Arashi Shinku

Arashi stands at an average height of 5’7. Her weight, with the added muscle, is seated comfortably at 140. She has bright, bright red hair and dark, dark brown eyes. While she isn’t the palest of them all, she isn’t unnaturally tan. Her bright hair is kept up in a high pony tail using simple wrap bandages, allowing strands of hair to escape, completely covering her right eye.

While Arashi’s choice of clothes could be seen as sluttish, she sees it as strength. She wears a simple strapless bra, and then on top of that she has bandage wraps tightly wrapped around her; covering no more than just her breasts. On her left arm, she wears the typical fukutaichou armband for the first division. Her pants at first seem to be the traditional black hakamas but a closer look would reveal an actual belt line with loops and an inner white padding to the pants that show on the sides until it reaches the knees where the sides of the pant legs come together. As for her choice of shoes she wears black, thin tabi socks and then the traditional wooden zori with the rope toe thong.

As for other markings on her body, Arashi only has two tattoos. On her left arm, near her shoulder, she has a simple kanji tattoo of the word rebel, looking a bit like this 反抗, of course one kanji on top of the other. Her fukutaichou armband covers the majority of the tattoo, allowing a peak of it to escape the top and bottom of the armband. The other tattoo is on her right leg. It’s a detailed tattoo of various vine plants going down from her hip to her knee. Noticeable plants in the garden of vines are the black-eyed susan vine, gloriosa lily vine, grape vine, and the most vibrant the moonflower vine. The rest of the vines just seem to be a jumbled up mess, too messy to notice what it is from a glance. Of course this tattoo can’t be seen except for two moonflowers and a grape vine that rest on her hip, barely peeking out from behind her pants line. As for scars, Arashi’s body is scarless except for a simple line about an inch long on her right cheek, hidden behind her crimson hair.

Arashi will come off as a very rude, unladylike girl. She’ll be intolerable and hard to be around. She treats others as if they don’t deserve to live, as if she is completely better than them. She’ll not allow herself to show any emotions other than annoyed and anger. While she doesn’t mind being around other people she is more of a bystander than someone to step up and speak in a crowd of strangers.

While Arashi talks more, she is still rude and unladylike. She is a little more outgoing, allowing herself to be more part of the conversations going on in the crowd of friends. She is even meaner though, throwing out names and sarcastic comments, smiling only when someone has grown agitated with her. In this group she’ll allow herself to show a bit of happiness but mainly sarcasm and seriousness.

Arashi is still as rude as ever, if not more. But now she shows more emotion, allowing herself to show a small smile at things that truly make her happy. She is more prone to throwing out nasty names and laughing in the faces of the people she called said names. She finds herself consumed in being a part of this group, actively talking and reacting to things. She even as much as, on rare occasion, allows herself to feel sadness and utter happiness. Here, Arashi seems a complete different person from how she acts around strangers. Despite the whole name calling, rudeness and unladylike qualities.

Arashi was born into an uptight, strict family she never wanted to be apart of. After Arashi's mother died, she came to realize how cruel her family actually was. This was start of an idea of rebellion in Arashi's mind. One step to the rebellion was to join the Gotei 5 before he training was finished. Growing up she had heard about Malik and read about him, to her he was a celebrity. So meeting him was probably the best thing that ever happened to her. She never in her life though, imagined that she'd be given the choice to become his lieutenant. Although, scary at first, now she has become accustom to being Fukutaicho of division 1. Her pains and life have folded the once, quiet and busily kept girl into an outgoing and almost snobbish woman. At first showing a girl who is sweet, doing whatever she is told then becoming a joker, harasser but over all, a leader.

Snake Woman

Howa is unusually tall, standing at 7’1. Her skin is white; it isn’t pale, but white. Her hair is pitch black and completely straight, going all the way down to her knees, completely shiny and seemed to be kept in the best of conditions. Her eyes have no white in the eyes. They are yellowish green with a black slit going down the middle, like a pair of snake eyes. Her lips are pale with almost no color, besides a very faint tent of brown. Her face is clear and although she wears no make-up she is extremely beautiful, seeming to have completely flawless skin. Her neck is extremely long, and an odd feature to her is her neck has no vertebra like a snake’s. She can still hold her head up but she can also move her neck in ways a normal human cannot. All the way down to her feet, she is scar-less. Having almost what seems a perfect figure. Her legs are extremely long and make up most of her height. Her feet are scuffed and it is the only place where noticeable marks can be found.

Her choice of clothing is much like the Greek clothing style, very loose and very white. She wears a dress that is a V neck all the way down to her waist. The sleeves allow her shoulders to be bare while the rest of the sleeves cover and hang from the elbows. Around her waist look to what might be clothes made to look like scales, they are white with a tent of yellow. In the middle of this large belt lies a pure gold buckle with a golden rope hanging from it. The rest of the outfit is pretty simple; it’s just the skirt part of the dress. It’s white like the rest of the outfit, the front of it falls just to the end of her ankles while the back of it drags the ground by a good foot and a half.

Howa’s personality is very odd. Howa doesn’t seem to be all there in her head. She doesn’t speak often but when she does it seems to be either riddles or just rambling. Somehow, her ramblings end up making sense but…its likely Howa didn’t mean them too. Or perhaps she is more intelligent than she leads on to be. Howa often spends a large amount of time pondering questions that are stated at her. Sometimes this pondering can seem like she has even forgotten that she was being spoken to but giving her time, she’ll always respond. She is quick to irritate but she is always quick to forget why is irritated, often just glaring until she forgets why is glaring. She has a habit of making statements that are meant to make someone feel dumb…even though the question might have been a good question…if Howa knows the answer then the rest of the world should know the answer too. The main thing Howa can be recognized for is her sense of nature. Nature is always right to her, nature always has the answer, and nature is all mighty. Some might call her a hippy but she just sees herself as disconnected from the false reality others live in.

Universe In Water

The Inner World of Arashi’s Zanpaktou is a very odd world indeed. The world it’s self seems like an illusion. The best way to describe it is a tiny universe underwater. Although the universe completely surrounds everything everywhere you step ripples as if you were walking on top of water. The universe works as any universe, the planets spin around the sun and rotate on their axis. Some stars burst and become black holes. It is impossible to touch anything in the universe; the only thing that can be felt is the water which is all around where you step and if you reach out and try to touch a planet or star, it’ll just ripple like water. Ironically enough, there is still wind flowing through this inner world. There is one place in the world where you feel real, and it is a giant tree that rests on a planet that closely resembles earth. The Tree not only grows apples but oranges, coconuts, pears, and bananas. Several times, Howa is seen eating the various fruits that grow from this tree.

More than Brute Force

Although Arashi’s sword is a medieval weapon it is used for much more than brute force. While the back of the blade isn’t sharp and can be used just to beat someone senseless, flip the sword over and it’s extremely sharp. Not to mention, it has a tip on It so it can be used to stab. The sword is definitely a multitasker.

As for looks, the sword it’s self is very plain and simple. The hilt is made from brown marble, adding a few pounds onto the sword. Where the hilt and sword meet, a hand guard was placed to keep Arashi’s hand from sliding onto the blade. The blade is pure silver. It is extremely clean, surprisingly, and so shiny. The sheath is made from wood but painted black, the tip is held together by a silver cap as well is the opening of the sheath.

The blade it’s self is 19 inches long. It’s a short bladed sword, not meant to be incredibly long. Across the blade starts at five inches wide, staying this wide until it reaches 16 inches long, where the sword begins to narrow and become an extremely sharp point. The handle is four inches long without the silver piece, adding the silver piece on the bottom makes it five and a half inches long. The diameter of the handle is about an inch and a half. Due to all the pure silver on the sword, it is a bit heavy and seeing as it’s a single hand wielded sword, which causes it to seem much heavier. Although it is possible to grab it with two hands, it becomes hard to maneuver the small sword. So, even with a lack of strength, it is easier to use one hand.
