Character Information
Name: Ethera Darkwood (E-thur-rah)
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Rank or Title: Wandering adventurer. Runaway. Trapper.
Appearance:Physical 5 feet 4 inches; about 119 pounds.(Original artist unknown.)
Constitution Wiry and athletic due to time spent in the mountains.
Poise Confident and energetic, in a sort of child-like manner.
Aesthetics Like most of her brothers, her eyes are a light hazel and her hair is a sort of chocolaty brown. Her skin is an olive color.
Standard Attire Favors a pair of overalls, hooded jacket and hunting boots when running about a town. Most commonly seen in anything but female attire such as skirts or dresses.
Battle Attire Most commonly used for hunting and traveling, Ethera wears light black, fur covered leather armor with bandoliers and other types of satchels all over-especially around her waist which she was given from her second oldest brother. When in colder environments or wanting to keep her identity hidden, she keeps her black hood up and mouth cover strapped onto the lower half of her face.
Formal Attire As she doesn't normally carry around any fancy dresses or other clothing fit for such an event, it varies depending on what she manages to borrow for such an occasion.
The manner of which Ethera holds herself is a confident, friendly one. She is rather easy to approach due to this, and quite frankly, would rather make friends with anyone and everyone rather than risk getting her hide beaten-especially by anyone taller and scarier than her.
She wears her thick brunette mane of hair in a ponytail most of the time. If fully straightened, her hair would reach approximately to the middle of her back. Her light hazel eyes glisten with an everlasting curiosity of everything around her, often fixing upon a certain feature of another's face in the form of a rather intent stare. Her skin is normally an olive color due to her constant shenanigans in the sunlight. In the summer her skin darkens quite visibly. Small scars of varying intensities cover her body, though none are too large to be blatantly noticeable unless one were to search for them.
Personality:Intimate: Childish and PlayfulShe is known mostly for her childish personality. She tries to be kind and optimistic towards most people she meets, wanting to learn as much as she can as fast as possible. It is advised to watch your items around her, however; she can be quite the thief of any small, sparkly trinkets that could easily be slipped into one's pocket. Due to her rather energetic nature, she often gets in far more trouble than she can dig herself out of.
Acquaintance: Friendly and Mischevious
Professional: Focused or Absent-minded - Varies
Unknown: Polite and Quiet
Dreams, Goals: Become Powerful | Have Fun | See The World
Likes, Loves: Shiny Objects | Exploring | Reptiles
Dislikes, Hates: Sour food | The Ocean | Most Dead Things
Fears, Phobias: Spiders | The Dark | Powerful Opponents
Unique Qualifier: ADHD
Ethera often fidgets with anything she can get her hands on, a trait earned due to her ADHD. She also has a tendency to hoard anything shiny or interesting she finds while no one is watching, be it candle sticks, jewelry or even broken glass.

"I used to live with my folks and six brothers up in Southpeak's northmost mountains. Their names were Quinn, Rizaak, Donny, Tilos, Ferkus and Lance! We'd hunt a lot, but I never really got the hang of using a bow or a sword or anything. I still gotta try, though. Being second youngest and the only girl besides Mama, my brothers'd beat on me all the time, so I had to learn how to punch 'em out really good. We'd even prank each other all the time. Well, we did 'till one of my older brothers, Rizaak got caught in a bear trap once and nearly lost his leg. Jeez, was Papa mad.. I thought he was gonna chop off my own leg too! ..What was I talkin' about? Oh, right! History! Why am I even telling you all of this stuff? Oh, whatever.
So sometimes lots of bandits would show up at our cabin. Y'know, try and kill the men and take the women. Usual stuff. So this one time when things were gettin' to be real bad, and we thought this big scary bandit was gonna actually get to kill all of us, my littlest brother Lance, well, he stepped up and started biting on that scary bandit's leg. He did that sorta stuff lots, mind you, since he was just a baby six-year-old. (I was almost seven. Big difference!) This big scary guy, he looked outright confused 'cause of this little guy's bravery. Anyway, this brute raised up his sword. It was big and curvy, like those swords pirates use to stab fish or whatever. I bet he was a pirate. Just as this guy tried to stab my little brother in the head, this big bolt of lightning came at him. Wham! It knocked that guy's curvy sword right outta his hand, all charred and stuff! Bet you can imagine this bandit and his buddy's faces when little bro Lance started punchin' at his leg, what with all these big flashes of lightning comin' off of him. They ran so fast, one of 'em tripped and lost his pants. Boy, did we laugh at 'em, too!
When everyone was safe, Mama and Papa started talkin' in private all secretive and stuff. The next day Papa decided we were gonna go to the castle up in Vertholt 'cause little Lance's so special. The big one Papa told stories about! I'd never been to such a fancy soundin' place before in my life, so I didn't know what to say. After we packed up a buncha food and our best clothes (Mama was gonna make me wear a stupid dress like hers. Yuck!) we went off traveling towards Vertholt. It was a really long way, and we got to set up camps and everything lots of the time. Me and my brothers got to play Bandits Raid lots. It's a game where we'd try and jump all over any people that passed by.
Soon as we finally got to Vertholt, well, me and my brothers were pretty speechless. So many people! The most people I ever saw before besides my family were 'round fifteen at a party. All the people were dressed in super shiny clothes with lots of colors. They looked at us real funny. I didn't get why then, but later Papa told me it was 'cause we were poor. We went on up to the super shiny castle all dressed up in our best clothes. (Mama got mad at me lots 'cause I kept taking off the itchy dress she made me wear.) I'unno what happened to little Lance, but he went away from the rest of the family to some special part of the castle to be with more special people. I wanted to come too, but they said I wasn't special enough. Hmph! It turns out, Lance was part of something called the 'Gifted' or somethin' like that, because of his flashy lightning super powers.
When everything was calmed down and Mama and Papa talked to the weird guy in the robes, we went to a house in the place where people live in so we could stay close to Lance. I didn't see him much after that, but he became something called an 'Order of the Sun' or something. Maybe he went to the sun to run around and hunt cloud deer in the sky. That's what my other brothers liked to say. Mama, Papa and my oldest brother Quinn got jobs in the marketplace. I wasn't allowed to come with them, so I stayed home with everyone else every day.
We'd play out in the streets lots those days. There were a lotta kids my age. It was fun because there were lots of shiny rocks and stuff all over the place. I was sad because I couldn't use my bow or sword or make traps any more, so me and Rizaak'd pull lots of pranks on everyone. It was hard at first, 'cause there wasn't very much around to use, but we founds lots of things to make new traps outta that wouldn't even hurt anyone too bad. I had to set most of 'em up though, because Rizaak was really slow and he couldn't walk good without a cane. On rainy days, Rizaak'd even take me to the tavern where everyone was usually workin' at. There'd be big tough adventurers all over the place, a million times scarier than the bandits I'd see back at my old home! Most were pretty nice, they'd even tell me stories sometimes.
That stuff only lasted a few years, though. When I turned ten, Mama decided it was time I learned to be a lady. Wearin' dresses, dancing, playing instruments and singing like some stupid tavern wench.. Blah! I couldn't say no to Mama, though. I didn't wanna make her upset, so I went along, learned how to walk 'n talk like a lady and wear sparkly skirts without takin' em off in the middle of the street. I don't mean to be ungrateful, though. Ever since little Lance got sent to the castle to become a super cool wizard knight, everyone in the family's gotten along great. We didn't have to worry about money no more 'cause everyone pulled their weight by then. Sure, it was real lonely with only Rizaak at the house, (Who couldn't do much other than get in the way.) but I wanted to do the same stuff as Papa and the other brothers did at least, not try and marry some stupid wimpy noble when I get older!
So after a year of bein' stuck prancing around in shoes that made my feet hurt, and learnin' to brush my hair all proper, I got sick of it and decided to run away. I know it was selfish of me, but I wanted to be a strong adventurer! It wasn't easy getting away, either. In fact, Rizaak found out 'bout my plan almost before I even figured I was gonna run. He's a good brother, so he didn't even say anything to anyone else. He told me I'd need to take clothes, food, weapons and maybe even a horse! I'd never rode a horse, so I didn't know what to do.
Soon as everyone was gone off to work that day and I was supposed to go off to my lessons, Rizaak helped me pack up some stuff for my great escape. Gave me his old armor-which I fit into fine by then, since I was about as old as he was when he got it and around three hundred gold coins my family'd saved up and some food for to keep me full for a while. The money lasted me 'bout a few months before I was really on my own.. Darn traps like to break a whole lot, and fixin' em's pretty hard.
As I'm heading out the door and saying goodbye to my brother, he suddenly stops me, grabs my hand all of a sudden and drops this ring in my hand. It's a real pretty one, y'know? It's silver with a gold design like one of those dragons people like to tell stories about. So he gives me this serious look, says that Papa wanted to give it to his daughter when she came of age for some reason, so I shouldn't lose it. I didn't really get it then, but I promised I wouldn't lose it and put it on my finger under my glove. At least it was shiny.
So I go out to the market all dressed up, buy a good broadsword like the one I used to use when I was little and a longbow with a buncha arrows. With all my supplies on me, I run outta Vertholt onto the closest road with no idea where in the world I'm going. Being a super cool adventurer can't be that hard, can it?"
