Well, that's not entirely true. Ra's Al'Ghul has been known to use magic. And Zatanna is in Batman quite a bit. Plus there are the Wonder Woman team ups and Professor Fate and so on and so forth. In short, there is often magic in some Batman stories/settings.
That said, I prefer the non-magic related settings.

In relation to Batman, or in general?

I'm listening to the Wheel of Time series of audiobooks. They too deal with magic.
I'm also reading the mortal instruments series and the new translation of The Witcher, which also deals with magical kind of things.
I don't particularly focus on magic, but three of my four projects are of magic relations. The fourth is a jack reacher novel. >,,>

I was tricked into reading a Jack Reacher novel under the impression it was standalone. It was not. Now it, like the X Prey series, I must seek the origin of and read. I am not pleased.

Taiga is pretty good. Considering I either spawn in it or water.
Forest is a good second, and plains is third. Like in real life, I despise the desert.

I think my favorite setting is from A Song of Ice and Fire. It has a nice variety of ecosystems and it feels like an entire world.
Some other favorite settings are the cities in the 1920's through 1940's (Legend of Korra did a good job on that one) and the land of Ooo from Adventure Time

So were talking fictional settings to? o.o If thats the case, I relly like Asian settings, either like in the first Avatar Season or any Wuxia movie (e.g Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and stuff like that). It has all the things And for the little Mincecraft I played, I tended to gravitate to deserts a lot. Anyone ever got to the dges of the map? << >>

Haru, was this PC or Xbox Minecraft? On the PC, the edge is about 30 million blocks from the centre of the world. It will take about two and a half months of solid non-stop walking to get there D=

While shivering and in between bits where I was delirious I finished that book I had been reading. Introduced a new setting in the world which highly peaked my interest, being one where the world of life and death were one and the same. Lots of dead things and mostly dead things going about. The way it was described, which I cannot come close to to give it a fair summary, just sparked something in my imagination. Was/is pretty damn neat.
Though I'd have to agree with Crazy on his favs as being good ones, though I'm not too terribly surprised he selected the one, lol.

I liked Xenoblade Chronicles. Civilisation has grown up on the bodies of two dead titans, one covered in lush green fields, warm jungles and snow-capped mountains, whilst the other is a more mechanical affair. And it is BEAUTIFUL!

I liked the world in Shadow of the Colossus. I spent hours not actually doing the goal and just exploring the world. Beautiful, beautiful ps2 game.

I've heard things. That most of the world is basically empty and pointless, which is kinda the point . Anyone here play Dear Esther?

Skyrims scenery is badass on the right system. I went from my dark and terribad tv to a vizio and was floored by the prettiness. The scenery, too, not just my Stormcloaks <,,<
I have not played that game, though I think it's on my list.

I've heard things. That most of the world is basically empty and pointless, which is kinda the point . Empty, from a certain point of view I suppose so. Pointless, not at all. If you don't like a game that's just pretty to look at while going from point a to b, then sure, not the game for you. But as I said, I wasted hours if not days my first few times playing it just climbing and exploring, finding details that I would assume more "I wanna get this done!" players would've missed. That and climbing to the garden of life at the top of the tower after grinding lizards and fruits for a month or so... Totally worth it.

Do you think there should be a tourist mode in the game? Though it is relatively linear, isn't it?
Also, Minecraft. Snapshot released today. Has a bunch of new biomes and an accentuated world type =D

That could be fun but yeah, for the most part the Bioshock games are kind of linear.
Is that a mod or some update? o.o
