A fight between two large beasts commenced just minutes ago. Between a wolf like hollow and a hollow of no importance. It was obvious the wolf was just toying with the hollow, nipping at its legs and running around it. The wolf would pause and let the other hollow try to strike but then the wolf jumped away, laughing like a hyena. The wolf’s mesmerizing eyes followed the hollow’s every movement, dodging and nipping…pissing the other hollow off more and more.
The wolf jumped forward, using the other hollow’s back as a springboard; landing far behind the hollow. The wolf grinned and laid down, staring at the hollow. It was the last straw though. The hollow had enough, it spun back and its sharp claw dug into the wolf’s back. The wolf let a shrill scream out and then a snarl as it leapt forward and grabbed the bottom jaw of this other hollow, swinging around and landing on the hollow’s back…breaking its neck.
The wolf jumped off as the hollow fell to the ground. He reached his head back and licked the wound the hollow had just created. There, a hollow lay. It wasn’t dead yet. It was still struggling to breath. It’d be dead soon…but this wolf was evil. This wolf wanted the hollow to know what he planned on doing.
He approached the hollow and stared it deep in its eyes before biting down onto his back and tear it apart, eating away at the still living hollow whom tried to scream out in pain but couldn’t. Soon enough, the hollow did die. The wolf sighed and stepped away. He was hoping the hollow would stay awake longer. He licked his jaws clean and leaned his head down to wipe it off on his legs. Pity, he was actually kind of hungry today.
The wolf quickly trotted away and jumped on a building, one he had found himself taking a liking too. He thought perhaps Ryuu would like a house like this but somewhere in the back of his mind he knew Ryuu wouldn’t. Ryuu was nothing like him. Ryuu liked death…Ryuu was evil… it wasn’t in the wolf’s nature to be evil but because Ryuu was now dead…he had to honour Ryuu by being what Ryuu always wanted him to be.
He watched as plenty vulturous hollows came to chew away at his kill. It was disgusting. To eat something dead. Disgusting creatures.

Humming as she kicked sand around, Kurai made her way deeper into the wastelands. She had snuck out of her home, making sure her father was long gone on one of his jobs before leaving. She had also made sure to leave the little pudu behind. Didn't want any hollows eating the little infant while the arrancar visited her old home.
The main reason Kurai had come to the wastelands was because of a worm-like hollow she had met last year. It was her job to make sure the gigantic hollow was fed, and she just wanted to show the hollow her new form. It had been too long since she last saw the worm. Kurai brought a finger to her chin, her humming ceasing as she thought of the last time she saw Jaga. "I've been so busy lately, trying to hide in Rukongai, that I hadn't had time to see Jaga lately. Poor thing. I'll make sure I catch him something extra yummy!"
She would let out a small giggle, kicking at the sand once more. Her crimson eyes looked up towards the darkening sky, spotting several red blurs circling. There was something close by. Something dead. It looks like I'll have to be careful.

Satoru watched with boredom as hollows tore apart the hollow he has just killed. He sighed and prepared to lay down on the roof but as he walked in circles to sleep, he noticed a black dot heading for him. He blinked slightly...erm...
"Oh...fuck."
A bird like hollow attracted to the smell of death, tackled Satoru right off the roof of the house. The bird obviously didn't care about Satoru because as Satoru fell off the roof it continued to fly towards the death. This pissed the young wolf off.
He let out a deep growl as his body hit the ground but he wasn't phased for long. He spun around and jumped looking quickly for the bird that took him down. It just landed. He ran after it. He wasn't quiet in doing so so all the birds and other hollows ran off, some tried standing their ground but eventually ran off. Even the bird began to fly away.
Satoru wasn't going to allow this.
The giant wolf laid down low to the ground, staring at the bird he was after. His muscles tensed, eyes narrowed. The bird seemed to slow down as did his heart rate. Suddenly he sprung, his black mane caught wind.
The bird's talons swiped at the wolf, the wolf's teeth landed in the wing and began to fall. The bird fought against Satoru, clawing at his back. Satoru landed with a hard thud and whimpered, letting go of the bird. The bird hopped away but Satoru pounced, grabbing the head within his teeth and crushing it, as if it were nothing.
Blood dripped from Satoru's teeth as he panted heavily. He let the bird fall limply to the ground as he pulled the talons from his sides and laid down, feeling blood drip from the new fresh wounds. Dumb bird...was food really THAT important?

The little arrancar gave a little noise of awe as she finally came upon the carnage. Two dead hollow and one covered in gore, if it were the wolf's, Kurai didn't know. She continued to watch with caution flashing in her mind. Wolves were a beautiful creature, but dangerous none the less. Approaching the hollow was not a smart move, so the girl stood where she was, ready to bolt if necessary.
"Looks like you won't be going hungry anytime soon either." Kurai placed her hands at her side as a huge grin rose to her lips, "You must be pretty strong and capable if you can get so much food in such little time. I wish I were like that."

Satoru’s left ear twitched as he heard a small noise. Normally any noise and he’d become extremely aggressive but this noise…it didn’t sound dangerous at all. Just a bit shocked.
You must be pretty strong and capable if you can get so much food in such little time. I wish I were like that.
Satoru gave out a soft scoff and looked back to who was bothering him. His lip rolled up in a snarl and his ears shot back. A kid?! A child?! An annoying little brat?!?!? Technically Satoru had no room since he was only a puppy. It didn’t mean he didn’t hate kids any less.
”Hmp…” the wolf like creature shook off the blood on his fur. ”You can have it, brat, I don’t care for dead meat.”
He began to turn and walk away but something the kid told him…puzzled him. He thought about it for a couple of seconds then turned back to the kid slowly, part of him was just wanting to walk away more…but the part that Ryuu could never teach out of him…the kind Satoru, was turning back to the girl.
”If you aren’t ‘strong and capable’ what on earth are you doing around by yourself? I mean, obviously you’re an arrancar so you’ve gotta be somewhat strong…” He was worried about a stranger’s safety…this was a trait that he knew some day would get him killed.

Kurai smiled dangerously, a 'ksss' noise forcing its way through her teeth. Her crimson eyes flashed as a hand moved to rest on her hip, the other flicking up into the air. The motion seemed out of place with her small child-like appearance. Her eyes turned from the canine, looking over the bird and unidentifiable carcass. These should be enough for Jaga, I think. If not, I could just find him more food.
"I don't need that. Though I may take it for my friend I'm about to meet. Thanks, doggie." Her voice came out as a purr, a giggle trailing out afterwards. Maybe this hollow would like to join what Ryuu started? Before she could as, however, Satoru was already starting to head out. She would shrug as she moved towards the dead bodies, small hands reaching out to take hold of the blood drenched flesh. It would take a while before Kurai would make it to the meeting place with Jaga.
Just as she was about to start tugging and pulling the neck of the bird, she heard the voice of Satoru, grin appearing on her lips once again. "I never said I wasn't capable. I just don't usually resort to fighting much. And I have easier means to feed myself." Kurai turned her gaze back towards the wolf, hand raising up to wipe at her face, leaving a smear of dark blood along the bridge of her nose and left cheekbone. Better to wipe it on her face than clothes.
"I have a question, if you don't mind me asking." She raised her other hand up, licking her fingers clean of the blood soaking them. "Another arrancar, his name is Ryuu, and I are starting a pack of sorts. Would you care to join?"

Satoru grinned softly at the attitude of the little girl. He couldn’t help but chuckle at her. The little child had a tough side to her, how cute. He watched as she smudged the blood across her face. This earned another chuckle from Satoru as he sat down on the dirt.
Ryuu would have liked this girl. I’m sure he would have tried to convert her to his ways…heh. A laugh erupted from Satoru’s throat as he shook his head slowly.
I really do miss him though…
Caught up in his own thoughts, he barely caught the girl asking if she could ask a question. Satoru stared boredly at her and then grinned. ”Sure you can ask a question, you just did.” He raised his lips, showing his long fangs and chuckled once more. He hadn’t talked to anyone in a long while, since Ryuu passed actually. He’d been alone ever since then.
Another arrancar, his name is Ryuu,
The words froze the “doggie” in place. Images ran through his head, watching his father die like that. Satoru hadn’t realized it but a low growl was pouring out of his mouth and he had lowered himself, as if he were about to attack the girl. His breathing was heavy as he tried to settle himself down.
He closed his eyes and gave a heavy sigh. His legs shook with anger but he spoke as calmly as before. ”My fath-…Ryuu is dead.”

"We'll have lots of fun. Be just like a family, looking after each other." Kurai didn't notice the wolf go rigid with her words. In such, she continued to list of how great being in the group would be. As she took a breath of air, however, she heard the words of Satoru, the air turning into a confused, short laugh.
"You're funny, doggie. There's no way Ryuu could be dead. I just saw him a couple months ago. He said he'd help me catch some fish when..." Her heart stopped, the blood draining from her already pale face, giving it a sickly pallor. Hands turning into tiny fists, the arrancar's lower lip trembled as she brought her hands to her chest, clutching them tightly. It can't be. He had to be able to get out of there. There was only two shinigami.
Her eyes, glistening and stinging with fresh tears, turned up to Satoru, voice wavering as the shock became noticeable on her voice, "d-do you know..." she took a deep breath before continuing, "do you know what happened? Who killed him?"

As the girl spoke about them being like a family, Satoru felt his eyes slightly water. He violently shook his head. Hollows didn’t cry…He couldn’t still feel this way…it’d been a while since Ryuu’s death.
There's no way Ryuu could be dead.
Satoru stopped shaking his head and he stared at the young girl with sadness in his eyes. She truly thought he was still alive. Satoru closed his eyes and placed his ears back as the girl realized he was telling the truth. His animalistic traits were beginning to shine through as a high pitched whine broke the silence. He lowered his head a little. He really didn’t want to see this little girl upset. Usually it wouldn’t bother him but…it was over Ryuu. He didn’t want to know Ryuu’s death hurt someone else almost as much as it hurt himself.
d-do you know...
Satoru raised his head, his ears slightly twitching as he stared at the girl. He swallowed hard as she continued to speak, asking who killed Ryuu. Saturo slightly shook his head.
”I honestly don’t…know.” His voice cracked slightly, earning a snarl. He was supposed to be strong! Brave! This is what Ryuu had raised him to be! A strong hollow.
”Ryuu, I think, was starting to lose faith in me. He started running off more and more, leaving me behind. That day…instead of running after him, I let him leave. After a while he didn’t come back…and…and…” Saturo shook as his eyes watered again.
Satoru didn’t even know it was possible for him to cry until the day Ryuu died. He had cried for weeks…he still cried when he was alone…which was often now that Ryuu was gone.
”When I finally found him, he was in a fight with two shinigamis. They both looked to be captains I think…I tried to reach him, I promise I did. I…I tried but…I wasn’t even close when…when she killed him. Slit his throat….” Satoru made a gagging sound as he held back the tears that threatened to spill. Once again he let out a high pitched whine. He shivered with hate and shame and loneliness and regret.
”I should have continued to run after them; I should have tried to kill them. They killed my father, right before my eyes…What kind of loyal dog am I? When I saw Ryuu’s blood…when I saw him die, I became a fucking coward. I just turned and ran as fast as I could. I had no place I was running to, no reason to live, I just ran away. Still now, I’m running. Day after day I run…if it weren’t for the fact I promised Ryuu I would kill all Shinigami and Rukon Citizens, I would give up. I have nothing anymore…Ryuu was everything…he…he….”
Satoru’s shoulders began to shake; he turned his face away from the little girl as tears streamed down his face and dotted the ground. His lips were formed into a snarl as he thought about those two shinigami bastards who teamed up against Ryuu. He had done NOTHING wrong. Several small whines came out of the wolf creature’s throat as he tried to stop crying. He hadn’t talked to anyone about Ryuu’s death; he had no one to talk to about it. He just had himself and the silence of the cruel world.

As she heard the words of the wolf, deep within her small little form, the final sliver of her sanity shattered apart. Her eyes dulled as fat tears streamed down her blood and dirt-stained cheeks, leaving a ghostly white path in its wake. Ryuu was gone. Gone. And she had ran away, thinking that Ryuu was right behind her. Just then she realized how stupid she was at thinking such a thought. In result, her lips widen into a large, wavering smile, a cackle leaving her lips.
Her hands dug into her hair, tugging at the long strands with her stubby fingers. Shinigami had killed him. Of course they did. That's what they were born to do. Kill the infected souls that had mutated and became the hollow, heartless beasts that Kurai was. A hand moved down to her neck, fingers running along the circle in her neck. Now I know what Neene ment. This is what it's like to be hollow. Funny that I learn it now. Another laugh left her lips as her hand came back up to her mask fragment.
"So this is what a true hollow is like." Her crimson eyes rose up to meet the wolf's, all emotion that was held in them gone, almost as if she were staring past the canine. "Now I know." Her eyes then focused, the smile falling from her lips as her face took on an emotionless mask. "So, would you like to take revenge on the shinigami? Join my pack? Together we can get strong, get you to evolve and learn how to unlock our ultimate powers."
"So, wolf, will you join?" Kurai held out a hand to Satoru. She was no longer the happy, carefree child. But she wouldn't discard that facade. She still had her 'father'. She would have to pretend around him, be that Rukon child she pretended to be.

Far from where the wolf-like hollow and the two-legger exchanged words about a person he knew nothing about, Daggmask Jaga, enormous sandworm and predator of the wastelands, churned the sands around him as he crept closer to his intended target. He had smelled the coppery blood already, and his hunger gurgled within, temptimg him closer and closer. He had to feed. He was so hungry, and Bigwing hadn't appeared in some time. He had almost given up hope. Perhaps she had been killed. That was a good guess. Bigwing wasn't strong. She was smart, but she wasn't strong, and strength mattered more here in the wastelands.
As he approached the pair stealthily, the sands bulged above his bulk. Two spiked horns broke the surface, running twin trails parallel, the ominous appearance of strange shark fins. Bigwing would have recognized the telltale sign of the worm's approach, but these two were new. They wouldn't. They might see him for a moment, but then he dove down far enough to be unrecognizable amongst the shifting dunes. Of course, he wasn't out to attack the two there, necessarily. No, he snuck closer to the corpse the two had ignored.
And when his bulk broke the surface on the other side of the corpse, there was an obvious rumble with it, but then silence. He made no sound at first except for a simple, wet slap, slap, slap as a long tongue extended from his throat, probing over the corpse. Little creatures nearby made no difference to Jaga. There was food here, and it was still relatively fresh.
"Hurr hurr..." he chuckled, his bulk heaving in eagerness to feed. He'd just wrap his jaws around it and slink away. Just a moment to grab it...

Satoru was more than ashamed, letting a child see his weakest side. He was still having a difficult time keeping the tears in his crimson eyes. The feeling soon faded as he saw the girl began to cry. Something cracked within his child hating heart. He stood up quickly and took a few hesitant steps towards her. Perhaps it was Ryuu inside of him, wanting to care for the child. Or perhaps it was the fact the wolf could use her to help him, that’s all a hollow was, wasn’t it? That’s why those shinigami killed Ryuu, because there is no such thing as a good hollow.
Maybe there was a good hollow somewhere inside Satoru, but the death of Ryuu…the shinigami killed any kindness in Satoru when they killed his father. And from the looks of this girl, they had done the same to her. Killed the last good in the hollow community. Congratulations, Shinigami, you’ve created your worst nightmare.
Satoru’s eyes widened as the girl began to laugh. She blinked softly. Just like Ryuu… She was laughing just like his dearest father. Despite the sadness that loomed around, Satoru couldn’t help but wag his tail at the girl’s reaction. This would be perfect, he never felt so close to achieving his dreams as he did in this single moment. With this Arrancar, he’d kill the Shinigami and Rukon Citizens, with this girl he’d avenge his father.
So this is what a true hollow is like.
The wolf stared into her eyes and smiled. This girl, she was truly evil now. His teeth showed as a chuckle escaped his lips. She could make him stronger, she could make him able to beat all those shinigami bastards who killed Ryuu.
So, wolf, will you join?
The wolf stared at the hand outstretched to him. There was no questioning it. Satoru would join this arrancar in killing all shinigami and anyone else who stepped in their way. Satoru stepped up to her and sat down in front of her. He placed his right paw in her hand and smiled.
”Satoru Ayakashi, of the Ayakashi Clan.”
The moment of pact was cut short though, when the wolf’s sharp senses heard something sneaking about. She spun around and growled lowly, tightening his leg muscles, preparing to pounce. As Satoru stared at the jaws wrapped around the hollows he had just killed, he made a sort of coughing noise.
”What the hell is that thing?!”

Once Satoru placed his paw in her outstretch hand, Kurai's tiny fingers would close around it, sealing the pacts, the bondage to her new pack. "Thank you, Satoru-san. We'll get you up to arrancar status in no time. We'll make Ryuu proud." The sound of shifting sand would make the smaller arrancar to avert her eyes towards the source of the noise. Her crimson eyes picked up the dull red forms of the dead hollows, a brighter red behind it. It wasn't until she heard the unmistakeable laugh of the worm hollow when she knew who it was.
Lips curling up into a smirk, Kurai's hand would return to her hip. So the worm showed up, impeccable timing. "Nice of you to join us, Littlewing Jaga. It seems we have found a new member who wants to join us. Why don't you say hello to Satoru-san."
The little arrancar flicked her eyes back to the wolf, flourishing a hand towards the worm enjoying the meal of dead meat. "This, Satoru-san, is the friend I was talking about. Thankfully he decided to show up. Dragging those bodies with my size would have been... taxing, to say the least. With all of us helping each other, we shall be able to get stronger, getting you two to evolve, and then unlocking our true powers."
They would need to increase their pack as well. Just the three of them against the masses of Rukongai and Seireitei would end badly for them. Her father was good only for food and a way for her to watch the Rukongai. She had to remember to keep her innocent facade around him, lest he get curious to her plans.
"We need to increase our numbers. Find more hollows that would like to join us and help take over the place where the shinigami reside. That is the only way, Satoru-san, we can get revenge on those pompous creatures."

What was this? He heard a voice that strongly resembled Bigwing's, but it came with a high-pitched quality and as the massive worm climbed up over the mounds of fleshy food before him, he could only see a little four-legger hollow and a two-legger, both unfamiliar to him. To the other two, he probably appeared very similar to a snake, but the grin that was plastered across his entire faceplate showed no signs of snake fangs. Instead Jaga's slavering jaws contained rows and rows of tiny teeth and his prehensile tongue, a suitable place to rend flesh clean from bone rather than to swallow something whole.
But who was this? This two-legger spoke like Bigwing, but her visage was bizarre, more like the brokenmasks she had talked of achieving before. Surely this could not be Bigwing! Bigwing had proven herself in the past to be weak! She was weak but clever. That was the quality that separated her from Jaga. Well, this little two-legger seemed small anyway, one of those little tasty larval two-leggers Jaga had heard about.
An infant two-legger? Had she disguised herself? The worm's eyes went wide. "Bigwing shooff taff off mmfrr fismiss," he said, or tried to say, but his lower jaw was firmly entrenched in the food he was now wrapping around like a python. Noticing his blunder, his signature laugh echoed from his throat once more and he ravenously began tearing at the flesh to free his mouth.
Covered in blood and raw entrails, his white bony mask and eternal smile likely looked quite ghastly, a horror from a child's nightmares perhaps.
"Bigwing should teach Jaga how to look like a larval two-legger. Hurrhurr. Sneak into two-legger town and eat them sleeping. Hurr."
Jaga hadn't actually ignored the wolf nearby, of course. His eyes flicked over as he ate, judging if he should sink back into the sand to attempt to swallow him as well, but he decided the wolf contained far too little meat on his frame to be worth the time and energy. He needed plump hollow for food, fat, lazy, unaware hollow. Maybe there were two-leggers like that. Silly two-leggers! How delicious one would be!

Protruding out from the ground in the shape of a large, crusty dome is one of many numerous pathways into the elaborate network of labyrinth corridors, otherwise known as the Gemstone Mines. This large dome protrusion is brownish and rough in texture and so the gems in which cast the inside of the tunnels would be visibly emitting the dim lighting it captures off the Moon. In the brilliance of this glimmering entrance is that of a humanoid figure, standing mildly tall and with the given angle, his features were but a darkened silhouette to Kurai, Sotaru and Jaga. He had not been there long, in fact has he only arrived from a long journey within. On the search for rare minerals was tedious work, but work that needed to be completed nonetheless. And during his scouring of the Wastelands, it was not too uncommon for him to come across a small, united bunch of Hollow. They could prove troublesome in his efforts at the enduring project he's currently tasked to, so for now he merely stands from afar at his dominant position on a rocky ridge that overlooks the small group.
"Hmm.."

As the creature rose over the bodies of the hollows, Satoru had a cat reaction of sorts. He arched his back and stood on his tip toes. He showed his teeth at the strange worm…snake thing. He didn’t like snakes. He REALLY didn’t like snakes. As the little girl began to speak to the snake thing, Satoru relaxed, slightly. His muscles were still tense. He didn’t trust snakes…he barely trusted hollows.
Littlewing Jaga? Strange name. When the girl spoke about saying hello, Satoru cautiously bowed his head. He really didn’t trust this creature. Then again, he didn’t trust ugly things.
As the girl continued to speak, Satoru kept his eyes on the “Jaga” creature but his ears were turned backwards, listening to the small girl. When she spoke of working with more hollows his ears laid back. He wasn’t a very “team-working” kind of hollow but if it meant avenging Ryuu, then he’d force himself through it.
Satoru’s ears twitched forward as the worm spoke. Bigwing? Another strange name. Was her name really bigwig though? Satoru continued to stare at the worm creature but his ear twitched. Someone else was here…
Satoru looked up to see the silouhette. He tried to focus, to get a better look but couldn’t.
”That a friend of yours too…Bigwing?”

"Kurohime Kurai. You may call me Kurai if you like." Her eyes flicked back to the wolf, studying his movements carefully. "You may relax. I will not allow Jaga to eat you." Once the words left her lips, the small arrancar turned towards the worm, her eyes narrowing slightly as she held out a hand to him.
"I assure you, Jaga, this is no disguise. I have become one of the broken masks we have always dreamed of. I know the secrets. And now, I will share the secrets with you. If you want to know them, that is." She waited several seconds, letting the giant hollow process the information she just spewed to the worm. "And, yes, Satoru-san. As I said before, this is the fri-"
Her voice trailed off as she moved her eyes back towards the wolf, his ears cocked forward and eyes focused on the horizon. Kurai spun around, following the gaze of Satoru, searching for a brighter heat signature. "Who's there? Come out, or you'll be declared the enemy!"

The wolf had called Bigwing "Bigwing" as well. The worm's chuckles continued to creep over the sand, dispersing into the dry air so that it could be heard all over the local area. Saliva dripped from his mouth, evaporating even before it made contact with the sands below, stretching into the air like a balloon pulled into too many directions. Still, a seemingly endless river of saliva poured from Jaga's teeth as he stared at the wolf, laughing.
"Bigwing Kurai is Bigwing since she has bigwings," he said. "But not anymore. If Bigwing says she became a brokenmask, Jaga believes." Bigwing certainly was a little on the small side now, though, wasn't she? Jaga didn't know much about the physiology of two-leggers, but he thought that Bigwing resembled their larval state somewhat, tasty and helpless. His mouth upturned in a smile and the salival torrent continued at the idea of feeding on the weaker two-leggers.
But he wouldn't eat Bigwing!
At the sound of an enemy, though, the worm sank instantly into the sands below. For a moment, all was quiet around the other adjuchas and the two arrancar, but then a rumble interrupted as sands churned in various areas nearby. Jaga was hungry, and Bigwing had said enemy, right? Surely even if it were strong, they could hunt together!
That meant prey!

Kurohime Kurai. Jaga. Sotaru. Bigwing.
Four names but only three bodies, quite confusing until the one assumed to be Jaga confirms it as a possible alias to the humanoid figure, Kurai. In the midst of his observation, he is seemingly sensed by the quadruped Hollow assumed to be Sotaru. As he watches the group, it appears from Kurai's hollering that indeed Sotaru had alerted the group of a spying eye. Arnold also noted that Jaga, the presumed snake, is aware but in the "snake's" frightened burrowing, the image of a slithering legless lizard was soon vanishing.
In the escalation of the given situation, and given the location of Arnold's elevation, Kurai's call out to the opposing Arrancar is well heard but her verbal threat is deemed avoidable. As there was still a sizeable gap to be closed if she wanted to follow through with such actions. But by then, Arnold could be well hidden in the intricate, narrow passages that riddle the underground. This was the Wastelands, he couldn't trust that if he stepped out willingly that his life would be safe. No, the chances of being ripped limb from limb were too high. A fool's bet. Within seconds of Kurai's shout are they given a reply. Arnold steps back to the right, stepping out of the boundaries of light and into the welcoming seclusion of darkness. For a brief second, in what seems to be his departure, a faint beam of reflecting light from the entrance strokes visibly across his fully intact mask. Then his figure was consumed entirely by the night, and from the distance is unable to be made.
Odd. An Arrancar with a full mask?

The arrancar had spoken her name and although Satoru did catch it, he didn’t budge a bit. He continued with his eyes locked on the figure before them. Kurai, as she had said, responded to Satoru’s comment, first thinking he meant the wormish figure. Even this didn’t budge the wolf; he wasn’t going to let this man disappear. Or perhaps the wolf was protecting the girl…
No, he just met her. Why would he protect her?
She DID know his father and she DID get upset when discovering his death. Perhaps the wolf felt a connection to the little girl. This confused him greatly; he was a hateful creature he didn’t bond with anything or anyone. He had no friends except for Ryuu who now lay in a grave that burned with Satoru’s hate. And to add on to the confusion, Satoru hated children. Why would he be protective over one he just met?
He figured he was just making sure he wouldn’t have to fight. Yes, that had to be it. Suddenly, he heard a noise. He took his eyes off the figure and glanced over at the worm. He had burrowed.
Satoru had yelled a sharp, ”NO!” but it was obviously too late. Either the worm was on the run or going in for an attack. Either way the wolf was sure this stranger would take it as a threat.
Sure enough when Satoru looked back the stranger was gone. Satoru felt something weird bubble within in him. He took a deep breath in and suddenly took a few steps in front of the child. It was obvious he was protecting her now, yet he still didn’t know why. The wolf towered over the child, almost by a foot. Although his posture was lowered, ready to pounce. The girl could possibly see over him. Satoru had his legs spread and bent. His head was lowered and facing where the stranger had been, although his eyes were scanning to try and see where the man was. His ears were flat against his head and his tail wise raised high. The fur along his spine slowly began to rise and a strange noise started.
Satoru didn’t recognize the sound at first. It didn’t sound like it was coming from him…the last time he heard something like this…he was protecting Ryuu.
He was growling. It was coming deep within his chest and pouring from his risen lips, out through the cracks of his visible teeth. It was a death threat. Warning the man if he came near Satoru, Satoru would kill.

Fight or flight. Her old instincts kicked in as she edge backwards, not wanting to cause a fight with this unknown enemy. Yes, she had sounded harsh, but even with her newly gained insanity, Kurai still had her old fight or flight sense and flight was starting to take its hold upon her frantically beating heart.
"We should go somewhere else, where we won't have prying eyes." Her fingers reached behind her, grabbing onto the hilt of her stiletto tightly, causing her knuckles to go an even paler shade. Sliding it from the sheath from her back, Kurai brought the dagger in front of her, crouching into a defensive position as she held a single digit of her left hand up towards the domed structure.
If the bright yellow blob of the new arrancar decided to fight, the smaller one would be ready with a blast of her cero.

Of course, it would matter little to the sandworm if the tasty two-legger decided to retreat underground. Jaga was used to dighunts! He loved it! The sands sang to him pretty songs of prey feet running and skipping on stones and slogging through softer sand. Murmurs of his target slipping this way and that, and he could hear it. Oh, how he wanted the two-legger to retreat so that he might give chase.
If one listened closely, they might hear the massive worm's echoing laugh.
Still, the sands churned a bit as the worm slid around, looking with his skin through the earth to the caves beyond. He saw the tunnels as they sloped down and the pretty little two-legger's footsteps back were barely decipherable against other smaller creatures twitching and squirming. Tasty preyfeet moving! It made Jaga hungry. Of course, he was always hungry, but the sound of prey he desired made him hungrier than ever, and beneath the sands, his mouth was collecting a large pool of saliva.
Slithering and crawling forwards, he knew how to persuade his prey to fall victim now. Deep, deep, deep. Into the sands and around behind the two-legger's position now... He snaked forwards a few meters before sharply turning to the right and then sharply to the left. He overturned dunes again and again as he sought to bewilder the creatures above. His target was not the two-legger yet. He was dim, but not so in the hunt. Those who were not smart enough to hunt did not survive.
No. His goal was to circle around behind the two-legger that had spotted them. He could drive the two-legger out, and Bigwing would take care of the rest. He could drive the two-legger to them, and then they would feed. As he took up residence below the tunnel behind the newcomer two-legger, Jaga waited for a chance to strike.
Feeding was Jaga's favorite activity.

With the given distance and height of his elevated position, combined with the sprawling and creeping of many other Hollow in the vicinity, the source of Arnold's exact vibration emission was not only well out of a ninety foot range, but was disguised amongst the populace of other lurking Hollow. Infact before the foolish Adjuchas gave chase, Arnold was already executing a flank maneuver to bring him around and behind the group of Hollow. Once having been devoured by the blanket of darkness, he already started to stealthily make his way. And during his advancement on them, he is deducing possible buffs and or abilities that would be carried in relevance to their appearance or form. Arnold already sized the worm up as having some sort of radar that allows it to travel without eyesight, but as for the other two it was still yet unclear what lay in their arsenal. It was safe to assume that the wolf had a pack mentality, given how it remained next to the little girl. So a direct approach was going to be nearly impossible, less he's fixing to be pinned by a wolf then devoured by a worm. Sounded highly doubtful. But here he was in the midst of encountering such an odd group. Arnold is behind Kurai and Sotaru around the same time Jaga had positioned himself behind what he thought to be Arnold. In reality, the worm was about to pounce on one of the town's notorious bipedal cactus Hollow, oddly enough they were commonly with masks resembling old style cowboy hats. These bunch of Hollow are known to be passive aggressive, relying on defense to fend off an enemy.
From his newly gained vantage point, in the ruins of one of the only still standing two-story buildings in this abandoned heap of rubble, Arnold's eyes loom sneakily not overhead, but from yet again from a distance. Still not having yet seen the worm resurface, he assumes the little girl had somehow commanded the worm to attack. That or maybe it was a coward and dug into the earth to hide. Arnold places his hand over the hilt of his longsword and he observes the group from afar, within the confines of an otherwise secluded, darkened room on the second floor. For now his task of harvesting minerals would be put on hold as his new objective, tracking Kurai, Jaga and Sotaru, is his primary goal. If they were hostile, he will most likely deem them a threat and at some point execute a task to eradicate them, but on the off chance that they were friendly, in that they had some reliable resource to offer or assest to act as, then maybe he could approach them directly. But at the moment the risk over reward was too great and so the Arrancar patiently waits with a watchful eye.

The wolf was still focused on the spot the stranger had been when the little girl spoke. Satoru’s ears twitched, turning towards her to listen. She wanted to run? But what about the worm like creature, weren’t they friends?
Satoru had to remember, hollows all think differently. Not all hollows had the touch of loyalty…the sense of packness. He wondered if the girl would turn on him in a second, stab him in the back? She knew Ryuu, so of course she wouldn’t…
But even Satoru had his doubts about Ryuu…why did that stranger take in the pup? Why did he train the pup? It didn’t make sense to the young wolf…but he still had his faith in Ryuu.
Satoru’s gaze didn’t falter, he didn’t move as he spoke. ”What of the worm, mistress? You want to just leave him?”

A low hiss escaped Kurai's lips. Her instincts fought with each other, wishing desperately to flee, but she had to prove that she was different now. That she was a true hollow. A leader. Digging her feet into the sand, the arrancar's defensive position becoming more firm. I will not run away. I am a hollow born from Neene. "You're right. We can't leave him. Keep an eye out for both Jaga and that stranger."
Kurai's eyes scoped out the domed structure, the bright heat of the arrancar gone. A curse left her lips. She swiveled her oculars from the left to right before slowly pivoting her small stature, searching cautiously for the assumed enemy. Her teeth chewed upon the insides of her cheeks nervously. This game of cat and mouse turned the little girl's stomach into violent butterflies, the sound of her blood pulsing loudly in her ears.
Breathe. You won't be able to make a counter strike if you're getting jumpy. Just breathe.

With his eyes upon Kurai and Sotaru, his mind is deciding whether or not it would be optimal to move forward toward the group. It would seem that his current location was prime, in that it was for the moment undisclosed but at any time could he be shaken if they decided to start running away. After mulling it over for another second he comes to the conclusion of closing the gap between him and the two (or three). Arnold moves from the window and exits the room, moving to the downstairs area before he exits out the backdoor and down the alley way. Within another couple minutes, he was entering the back of the of an old merchant's shop, the entire front of which was obliterated inward with rubble scattered along the floor. Carefully tip-toeing through the chunks of wall and splinted slacks of wood, Arnold eases up to the side of the blown wall, slowly peaking his gaze around the corner onto the landscape, to which his eye is immediately given sight to Kurai and Sotaru. Upon further inspection, he notices their stance. One of a defensive measure, as if they were protecting themselves from Arnold. Perhaps the worm really did dig downward in fear?
Arnold kneels down slowly and with his left hand he scoops up a decent size chunk of wall, about the size of his hand, and with a more than decent heave, he chucks the rubble overhead and out the large opening of the building he was occupying. Aiming for his projectile to land across the street and into the completely devastated structure on the opposing side of him. Immediately after tossing it, he would peer around the corner once more to see their reaction.

Satoru felt completely uneasy. He didn’t like this at all. He took a couple of steps towards Kurai, feeling her flesh against his fur. It made it a little better knowing she was still there. He smiled slightly when she mentioned not leaving.
Suddenly, Satoru spun around, lifting his ears high. He heard a sort of whistling noise. Thanks to his animal senses he heard the piece of building being hurled through the air. His eyes locked on to where it came from; his ears twitched as the building piece hit the ground.
He raised his lips to show his unusually large fangs.
”Stop playing around!” Satoru called out, staring at the building which the piece came from.

Once the chunk of rock clattered against the building, Kurai whirled around towards the source of the noise. The end of her finger began to glow with a crimson light. Her teeth were clenched tightly, heart fluttering wildly as adrenaline coursed through her veins. She didn't dare speak, allowing the wolf to do all the talking as she continued to search frantically for the arrancar.

Arnold remains with his eye peeked around the corner of the destroyed building, and while he can see them it would seem they weren't yet aware of his current position. So while still semi-unnoticed, save for his little distraction moments ago, he takes in their reactions and comes to the conclusion that they were taking defensive measures, as though there was an attacker in the area. Obvious they thought it was him, and now that he knew they weren't enemies, he had to defuse this situation he just created. Very lightly, else they may turn to enemies. With a cautious hand resting against the hilt of his blade, he slips out and into the open, directly twenty something feet down the street from the two. The man waits for one of them to notice him before he raises his left hand dismissively and asks in a nonchalant manner, "It would appear you're looking for a battle -- are you?" There wasn't much he could do to not startle them, but he did the best to seem at ease while maintaining his own protective measures.
