Standing at six feet even and weighing roughly 160 pounds, Malavai isn't lanky or overly bulky by any means. He sports a lean build, muscle evident -- even more-so with utilization -- appearing athletic but sturdy and strong. His poise, while seemingly fluid, takes a similar approach. He usually carries himself in high-regard, formal due to his heritage and upbringing. He keeps his shoulders straight and doesn't hunch, typical for most soldiers [enhanced with his nobility]. He uses this professionalism to guard himself, if one could look that close. Otherwise, he's at times rigid or well-mannered, depending on his current status or the circumstance he's faced with. His oculars are as deep as the sea, a shade of sapphire blue. His hair is short and well-kept, an onyx hue. His skin contrasts with the dark locks, a light, alabaster tone. A notable distinction is the birthmark [two small beauty-marks] on his left cheekbone.
His standard attire is typical, but one could tell based on material that he's from nobility. The boots are strong and lined with fur if the season is winter, usually a dark leather. He wears a cloak that can also be lined at the neck with fur, but it does possess a hood if he needs to have some sort of stealth or disguise. His gloves are silky, at times, more for his royal wear, and can also be lined with fur. His shirt and trousers are made of strong cotton material. But, because he is serving with Raewynne, he frequently changes attire to suit the needs of the mission.
In combat, armor is attached to his person, consisting of light plates of steel and chain-mail. It's of moderate weight, a bit heavier and stronger than a light armor [leather, etc]. He looks like the ideal image of a soldier, clad in a shiny uniform.
Formal wear ranges, but he can sport a suit that's akin to formal military attire or more customary shirts, boots, pants for the occasion. He does have an outfit tailored from time to time by his tailor back in Southpeak. He did grow up noble, after all.

Malavai is a very intricate character. Generally, some may say he seems bitter and cold, which may at times be the case; but he is typically warming up and becoming kind again -- though it's difficult to show with a guarded exterior.
Intimately, or if one were to know him on a personal level - like his sisters and Raewynne, Malavai can be lighthearted, joking mostly with sarcasm or dry humor. He is caring to those close to him, as well as protective. But, if in a relationship, he can be quite the romantic and chivalrous; although he can easily be surprised and flustered. If one tends to make a pursuit for humor or on a serious note, be prepared for shock, a bashful demeanor and a flustered expression. It's safe to say Malavai is easy to mess with, should one enjoy torturing him with those kinds of antics.
On a lesser intimate level, but still considered a friend or acquaintance, Malavai exudes a calm friendliness toward those he knows. He is mindful of what they have to say and how he speaks his mind -- which extends to his professional manner. Malavai is respectful and polite, patient if need be, which is a general trait found throughout his entire persona.
Professionally, as mentioned before, he is respectful, mindful, formal to the highest degree, hard-working and devoted to his work. He doesn't lash out at his superiors or stray from an order, usually. He will respectfully try and speak his mind -- and if that doesn't work, he might strike with a temper -- only if something is far-fetched or unreasonably evil.
When in the presence of the unknown, he is cautious and wary, watchful for any act of attack or betrayal. It might say he's mistrusting, but while he displays an aloof-type demeanor, he's actually observant and calculative; trying to gauge if the unknown is friend or foe. He will be resourceful as usual and tactful, dealing with a difficult or delicate situation with keen skills and sense.
His goals are to become stronger and obtain the true extent of his weapon's abilities, to one day settle down and further the line of the Eventine household, travel and experience a sense of adventure throughout the realm, reconnect with his surviving family members, rise in the ranks of the imperial army and eventually rule Southpeak with dignity and pride; hoping to never become bitter and cruel like his father.
He likes to travel, likes to give and receive respect, likes to train, organization with duties and missions, and his imperial duty. He loves his sisters and friends, even if he might find it awkward to show it -- being guilt-ridden and all.
Malavai dislikes criminals, fights and confrontation, messes of all sorts, deception on all accounts (he frequently complains about Raewynne's deceptive behavior). He loathes betrayers or enemies of the army and king, defectors and the like.
A constant fear on his mind is becoming like his father. He fears for the safety of his sisters and friends, not wishing to lose them. He would fear being unable to make his own path in the world, as well as dying and being unfit to rule Southpeak one day.
He is shy around women though guarded, but is easily flustered. He seems rigid in appearance, firm in stance, but quiet and always thinking. Maybe he has a bitter look on his face, sometimes.

Despite becoming the second child born to the Eventine household, Malavai was destined to uphold tradition as heir to govern the town of Southpeak. A male would always face that burden, although some might have thought it was a gift... Unfortunately, it wasn't what Malavai could call "fantastic." Still, entering life as a high-noble member meant a bright education about the world and many subjects; so he was fortunate enough to learn proper etiquette and teaching. Not only some of the highest studies did he receive as a child, but the tender care of his parents and older sister, Gwyneth. The two frequently ran rampant throughout the Eventine estate. It was a time in his life where he could truly say that perhaps he wanted to one day rule Southpeak. But, this happy beginning would soon fade.
His youngest sister Ellimere was born at the tragic end of his mother. He would never put blame on his sibling for killing their mother - no; but it was a grudge his father couldn't ignore or forget. From then on, Lord Barrett was miserable and bitter -- Malavai couldn't help but feel sorry for Ellimere: she'd grow in a household as cold as the mountain's peak. Despite his father's belligerence, which Malavai got the brunt of, the Eventine son did his best with Gwyn to keep Ellimere from harm; they'd even give her unconditional love, something so rare in such a bleak time for the Eventine household. Malavai swore to do his best to keep his sisters safe, but even he became a mirror-reflection of his father. It absolutely frightened him.
Enlisting in the army was undoubtedly an easy escape from his father's influence and tyranny. As much as he would regret leaving his sisters behind with the harsh old-man, Malavai couldn't bear the thought of spending more time in the presence of his father. But, his father was actually pleased with his decision, and he provided training in combat and tactics from his own knowledge reservoir, as well as hiring specialists to educate the lad. While he didn't necessarily leave Southpeak yet, he hoped a transfer of some sort would happen. Day-by-day, he could feel the transformation taking fold. More time spent with his father meant the burden of running Southpeak took a much greater toll on Malavai, and he could sense that he'd become bitter as his father had. Southpeak didn't need that again. With his training coming to an end, his father gifted him with an Eiphyre weapon, a sword of merit and abilities yet to be discovered.
In his occupation as an imperial soldier, his father did fear for his safety -- truthfully more for the lineage and rule of Southpeak -- so he thought it best to have his son swear allegiance to a stronger character. He met Raewynne Cousland, who was under the surname Fletcher for her own protection. He would then soon accompany Raewynne with her missions and tasks as Commander of the Claws, leaving Southpeak like he desperately wished. The two would tackle the wilds of the lands together, traveling for each assignment the duo would undertake. While guilt plagued him for leaving his sisters behind, he was ecstatic to get his freedom. He was finally away from his father's clutches, even if he already impacted him so.
Exploring the land with Raewynne, Malavai's freedom was short-lived when tragedy struck. He heard word of the deaths of his father and brother-in-law, returning momentarily to pay his utmost respects. This was also the moment where he could have stepped up as leader of Southpeak, but stressed with this issue, he realized he wasn't the best candidate at the moment. As much as he hated to admit, he had become similar to his bitter father, and Malavai didn't want that type of leadership to be repeated once more. Luckily, his sister took the role of matriarch, and he returned to his imperial duties.
Despite the bad events of that year, Malavai was dubbed the title "The Sentinel," or "The Banshee's Sentinel," more or less for his 'guard-like' attitude in battle. Not only that, but he managed to awaken his weapon's first ability during a dire and dangerous mission.
To this day, he still remains by Raewynne's side, learning the tools of the trade [fighting]. He treks far and wide with his companion and leader, feeling that she would have his back and he would have hers. Although he wouldn't like to admit it, he considers her a dear friend, and while he doesn't visit home much, he misses his sisters. Perhaps guilt for deserting them keeps him from returning. He's not fairly certain, but work is also a factor. One day soon, maybe...
