living in this area?" he finally asked turning tot he bearded men, his gaze clearly baffled by the entire situation. The Shinigmai under his command moving carefully to the wounded and sick, trying to asses what was their state.

The tomato which came slushing downward in it's descent was stricken and halted in it's path by that of a Shinigami blade. The nasty smelling glob of tomato, which barely was intact, gushes outward and over in the direction of Zane at pointblank range.
Brain already identified the highest ranking officer among the group and being that it wasn't the one whom just dirtied their blade with rotten fruit, he ignores the action and continues addressing Harupia, "I have been studying these people, and the illness they have. It is contagious, though not through the air, and I have tracked it back to the source. Once curing these six men, two women and three children, these people will need worry not. What I have derived from my studies is that these people are suffering from a toxic reishi sickness. They obtained it through consumption of tainted meat, it was the meat of a Hollow. It turns out one of their vendors took their poverty as a chance to cash in on pocket change and so he sold them worthless stock."
He sighs softly and leads Harupia over to one of the more sicker of the group, "You will see here that these two women are of the most ill. Judging by the time of death of the others, I give these two another six to eight hours. You will need to transport them back, because extensive surgery to extract the toxins is required." Brain removes his hood, revealing his face to the Shinigami. Unlike in his current form, at this point in time Brain's beard was barely forming, and he had thick, but short, hair. He definitely looked twenty years younger too. "Too answer your last concern, I do not choose where these people live. I am only a voice that they have grown soft for. I am nothing more than a muse for these people, if you wish to learn of their living situations further, you will need to ask them yourself."

Zane simply and silently brushed the remains of the tomato from his uniform, never minding the stench. The whole incident was worth it to keep the respectful fukutaichou from being pelted with the rotted produce. What a wasteful and unkind thing for them to do. Zane's thoughts circled around the irony of the Rukon's Citizens wanting their help and going as far as to complain about it only to turn around and throw produce at them and boo them away? How bizarre this group had turned out to be. Zane shook his head to removed the thoughts clouding his mind and nodded lightly as Haru addressed him, following quietly behind the man.
"As you desire, Hitoshi-Fukutaichou.", Zane stated as he bowed to the man and took up his position in the doorway. His right hand clutched at the hilt of his Zanpakuto and his head shifted from in front of him to behind him every couple of minutes, keeping a look out for any issues that may occur.

Harupia felt a bit bad about the tomato splattering across Zane's uniform...he had to remember to refund him the cleaning for it once they were back in he city. In the meantime, as he stood on his guard, he listened to the other men answer his questions. So, these were the last sick left...at least it didn't spread. Eating Hollow meat...that sounded quite nasty. And as he remember from his lessons, was the last option you should ever consider...he could see why now...
Stepping closer to the two women, he would sit down next to them saying "Agreed. But before we can take them back I want to at least stop the spread...I need to do something to get them back alive...assuming the others will let me do that...You say you are a muse to them...So why are you here?" he asked, while his hands started to hover of one of the girls, green Reaitsu emanating from them.He would find the tainted fluids and try to purge them out of her most important organs, so they could survive the way home. The other medics attempted to do the same with some of the other patients.
As the Shinigami held their parameter outside, all seemed calm. And yet, some of them couldn't help but to feel as if they were being watched... a sentiment which was quite true, a set of crimson eyes peering at them from the woods...moving closer and closer to the settlement in a silent way. Waiting for the moment to strike.

"I have only scratched the surface of the medical world, so I do not know the proper medical supplies required to stop the infection. I have been trying various herbal remedies but they have all failed." Brain pauses momentarily and walks over to a seat near one of the sick patients. He plops down with another sigh, staring at the ground. For a few seconds he just stared at the dirty floor before he came to with an answer to the later portion of Harupia's reply, "I'm here because only a fool travels these lands by themselves. You can sort of say I'm using them as a shield to guard my own life. It is cruel, but such is the way of this life."
As Brain was conversing with Harupia, a shriek belonging to a feathered-Hollow screeches down upon the site from skyward. It's tone carried by a thick coating of reiatsu in which amplifies it's pitch and impact. Literally waves of sound, complimented in reiatsu rain down on the area, impacting the ground with pot-shot aim. Truly, whatever menacing Hollow that was firing down on these people must've been blind. Wait no, it was blind. High in the sky, flutters about a white-masked bat.
"It would seem we're under attack.. make haste Shinigami." Brain says as he glares nervously at Harupia.

Zane released a steady exhale once he got to his position, sure that, for the time being, the group was safe. Not too long after that, a loud screech had rained down on the group, the source of which was a bat-like hollow, flying blindly above them. Zane groaned as the noise filled his ears, annoying him to no end, but he shifted his position to take one that would be proper for fighting and taking his Zanpakuto from it's sheathe and holding it at his side, tip down. Although he didn't seem it, Zane was ready to take on the menace should it come toward him.

Harupia nodded as he spoke saying "You did the best you could. Don't worry, we have all the necessary medicine, at lest short term wise. However like you said, we cant heal them here completely...hopefully these people wont throw a tantrum about it..." he said, still applying the healing energy to the wounded women. He turned his gaze towards Brain, his face shaping itself into a stern look, but said nothing. Shield himself...well, as long as he helped them as well...
His musing was interrupt as the screeching came. Hollow's...just great. Pouring more of the Reiatsu into the wound he would say " I'm almost done...it might sting a bit but it should take care of enough to safely move her..." he said, the sickly women wincing a bit in her unconscious state. As he applied his work, he was to focused on it to see a danger arise from top of him. A black spider with a red marking on its back, roughly the size of a grown men's hand, was descending slowly down on the Fukutaicho. Outside, the other Hollow muttered to itself, seeing the bat creature come forward. A welcome distraction..for now. He needed to wait for a good chance to strike...he had no intrest in dying here, but the taste of Shinigami meat was to tasty to resist...

"When you have administered the required dosages to temporarily stop the spreading, meet me outside." he says while standing and walking towards the exit of the building. As he passes Harupia, he spots the spider overhead within the corner of his eyes and so he mutters softly towards the man before his exit, "Might want to squash that spider above you."
Brain wanders up to Zane's side and says, "I noticed you were handy with that blade. Make work of your weaponry skill and watch my back while attract the beast's attention. Aneiglao, as we around these parts have named it, is a blind Hollow. so that means during it's attacking, when it starts to screech, it is most vulnerable." After giving Zane a literal mouthful rundown of what their makeshift plan was, he bolts off and away toward the building across from the medical area. In the building, he rummages through their supplies until finding a pot and pan, to which he utilizes upon his immediate exit of that building in the form of loud banging. As he starts to pick up pace and advance into running form, he would be hollering like a mad man with hands flailing together in unison so that together, it truly had looked like this man had lost his marbles.
"HEY YOU BIG STUPID malBAT, YEAH I'M TALKING TO YOU. COME GET ME YOU UGLY, WEIRDO!"
But what was this?
Almost instantly upon stopping it's screech, Aneiglao was attracted to the loud noise, instantly moving to hover over that area in which the noise was traveling. Though it wasn't making a descent yet, it seemed then plan was going accordingly. edited today, this post has been up for 2 days

Zane blinked as Brain not only approached him, but began to bark orders at him. Well.. not so much orders as they were suggestions and tips, but still it was odd that it was happening so suddenly. As per the advisement of Brain, Zane gripped his Zanpakuto tightly and awaited the attack of the Hollow. How he hated to wait for these stupid things..

Harupia blinked a bit at the bearded men's comment, before turning his head to see the over sized spider, which he swatted away quickly in a startled fashion. The spider was persistent, quickly getting to its legs and crawling towards him again, but with a swift motion of his blade, the creature was pierced through with his blade. Luckily it didn't bite him or anything...seeing how the color scheme of the creature was white and black, he was sure it wasn't a simple forest creature...
As he heard the loud banging outside mixed with the screeches of the bat, he hurried with the administration of the healing. They should be good to move through now...turning around he saw the other medics were done as well, though a bit tired. With a light smile he was about to tell them to move out before one of them shouted for him to look behind. As he did he would jump back startled, seeing a long, spider leg poke at him through the window of the house. Outside he could hear quick shuffling on the side, which made him stand up quickly and say "Alright everyone, get ready to get the people out...Zane, be careful, there is another Hollow around he..." Before he could finished the creature itself would jump form other other side of the building. A giant spider, covered in black fur and a bit of white exoskeleton over his legs and and back, would leer towards the Shinigami, and suddenly spit out a huge, green oozing glob towards them. Reacting as quickly as possible Harupia would move to the side, tugging Zane with him, hopefully moving them both out of the way.

Brain leads the bat out of view temporarily by heading into a building. He enters from the bottom, and the bat enters from the obliterated third floor. Brain ceases the noises once they both meet on the second floor of the building. The area was made up of two hallways, one leading downstairs and one leading up, the room these hallways were connected at is desolate and open. Clenching the pot and pan tightly, he rolls his shoulders and neck, cracking and popping until he was relieved minorly of the stiffness in his upper back. He steadily watches the bat as it crosses the room slowly, Aneiglao attempting to once again locate the once loud banging, or even something else of attraction.

Zane continued to watch the bat until he was ganked from his stationary position by Harupia, causing Zane to release somewhat of a "Yelp". The young shinigami blinked and shook his head as he eyed his new target, the giant spider-like hollow before them. Every so often, his eyes shifted toward the bat, which was still in his peripheral vision, but his main focus stayed with the spider. Zane raised his Zanpakuto, tip pointed toward the Hollow as he nodded toward it before he took off, dropping his blade back to his side. As he progressed toward the hollow, he turned the sword in his hand, facing the sharp side in front of him.
Zane slid to a stop and grabbed the hilt of his Zanpakuto with both hands as he swung it upwards toward the creature's skull, hoping to split it in half. With the connection of his attack (or perhaps not) and regardless of the result of the blow, Zane would leap backwards, trying to make it back to Harupia's side.

Well, it seemed the dodge was successful as the green blob flew harmlessly past them. Before he could comment on what happened, he saw Zane run towards the Hollow to attack it. He thought about aiding him,but was called back by one of the other Shinigami, who told them to turn around. The group was fending of a brood of spiders which looked like the large one before them, but much smaller, roughly the size of a hand, which were coming from the goop the creature spat out. Cursing under his breath, he would help them all deal with the smaller creatures, while telling two of his men to help the other medics proper to move out, while another two were sent to help Brain with his encounter with the bat Hollow.
The large, mother spider if you will, was quite glad the other Hollow flew of.It meant more food for her and the brood...once she disposed of the sword swinging fools. The spider managed to dodge Zane's attack, and retaliated with thrusthing two of her legs towards him, their tip looking clearly like they were quite sharp, ready to pierce anything in their way.

Taking cover behind a pillar, Brain was waiting for the Hollow to enter his striking area. It was about to be within view, when in comes two Shinigami. Their shuffling footsteps, and low murmuring caught the attention of the bat Hollow. Aneiglao immediately cracks the maw of it's mask and let's loose a furious roar. Unlike it's previously screech, this one boar a heavier, more distorted tone. Coated wavelengths of sound emit from the maw however instead of focusing the pitch onto a specific target, it is distributed throughout the entire building evenly. Spec like material and small spurts of dust shake loose from the ceiling, the walls rattle and the floor vibrates intensely. While it seemed like the general area was being affected, nothing of attention came to their bodies.
One of the Shinigami moves forward to subdue the Hollow before the building is brought down, however in his attempt he is immediately stonewalled. He comes running toward the the Hollow however with each step he gives, he could feel his footing on the floor slowly loosen. The Shinigami gets within about ten feet of the bat before this large, fissure size gap starts manifesting within the blink of an eye. Quickly the Shinigami is consumed by said opening in the floor, and before they knew it, the fissure was advancing and crossing directly across the room whilst growing in size. Brain quickly exits the room while saying, "We need to leave!"
The other Shinigami in which he was addressing quickly follows and on their way through the bottom floor, the Shinigami retrieves his injured, unconscious comrade. Brain exits the building firstly before followed by his supposed aid. Upon their exit, large plume of dust raises from the ceilingless building, signifying the desolation of that building's second and even first floor. Amongst the loud collapsing of said floor, it would seem the distortion that the bat had created would have ceased. And though they weren't obvious to the bat's exit yet, it had taken advantage of the scene to slip away unnoticed.

Zane's eyes widened as his attack was dodged and then, on top of it, countered by the spider-like hollow. Zane couldn't really feel much surprise by this as a hollow this big and tough surely had to have some kind of intellect to last this long. Zane maneuvered himself swiftly to the right side, dodging one of the spider's legs only to have the other one pierce through into the front of his left shoulder and slide deep enough through his flesh, muscle and tissue to pierce through the back of it. Zane released a loud yell of anguish and pain as his blood splattered on the ground behind him and began to drip from either side of his wound, staining the ground and his uniform in the process.
"Damn that hurt! But it probably isn't going to hurt as much as this is going to, you stupid bitch!", Zane yelled out, directing the second part toward the Hollow itself. Zane tightened the grip of his right hand around his Zanpakutou and swung the blade toward the lower end of it's leg, attempting to remove the limb from the spider's body. Zane wasn't able to do too much more than this at this point, he was caught after all.

The spider's attack was quite swift, and it chittered itteeth in glee as one of his attack priced the Shinigmai's flesh. He caredlittle for the words of the critter, she only wanted to sink her teeth into himand drag him away before the other's came to his aid...However, in her hunger she did not notice that the Shinigami was still intent on attacking. And his attack was quite well aimed, part of the blade sticking into the soft flesh of itsleg. While the rest of the blade was stopped by its armored plating, it still dug quite deep into the flesh. The Spider Hollow screeched in pain, and jumped back slightly, wanting to rip the Shinigami apart...however, it seemed herposition was getting disadvantageous.
Haru and the rest of the Shinigami troupe managed to fend of the smallerspiders, and the Fukutaicho along with his other companions. They were lookingquite annoyed. Before any of them came forward, the hungry, wounded Spiderwould try and pull of one more maneuver before he retreated. rushing towardsthe other group, with the bearded male and the other two black robes going outof the building that the bat Hollow tore down, he would pounce on Brain, and attempt to bite down on his body, releasing a strong, limb numbing poison into his body, and then it would try to drag him away towards the woods. A risky plan, seeing the other Shinigmai quickly gave chase, and there was one close her target, but she felt she needed to try and get something out of this hunt.
As the other Shinigami moved to assist with the spider, and the medicscarefully brought out the sick Rukongai citizens out of the house, Haru would movetowards the wounded comrade and say "Zane! Are you ok? I saw the Hollowlanded a hit on you. How are you feeling?" he said as he observed thewound, tying to judge the best course of action. It was an ugly wound, but Itlooked like it avoided any vital organs. With Harupia round, Zane would be fine, sooner than later. Nothing he couldn’t handle. He only hoped the other Shinigam iwould manage to pin down the spider. Combat was defiantly not his ante.

Since the start of his studies within the animal anatomy, he was always sort of touchy when it came to insects and spiders. He did not carry with him a phobia, but rather a general dislike and so he never really learned all too much about their strengths or weakness, like he had with so many other kinds of animals. So as Brain was trying to gather himself from having just barely escaped a collapsing building, another threat would present itself. A Spider. As the injured beast came barreling forward, Brain retrieves his needle-like zanpakuto from it's sheathe and mutters while taking stance, "Crap." The spider had an impressive amount of speed and with his sense still a little distorted, he has only allowed one small window of opportunity to release one of the two needles that compose his zanpakuto. When the spider was close enough to hit without a problem, Brain places one needle, by the grip, between his lips and clenching the other in his hand mildly, he cocks his arm back slightly before flicking his wrist and letting loose his small projectile. Being that it was aimed a quarter of an inch above one of her eight eyes at the time she would crack her maw to bite Brain, contact would be about 50/50 depending on how wide it's mouth.
The spider's pounce was swift and basically unavoidable for Brain, he's taken down regardless of if his attack hits the eye of the spider. Though as he is pinned, he would jut both arms outward and clasp tightly upon the nearest spider legs. At which point he would be bitten and injected with said numbing poison. The fangs pierce the man's flesh, causing for him to grit his teeth and groan loudly through them. His neck, and overall muscle tone straining extensively as the toxins course through his body. Before succumbing to the poison, he would purse his lips, blade pointing outward and grip pointed inwards, and with a condensed amount of air gathered in his cheeks he would, much like with a bamboo stick and dart, shoot his zanpakuto out from his mouth, directly towards another one of the spider's eyes.

Zane groaned loudly at the wound that bore into his left shoulder, blood exiting the wound faster than it had been previously. Zane placed his Zanpakutō back into it's sheathe with his right hand and clenched his eyes shut from the pain. "How am I?! I'm in pain, dammit! Freaking thing pierced right through my shoulder!", He yelled out toward the man. Zane wasn't actually angered with Harupia and did hope that he would understand that it was the wound making him this.. irritable.

Hmm, well, he was conscious for the most part, so the wound wasn’t as bad as it could be. Haru beckoned on of the other medics towards him after he moved out the sick villagers, and had him help move Zane so that he could lean him against some sort of wall as he said "You going to be fine...we just need to patch it up a bit..." while he searched for his bandages. All the while looking towards the other side, feeling somewhat inadequate for not being able to help with the fight... but he was, for all purposes, a healer. He could do much more once the battle was over.
The Spider was quite gleeful to bite into the human under her...if not for the fact one of her eyes was priced through with a blade of his. As well as another one, with her clamping down her teeth into his neck to apply the venom. A painful experience indeed, making her let out a vile, pained screech. She wanted to rip this one apart...but alas, she had enough eyes to see to her side still, and reinforcement was quickly incoming. She tried to drag away Brain by the edge of his clothing, but one of the Shinigami got close enough to slash at the back, forcing her to skitter away as fast as she could. This was a rather wasteful hunt, sadly.
As they chased of the Hollow, some of them followed her for a bit, while two Shinigami quickly took an old of Brain, and seeing that he wasn’t able to stand up properly, moved him towards Harupia. The Fukutaicho, who had to quickly cut through Zane's clothing to expose the wounded area, was applying his own Reiatsu to cleanse and seal the wound, as he turned down to Brain and asked "What happened to you? Can you speak? Can you move at all?" noting the rather large bite mark...a venom which immobilized the foe was nothing uncommon...he couldn’t help but to wonder if the spider had something to do with the illness of the villagers. Something which would need to be investigated in the future...

The poison had fully restricted his movements in the sense that he was numbed from neck to toe. The Shinigami attempt to help Brain up, but in the same moment he's erected, he would tip and attempt to fall back over. With each of his arms slung around two Shinigami, he's brought over to the Fukutaichou, head hung low. As Harupia asks him a series of questions, he would attempt to raise his head, though without the strength or feeling, he only gets up to about the waist level of Harupia before he replies, "I've been bitten and I can't move, the toxins are spreading quick, Medic." After reply he would drop his head with a groan, the lot of the action putting a massive strain on one of the only parts of his body he could still feel, his neck. The two Shinigami lay Brain down on the floor next to Harupia, and as Brain is laid down, he gets the off-feeling, a deja-vu kind of like feeling, where when the spider had pounce on him. And looking around frantically, the man would begin to grow into a worried shout, "My zanpakuto?! The spider has it!"

Zane was propped up against a nearby wall, a sound of ripping cloth coming from the space around him as Haru began to tend to his wounded shoulder. The young Shinigami let loose a low groan from the pain he felt, it being enough to drown out Brain's words from Zane's ears. Zane clenched his eyes shut to deal with the pain, "I swear if I ever see that damned thing again, I'll kill it!", He yelled out before another groan of pain flooded from his mouth.

Haru nodded, as the bearded man proved his suspicion to be right, at least the part of about the Hollow being poisonous. For now, he was a bit busy with Zane, patching up the wound. He was lucky he didn’t get hit by the poison, he assumed that only the spider's bite could administrate it. He would beckon on of the other medics to him and say "I patched up the bleeding and any infections which might have happened. You just need to bandage him up, and make sure he walks around carefully" before turning to Zane and giving him a pat on the shoulder saying "You did a good job today Zane-kun. Don’t worry, you’ll be good in no time. And I’m sure you'll be better prepared for round two if it ever happened" he finished with a smile, before moving back, letting the other medic to the job of bandaging the wound up.
As he moved to Brain, he would kneel down over Brain and say "Zanpakuto? And where would you have such a tool from, my friend?" while he moved his hands over the male's arm, the green glow appearing once again. This was an easier procedure, but a bit more time-consuming. He needed to see how much energy it would take to neutralize the toxin, and then slowly remove it from the body of the male, unless it would dissipate on its own sooner. Hollow Toxin tended to have a limited effect, at least to a somewhat hardened body. Just enough for them to kill a weaker prey though. As he healed him, Haru started to think about just who this guy was. A zanpakuto was a clear mark of a Shinigami...but this men looked like he was not within the vicinity of the city for a long time...Curious indeed.
As for the weapon itself, it was still lodged in the eyes of the spider Hollow, who get herself surrounded by the chasing Shinigmai. She tried to cause a distraction, firing another green globe with her brood spider lings within it, managing to catch some of the warriors of guard. But one of them managed to close the distance, and hoped onto her back, sticking his blade into the side of her body. The spider Hollow shirked in pain again, flailing tis body wildly to throw the Shinigami off. And eventually she managed to do that, after which she scurried a bit forward, managing to reach the forest surrounding the makeshift city. The Shinigami who jumped on the spider groaned in pain, landing on the ground forcefully, his blade soaked in the spider blood...and in his hand were two small, needle like blades, which he used to hold on better on the Hollow before they dislodged themselves from her body. Perhaps one of his comrades Zanapkuto...after clearing of the remaining small spiders, the group would start to return to the main village part, where all the other were gathered, preparing the sickly villagers to travel towards the city.

The venom was restricting his movements in full, however the toxins had an expiration point, and said point was being pushed more and more forward as Brain fought off the toxin with his naturally high stamina. That and the medic was aiding in the extraction after having already ceased the spreading. So rapidly, Brain was coming to, rising up into a sitting position though his posture was loosely and wobbly, sort of like a drunk person. Groaning softly as he feels the toxins trying to restrict his movements, but nevertheless he musters up enough strength and stamina to take to his feet. And although he was in a stagger-like state, he replies to Harupia, "I am a Shinigami... and I will not leave here without my Zanpakuto in it's sheath."
One shaky step at a time, he would leave Harupia's medical attention and walk toward where he had last seen the spider scurry off to. Each step that he gave would feel as if though he was about to cave, until he saw figures in the distance. The figures would quickly come into view as Shinigami bretheren and as they approached Brain, he would see his two needle-sized zanpakuto gripped in the palm of one of the the Shinigami. "My blades.." he mumbles as the man would hand them over to Brain. After tucking them back into his sheathe he would raise his tone from it's mumbled form, enough to address the Shinigami who retrieved his zanpakuto, "What is your name, Shinigami?"
"Tetra.." he answered. Brain didn't look like a Shinigami, and that made everyone feel sort of off. He knew it, their expressions would give this off, that much he could tell by. So with a sigh, he turns to Harupia and says, "We should get the sick back to the Seireitei as planned, they are nearing death." Unlike before, when they were going to leave, his tone held a much more definition. Like he wanted to return home, and be nowhere but.

Zane was enclosed in his own little "bubble", if you would, of a world. Only he, Haru (albeit briefly while he tended to the other's wounds) and the other medic existed to him right at that point. The pain was slowly and he meant REALLY FREAKIN' SLOWLY, starting to drain from his body, being replaced by a strange soothing sensation. Then the pain came back! What the he.. oh.. it was just the medic bandaging up his wound. No big deal then. Zane closed his eyes and leaned his head back on the wall, he'd be so happy when this was over.

Well, the somewhat obvious has been revealed. Their mysterious helper turned out to be a Shinigami...who was found in a village in the middle of the deep Rukongai area. That rose quite a few other questions, but it seemed that the male was not interested in answering them, now that he was able to walk on his own accord...for the most part. He was sure his healing helped shake of the effects of the poison a bit. Still, he followed behind the man, just in case he wasn’t as able as he would like to be.
Before he could wander of far, the other Shinigmai were returning, solid in blood and guys, but otherwise fine, if only a bit limp. And they brought gifts, one of them handing the bearded male two small blades, which made his Zanpakuto. He could see the somewhat confused expressions on some of the faces. It was a peculiar situation, but they couldn’t afford to waste time. Nodding to Brain's words he would say "Indeed, though I believe our treatment should keep them stable long enough. Anyone able handed, please assist my medics with the sick. Anyone who feels he requires assistance is free to ask any member of the 2nd Division, but be hasty about it". After that he would turn to the wandering Shinigami and said "Could I ask for you assistance in escorting Zane-san? He was hit quite hard, and played a huge role in fending of that horrible spider creature..." he said with a slight shudder. It wasn’t that he didn’t like spiders, but there was something...chilly about that creature.

Brain would be stretching his joints out in an attempt to increase blood flow so that the toxin can further be overwhelmed. Alas, during the stretch, the poison would reach it's expiration and literally vanish from Brain's body, causing for those once stiff joints to become more relaxed and loosened. After having the full-mobility of his limbs restored, he starts to leave. Though in his attempt to make way toward the medical building, Harupia would stop him and ask for a favor in assisting one of his comrades. He was in debt to the man, and so he had no choice but to help. It was only right. So Brain walks over to Zane and the medic who was tending to Zane's wound, saying, "Do you need assistance walking, Zane?" The bandage wrappings were rather medium to large, leaving Brain to assume Zane was fairly injured and required some sort of aid in their journey back to the Seireitei. Then, something dawned upon Brain as he was examining Zane. He had met this man before. Roughly 40 years back, in the wild. For now though he contains the surprised emotion and keeps his trap shut for now, seeing if Zane would notice him first.

Zane shook his head and waved his left hand back and forth to dismiss the notion of needing help with moving. Zane, despite his pain, felt well enough for him to walk away and return to the Seireitei. This was how he felt, not the actual fact of the matter. He moved away from the wall he had been using to secure his body in the upright position and began to wobble some as he walked, "On the other hand..", He murmured to the man, standing still and trying to keep himself on his feet.
