Character Information
Name: Absi Mac’Aodha
Gender: Masculine
Pseudonyms: Descendant of Obscurity; Mane of Chaos, Blacksword
Age: Twenty One
Rank or Title: Berserker Mage; Natural {Locked}
Appearance:Standing over the standard stature of a typical gentleman, Absi is six feet and two inches tall and weighs no less than one hundred eighty pounds. His detangled mane of white-blonde—which comes to lay flat against his back—permits four bangs to frame the characteristics of his well-defined visage while two decline and rest before his blue-green hued spheres. His hair often contrasts against his shadowy-dark complexion, his skin a mocha tan. Even so, the mass of the white-blonde mane streams behind the robust male's back, surging freely with his agile, yet resilient frame. His poise happens to aid in his defined-physique. Absi has an erect and dutiful stance, like a soldier or fighter, but also is courteous and respectful when need be. He doesn't tap his foot or doesn't grow impatient and exudes a skillful aura that he is quite a deadly match. He does seem quiet and the type to make dry jokes. His tattoo is a strange shadow-like symbol. More specifically, it takes the figure of a tree and an enormous beast. It is designed with great detail, and one is be able to tell it was rather painful to get done, but the sight of it is all the more remarkable. The tree is dead; however, the form of white flowers are on the branches while an enormous beast, black in color with mysterious silver eyes, is seen laying beneath the tree.[Artist Unknown]Physical - 6'2"; 180 lbs

Absi, on most occasions, wears dark clothes that look dusky -- and may have some sort of tinge of a color. He wraps bandages along the upper portion of his chest, as well as down the lengths of his arms; though this is significantly noted when he doesn't wear a shirt -- otherwise it wouldn't be visible. His standard attire consists of dark leather boots and gloves, a fine, soft cotton long-sleeved shirt and slacks, similar in color with the remainder of his attire. Finally, he can be caught wearing a silk robe of the same dark color.
Absi, when equipped for combat, wears the old-style leather armor--which allows for defense--while being graceful enough for him to move about easily and not be encumbered. Although the armor is traditional in nature, it stands out because of its complex combination of bear-hide and leather. The armor across Absi's torso holds the greatest patterns as well as fastenings, them being in the front and on the sides of his armor. On the segments of his armor, which align the side of the man's abs, are images inscribed in a coded language. They mean: Supremacy, Existence, Mortality, Clan, Determination, and Devotion. The rest of his armor is of the same build throughout his frame while only little sections of his flesh is exposed, such as places that would hinder his movement if armored. A large majority of the armor is leather, while patches of bear-hide can be seen distributed throughout different parts of the armor, concealing certain locations of Absi's frame. For instance, there is a patch of bear-hide on the right pictorial of Absi's chest, and another located on both of his forearms. However, the largest covering of bear-hide he wears is along the dimensions of his back. The upper claws comes to sit on his shoulders while the lower claws wrap around the length of his legs, and the beast's maw often sits atop the Descendant of Obscurity's cranium. Behind that is the strap for his partner, Mournblade.
Born as a high noble-class, he possess a wide variety of noble-wear; however, due to his actions and his ‘mercenary-like’ life style, Absi does not often partake in formal events. But when he does involve himself, he seems to make due for the situation. It will depend on the formal occasion in regards to what he will wear, all of which seemingly contains his family crest.
Personality:Intimate - Honorable; TrustworthyQuiet is a great trait to describe Absi, upon first impression. To those he doesn't know, he is very cautious and mistrusting -- he wouldn't dare put his life in the hands of someone he's never met before. And, perhaps this cautiousness might make him seem cold, but Absi would rather be safe than sorry.

On a professional note, when offered coin for his services, Absi handles the situation with respect. He is trained to work with people as well as his variety of skills, and collected. He's very calculating and formulating during the exchange as well as when undertaking the task. In a sense, he's tactful and resourceful, utilizing all within his grasp to get the job done.
If one becomes an acquaintance, he's curious about them, but still remains at a distance. That mistrust is still present, as well as the cautiousness -- he often questions the motives of others, especially if one is wishing to befriend him.
Intimately, Absi is honorable and trustworthy. He's not looking for a spouse, but if one becomes a dear friend or if one is a part of his family, they know they can count on him when needed. He is still a little cautious, though.
He is working hard to grow stronger, but he is uncertain of what his true goals are. Still, he knows he has a goal and purpose, so he is aiming to reach it everyday.
His likes include: animals, money and neutrality -- he's not one to meddle in the affairs of another unless paid and he doesn't like picking sides.
His dislikes include: cowards, power-hungry people, and those who are obnoxiously loud.
Absi has a few fears, which includes: being chained to a wall and imprisoned as well as a minor fear of fire, the element.
A unique qualifier about himself is his irritation with disorder. If something is put out of place, it really aggravates him and he has to correct it.
History:TimelineAbsi was born amongst the Mac'Aodha, a high noble family--located in Brittenhollow--dedicated to combat. He lived a standard childhood, blessed with education and the luxury of a high noble lifestyle. However, at the ripe age of seven, he was introduced harshly into the 'family business'. In the middle of the night, he received a rude wake up call and was pulled from his bed. Then, unexpectedly, Absi was pitted against his brother to do physical combat. He lost, of course, because his brother was trained at an earlier age and showed promise to be a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. And because he lost, he was proven too weak for the family. They dumped him into the woods and left him only a knife and a note. "Find your way back home. You are not to return until you can do so on your own." They expected him to fight in the army. It was tradition!

The first few nights were rough. He grew accustomed to being sheltered, this wasn't something he knew, at all. The wilderness frightened him and the first few nights were restless, but he became overtaken by a 'hunter'. It wasn't a physical hunter, but the sheer will in him to survive -- and possibly a vision. At that point, he was starving and barely stood on his own, but the hunter empowered him, made him want to live and made him want to return home. He killed what little creatures he could and slowly gained his strength back. Then he went about protecting himself from the dark creatures. During this time, he saw his first vision of the black, enormous beast's eyes, and they haunted him in the night.
But eventually he embraced this lurking, enormous beast and learned the first phase of his life. In his family, he was represented as the enormous beast. He was considered quick, shadowy and nimble. He started to hunt this way and eventually made his way back home, beaten, broken and tattered but alive. The first trial would be completed, a span of a week and few days -- even if time seemed much more stretched than actuality.
After returning home, Absi was welcomed in the household once more -- he survived and proved himself worthy to continue the start of his training. His family had a shred of respect for the child once more; knowing that, maybe, their methods were unorthodox and harsh, but proved good results. He spent a year mending the relationship between his family, although it didn't take quite as long to recover from being outside in the woods during his 'banishment' test.
At the age of nine, Absi agreed to begin his trials of the Mac'Aodha clan. There were ultimately a series of three tests, all for one product: creating a warrior for the imperial army. So, the first test was of the Mind. In a few years, Absi studied lore upon lore of magic, weapons, battle strategies, and combat, which included many subjects. He also endured a compact education on general studies, until he was prepared for a test of wit. The man would answer a series of questions, but it wasn't only about correct statements, no. It also involved the mentality, reaching a calm that would benefit the military and missions. He aimed to be tranquil and not let nerves get the best of him, which allowed him to overcome his first trial. He was learning the mentality of a soldier, and formed his neutral stance -- if he needed to execute, he had to deliver, no matter the circumstance.
Success would not linger for a long period of time, for the next phase was quickly on its way. With no more than a day or two of rest, Absi would find himself down the path most difficult to overcome: Body. The path of the body would take him through the lands of the world. Here, in this path, Absi would come to face the natural environment and build upon his endurance. Not only that, but he would come to learn more about himself while applying the wit and knowledge he gained from the previous trial. The events of the 'body' would make Absi's frame more... welcoming to damage. Here, he built endurance, durability and resistance. In the first stage, he gained knowledge, and in the second phase, he applied what he learned and used it to forge a new meaning for himself and how to control his instinct.
Little can be recalled about this section of Absi's history, for most of it took place in darkness, and every time Absi attempted to reconnect with this part of his life, he would only come to a blank. However, what he could draw forth from the pool of his complex mind, was the pain that surged through every inch of his person. No part of him was left untouched, and that was for good cause. This was the final trial of Absi's training: Spirit. This trial would force him to know himself and understand himself in reasons that would forge a balance around him. This balance would be the main reason he acts as he does currently. And although he could recall bits and pieces of intense, physical torture, his body holds no physical signs of this. The scars he's gained from these events deal with those on a mental and spiritual ground, wounding him deeper than anyone ever could. It is because of this that he draws himself away from people and does not trust easy. Another thing that came from this phase of his life would be the understanding of his choices and his motives. For now, Absi did not know why he existed, but he knew he wanted to live. The trial of spirit forged a new man all together, but he did not know it at the time.
With the final trial completed, it was time for Absi to return home. At this time, he was due a long earned time of relaxation, and he did. This year of relaxation would force Absi to think on all of the trials he faced in life, and what he took from it. He was forced to think on what he would become and what he was, an answer he did not come across until the next year, which is when he had captured his first glance of how he would like to see himself in the future. This year, the year of 1998, was when Absi came to realize he was not designed to be in the house, nor was he created to serve in the army. The army life was not a life designed for him; the army could not teach him anything new, for he had gained all of the knowledge he needed to survive. Serving in the army would serve him no purpose.
Not only that, but he would not find anything worthwhile, and so forth down the line. All-in-all, Absi found himself without want to continue that life, so he finally stood up for something and spoke to his parents and his family. It was during this time that he decided to step down from the family path and forge a path of his own. He informed them that he wanted to become a Mercenary. He wanted to be a man that traveled and existed on his own terms, and that's what he did, but at a price. For the most part, he could hold the name of the family, but he would have to find his own way to gain income; this way, he would prove himself worthy in his wealthy parents' eyes.
A shame... a true shame it was, but it only made Absi grow harder as a person. Life moved about swiftly after that, or so he thought, and then, driven to find meaning in life and not use the money he gained through his family. Before he departed, he was given the final right of his family, and that was to forge a blade with his own hands. This blade, the one he forged, would be given the name Mournblade. And that began the start of his adventures. These adventures would become marked as his final trial; this was something he had to overcome, and he knew it would take more than a year or however long it took him to complete the other trials. In fact, this would carry him through the rest of his life, but he would not be returning home any time soon. But all was not lost, for he soon found the embrace of a contractor and soon formed his first contract. It was a mission of deadly consequence, and his life was on the line. Not bad for a first mission, he thought, and he was willing to die then, but knew well that it would take an army to best him after the events of his trials. Regardless, he accepted and not only received a sum of coin, but gained two titles in the events. The name--he gave when asked who he was--Mane of Chaos, Blacksword, was born; a name that he would carry with him heavily on his shoulders, for Chaos was his life, and he wore it proudly on his as a mane; however, it was not the only name that stuck. This mission was a dark one, and he decided to attack during the night to better his chances. Thus the name Descendant of Obscurity came to light.
Absi was a man born of the enormous beast, yet a descendant of the darkness. The night was his calling, and he used it to his advantage.
To this day, Absi resumes his mercenary business, trying to forge his own path, still.
