I'll be using this blog to post WiPs of my art along with craft ideas, cool things I've found, 'of the day' type entries, bullets of what's going on in my life, and reviews of different things like movies, games, music, books, and recipes. If you have any requests for something you want to see like pictures of my pets, my photoshop processes, or whatever, please PM them to me.

If enough people are interested, I can compile a list of people on DA who take both point and cash commissions and provide a sorted list by type, expense, and quality and post it in the blog. If you are interested, please PM me. If I don't get enough requests, I wont do it because it is going to take time and effort on my part and I am running low on both.

Need to scan and color Yuzuki's Bankai form. It's mostly the same as the base WiP sketch, though I've modified the face into a face plate to fit the rest of the battle armor. Fairly happy with it except for the feet which are way harder than I thought they'd be and the length of the tiger's body since it should be elongated a bit more. Oh well.

This was the WiP for Yuzuki's zanny spirit. I don't like how the final product turned out because the skin was more difficult than I imagined. I also need to stop being lazy and do my lines on photoshop instead of just taking my traditional inked lines since they're far too thick and messy.

• My Knoshbox came today!

This month's box contains:

• Justin's Butters - Three butters crafted in Colorado: honey peanut butter, chocolate almond, and maple almond.
  
• Z Crackers - Hand-cut garlic and basil crackers made in NYC.
  
• Simple Squares - An organic coffee flavored snack bar made in Chicago.
  
• Raaka Chocolate - A chocolate bar made in Brooklyn from unroasted cocoa beans and stone ground. The tasting notes include cherry and toasted marshmallow.

I'll do a review of each product once I've had a chance to try them all.

I still need to work on the Amano crest which is going to be a modified yin yang symbol, but the information is pretty much done. I plan on having this in the library thread too and I also plan on writing out short stories of the history of the NPC memories just for fun. Anyways, if anyone is interested in joining the Amano family at any point, you should read this.

[Family Description]

The Amano clan is a well established, but secluded family. Founded in 10,000 o.w. the family heavily revolves around the yin yang gender concept of being equals, but in different aspects to balance the other side out. There are two branches of the family, descending from the twins born to the founders, a male and a female. As such, one branch gives birth only to males and the other side gives birth only to females.

Males in the family tend to the small plot of farmland within the walled estate as well as the few livestock kept on the premises. They are also in charge of posting guards, building, and maintenance of the estate grounds as well as any heavy lifting that needs done. Their experience in construction as well as guard duty from the time they are young is why the males join the Fifth Division.

Females are in charge of tending to the children which includes educating them in core subjects like reading, writing, and math, but also music, art, and the various duties they'll be expected to take on once they are old enough. If a child excels in a particular subject, they are given additional training. In addition to raising the children, the women take care of cooking, cleaning, sewing, and tending to the garden. They also handle all of the family's medical needs, which is why they take positions in the Second Division.

Children are considered special to the clan and they are encouraged to remain free spirited for as long as possible, though they too have their own duties within the family. Because of this, most members of the Amano clan do not join the Gotei until they reach 250 years of age. Despite the special treatment the children receive, those born out of wedlock are not allowed to remain in the family. The family has a stall run by off duty members in the shopping district of Seireitei selling various goods produced by the family; each member is expected to contribute something. The income provided by this is kept in a fund to be used on things that the family needs as a whole, rather than any one individual because there is nothing more important than family to them.

Members of the family are free to marry who they wish as long as they remain on the estate and the partner takes the Amano surname as their own; even males who marry in. All members born into the family tend to fall prey to wanderlust at one time or another. Those who do not marry or do not have children tend to leave and never come back. Those with deeper familial obligations more often than not just take lengthy approved vacations before returning. The legend behind the wanderlust stems from the grand matron's home high in the mountains. Stories say that this scene of a great tragedy calls out to the blood of those born into the family.

• All males born into the family have a pale spiral forming a circle as a birthmark somewhere on their body.
  
• All females born into the family have a pale crescent moon as a birthmark somewhere on their body.
  
• All males born into the family are given names that have to do with the sun, radiance, fire, or the land, such as trees or stone. Warrior names are acceptable, but rarely used.
  
• All females born into the family are given names that have to do with the moon, stars, water, storms, or darkness. Floral names are acceptable, but rarely used.
  
• All males born into the family tend to join the Fifth Division.
  
• All females born into the family tend to join the Second Division.

[Family History]

The Amano family was founded by Mitsuo and Tsukina, two of the first People, in 10,000 o.w. They had twins, a boy and a girl named Youchi and Mizuki; this started the two branches of the family. Only males were born from Youchi's descendents and only females were born from Mizuki's line. Yoichi married a woman by the name of Amaterasu who gave birth to two sons, one of which left the family with a male lover. Mizuki married a man named Soichi and had but one daughter.

By Yoichi and Mizuki's children were born after the virus had hit. By the time they had their children in 1000 o.w. the offspring were immune, allowing the family to remain intact though the first three generations died out because of it, with Yoichi and Mizuki surviving long enough to raise their children and pass down their principle of family first. While most of the first three generations died from the virus without changing, the original patron, Mitsuo underwent the change to become a Hollow. It was not a complete transformation and his wife, Tsukina chose to slay him, knowing he would not want to be a monster, but in the process, she was dealt a fatal blow from Mitsuo, leaving both of them dead in Tsukina's original home in the mountains where they had fled from the virus to.

The fourth generation, headed by Taiki on the male branch and Miku, Tukiyo, and Izumi on the female side, were a part of those who created Seireitei where they formally established their clan in the northeastern residential district. The family flourished even when during the rift of the separatist movement which led to the development of the Rukon Citizens. When the Gotei created divisions, males of the Amano family who had more than ample construction experience, joined the fifth, and the women of the clan who had been giving medical treatment for centuries naturally joined the Second Division.

The rest of the family followed suit as time went on with the exception of Tukiyo who never married and left to wander the outskirts of the Rukongai, and a single dark mark on their otherwise clean record after the virus. Two members of the sixth generation, Haruki from the male branch and Hoshiko from the female branch were wed. The family thought nothing of it because they were very distant cousins, but the genes were still strong within both branches. For a long time, they failed to have a child and when they did, it was not what they expected. Still, despite the fact the child, named Haruto, had been born a hermaphrodite, the parents and family accepted them and raised Haruto like the other children. It wasn't until Haruto's adolescence that servere mental issues manifested, including split personalities, one of which was extremely aggressive and prone to violence.

Haruto had to be permanently confined to the mental ward of the Second Division. At the time of admission, it was agreed that the members of the Amano family who worked in the Second Division would care for Haruto and no one else aside from the reigning taichou would be allowed to see, much less tend to Haruto. Ashamed by the events that had transpired because of their union, Haruki and Hoshiko committed joint suicide.

Now in the ninth generation, the remaining family continues to work for the Gotei so that they may remain in Seireitei.

I plan on doing a massive project for adjuchas type Hollow once I finish the pictures I already owe people. I have a really big list of animals, mythical creatures, bugs/insects, and plants going, but if you have any suggestions, feel free to PM them to me. These will be available for anyone on AK to use as their characters, provided they PM me for permissions and credit me in their profiles for the image.

• Saw cops with assault rifles running through my backyard yesterday; still shaken up.

Working on Yoshiya for Jeff so I can start my Hollow project even though I really should be doing chores or school work. /procrastination

I think I'm going to be doing male and female versions of arrancar designs to go with the corresponding adjuchas drawings that I do. I'm going to need practice with them for an event that will happen later down the road anyways. I haven't decided if I'm going to do full color for these like with the adjuchas, or just do a quick sketch version. I guess I'll decide when I get there. Still need to finish Jeff's picture and then I'd like to do some sort of reference sheet for Az's upcoming character. Right now I'm working on V5 coding while waiting for my laundry to be done so I can go play basketball then head to town so my little sister can get her industrial bar for her right ear.

So this is how messed up my brain is.

I go to take a shower this morning and while in the shower, I start singing that stupid song from the cow commercial. If you've watched television recently, at least in the states, you know the one I mean. If not, here. Anyways, I'm singing what little I do know of the song and my brain gets on the topic of stupid songs that I'm addicted to with the most recent one being the Lazy Song by Bruno Mars.

So my brain, being the lovely thing that it is, goes, "You know, if Sounga wore his hair in a pomp, put on shades, and acted like a douchebag, he would be Bruno Mars in that video with the monkeys." Now I'm seeing Sounga drop his pants and pelvic thrust in boxers.

Alright, alright, I know that's really not any different than normal, but still, seeing Sounga replace Bruno Mars in that video would be hilarious and crazy.

Yeah, so my brain makes the jump to Crazy.

Crazy and I had a conversation the other day about what he is listed in my phone as, which is Crazy -insert first name-. Crazy said that made him sound like a used car salesman. So I'm in the shower and my brain is all like, "Come see Crazzzzyyyy -Insert Name- at the Used Cars of Science, because selling used cars is his lot in life!" Then it goes, "Get it, get it, lot in life, a used car lot?"

Then I'm like, "But brain, Crazy -insert name- could also be a pirate name!" And my brain goes, "No he can't, that ship has sailed! ... Get it, get it!?"

So I'm gigglesnorting and drowning in the shower spray then I'm like... I probably shouldn't be thinking about Crazy in the shower anyways.

Then shower time was over.

Alright, I promised a proper update today, so here it goes.

My dad and I went to pick Cain up at the DFW airport on Thursday night. He was scheduled to get in at 10pm, so we left the house a little before 9pm. Dallas isn't fun to drive through at the best of times, much less when there is construction going on and absolutely zero detour signs. So we spent an extra half hour trying to navigate through the mess of the constructions zones, but we eventually made it without incident. Given how late it was, we pretty much went to sleep when we got home, but only after Miz got to see Cain, which was really cute. I was expecting more biting, but Miz was feeling particularly greedy for attention.

Friday was the start of my four day birthday weekend. Cain and I got to try the contents of my Knoshbox; some were good, some were bad. He also got to open his Loot Crate. It had some pretty cool stuff. He's supposed to take a picture of that later. He also got several books for his birthday and a t-shirt from Nintendo that he opened the night before. Anyways, that night after my dad got home with the jeep, Cain, my sister, and I went to Germanfest a couple of towns over.

There was a lot of good food to be found, though we settled for bratwurst, smoked cheese, chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick, and a coke float. The smoked cheese and bratwurst we brought home, but after the cheesecake and the float were finished, we wandered around taking in the sights and delicious smells. We ended up buying slap bracelets. Yeah, the ones you hit people with instead of wearing, but we did wear ours, after my sister smacked me anyways. Mine smells kind of like gasoline, it's weird. Then, I made the mistake of letting Cain play a game on the midway. He failed to win me a prize. ;-; And cost me five dollars. <,,< Another five, since he tipped someone five dollars even though we had a tight budget for the whole weekend, but anyways.

Given how humid it was, we were going to leave, but my sister at least wanted to ride the Kamikaze ride. I did not. So she and Cain went to ride it. Neither of them thought to have me hold their stuff and my sister totally lost her wallet. We spent forever looking for it to no avail and one of the guys kicked her off the platform even though they weren't operating the ride at the time. The other guy, who didn't speak English, wanted to help, so after failing miserable to communicate with us, he called someone over to translate, and sure enough, following his advice, my sister found her wallet. We decided we had enough excitement for the night (and humidity) so we headed home.

That was Friday. On Saturday morning, the three of us went to the arts and jazz fest in Denton. I've always loved the arts and jazz fest and it's way better than Germanfest. It helped that it was significantly cooler too. We didn't have a lot of money to spend, but Cain and my sister split a gyro, Cain and I had some sweet tea and a half and half (tea/lemonade), and he even got to try some fancy beer for $4 that he didn't finish. I also bought a really pretty blue, white, and green dream catcher. Just browsing the tents was fun though. There are so many amazing artists out there with a variety of mediums.

One guy was selling beautiful artwork that he did on fence planks and boards with colored pencil while the girl he shared the tent with did magnetic glass and metal works. There were people doing sculpting showdowns, knitting, carving, and spray painting t-shirts. The one I saw being made was Sailor Venus and when the girl was done, her next one had a free handed sketch of L from DeathNote ready to go. There's also music everywhere you go, which is impressive given how far the festival spreads out. There was also a few random pieces of entertainment like people making balloon hats and animals and a man on stilts wielding a whip, which was really impressive, I doubt I'd ever be able to do one much less both at the same time. We would have stayed longer just to browse and watch everything going on, but my sister had to work later. All in all, I had a lot of fun that day.

Sunday was supposed to be a family gathering so people could come and say hi to Cain since they barely know him or get to see him. My real dad and his family were invited as well as my older sister who lives in the area and is not currently in jail, plus her family. Well, my real dad had claimed that he wouldn't come unless I called and asked him myself, which I thought was stupid since my mom talks to my step-mom every single day and had already invited them. I didn't have his number anyways and my mom couldn't find it either since my step-mom is the one who calls and not the other way around. So I posted on his facebook to tell him that I didn't have his number so he'd need to call me and I could ask him then, or I could do it via facebook. He never replied to the post or bothered to call. Needless to say, he didn't show up Sunday either, which I found to be very petty.

The cookout went pretty good though. With my sister and her family here, there were ten people. We had turkey hotdogs and homemade burgers that my dad cooked. I love when he grills. He's like, a master chef out there or something. @_@ The two younger kids eventually found their way to my room though and wanted to play Rock Band, so Cain got to do that. I really don't have the patience for helping kids with a video game. I usually make my sister do it, but Cain was already playing so he got stuck doing it.

Then Monday rolled around, my actual birthday. Of course I woke up to see that Az had posted a birthday thread for me. I got a kick out of the birthday corgi and it was a great way to start my day. I also had a ton of birthday wishes on facebook which was nice, and I had even gotten a birthday present on DA, which was definitely a first for me. True to our original plans, I got ready then woke Cain and my sister up so we could go play basketball before it got hot. Of course, it was also ridiculously foggy at the time, which made playing interesting, and messy, but it was fun.

Later we went to Dave and Buster's, which was a first for me and my sister. It was absolutely freaking amazing. It really is like an adult Chuck E Cheese, but with so much more stuff. We had some amazing food then got to play some games. I played a multiplayer fruit ninja game with my sister on large touch screen tvs, then a fighting game using the same mechanics, which I actually did pretty good. I did some wheel of fortune stuff and last but definitely not least, I went to play the Deal or No Deal game.

Of course, being me, I picked 9 as my case. It's my lucky number and always will be, especially after yesterday, because I totally freaking won the highest amount you can from the regular game.

By then we were pretty much out of credits, so we cashed in our tickets for prizes then headed home. Of course, we stopped by Sonic on the way back to try their 25 shakes of summer, or at least one a piece. Waiting for them to come out was as good a time as any for a picture.

Az said Cain shouldn't be allowed to look so happy.

In other news, my Glossybox came yesterday!

I've also been playing P4G. It pains me what they did to Chie's voice. ~_~ The new VA just doesn't cut it. They did a great job recasting Teddie though. Cain keeps pestering me to play Bioshock Infinite, so I'll have to start sometime soon. Today I need to try and get the coding for v5 done though, or at least as much of it as I can. But I actually really want to work on my new comic idea featuring Yuzuki and Raiu. @_@ There's also school work to be done.

So much to do and so little time to do it in.

I find my public speaking class to be incredibly relevant right now. Is that weird?

Pretty sure I'm running a fever and my left eye has been twitching all day, so it might be because of my piercing. ~_~ Need to do more school work, but I don't feel well enough to do it so I may just go take a nap. On the bright side, finally got around to finishing Persona 4 Golden. I hate what they did to Chie's voice. The VA from the original is just so much better. I also got a sexy drawing of Yuzuki's bankai.

My sister asked me to design her a maneki neko tattoo because of the kitten she rescued a few weeks back which is now her cat. The above modified lyrics are a result of our derpticity.

Mom took a real nasty fall the other day and landed face first. She has a prior history of brain damage from a bad car wreck back in her drug days, but refused to go to the hospital after the fall, yet ever since then she's been acting really weird, like not eating at all or being able to tell the difference between day and night even with sun pouring through the windows. Dad finally took her to the hospital this morning, so I guess we'll see what happens from here.

Mom is still in the hospital, but she might get out today. It depends on the results of the tests when they get back and whether or not her potassium level has come up any. Also went to see the new Star Trek movie last night. It was absolutely amazing, even better than the first, and I loved the first one. There was a 15 minute or so delay because of some sound issues, but because of that, at the end of the movie when everyone was leaving, we all got rain checks for a free movie. So today, we're going to see The Croods! :D

After the movie we went to Build-A-Bear because we're very mature. I named mine after Sulu, Cain of course named his after the bad guy, and my sister named her's after Bones, because she made a dog and it fit. Mine's the cutest. >,,>

My knoshbox for this month came yesterday. I'm going to get a review up for it and the one from last month sometime within the week. I can say that this one was my favorite of the two though. My headache from last week still hasn't gone away and I thought I felt a breast lump after my shower yesterday, but I can't find it again, so I need to set up an exam at the doctor for when the next check comes in 'cause we're broke now. ~_~ Just so you know, military insurance is a pain in the butt, but it's better than nothing.

Oh yeah, if anyone plays Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, they should add me on the xbox - SammieSound. Been playing video games a bit to try and distract myself, so feel free to request a match. My sister and Cain play too, so we can do a full team or something.

Word of the Day - Annoyed

My mom called my sister and I into the living room yesterday to tell us, in far more words than this, that we aren't giving them enough money. My sister gives my dad her car payment and at least half the car insurance every month from her less than large checks from working at a hotel desk. I pay the cable bill (which is in my name because their credit is so bad they couldn't get it in theirs) and help out with groceries, medicine, and other miscellaneous expenses every month, not to mention giving my sister gas money when she needs it so my parents don't have to. Needless to say, it ended up with her crying, because I flat out said I give them plenty of money, she just spends too much. However, because we knew she'd go crying to my dad, my sister and I canceled our trip to San Antonio next month to see my nephew graduate and to see his new baby so we could have that money in case he starts demanding more money because of her.

Then today, my mom tells me that my real dad is coming by. I hate when people make plans to come by without proper notice (like a day) and I'm especially upset this time because he didn't bother coming to my birthday cookout or to see my husband during the short period of time he was able to be here, but yet, he'll come visit to see my sister who is in jail and isn't going anywhere for a long time. Those two can't even stand each other 95% of the time.

I swear, this house is nothing but bad news. I woke up to find my sister home from work, holding her kitten, and calling every vet she knows. My mom crushed it under her recliner and it's barely breathing and not moving. No vets are getting back to my sister and the ones that do want money up front that none of us have right now. I doubt the kitten will make it and that's going to be really hard on my sister because it's not easy for the rest of us and it's going to make her even angrier with my mother, so I'm sure that situation will blow up too.

Update: My dad was going to use what money he had left and borrow what he still needed from our landlord for the vet. They got halfway there and the kitten died. My sister was already in a state of depression prior to this. She came back holding the kitten and apologizing to him over and over. Now she's finally wrapping him up so we can bury him. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers right now.
