Unlike any other governing military bodies within the great white city of the Shinigami, the Onmitsukidō Lair is completely hidden beneath the ground. Located directly below and around the Central Forty Six's meeting grounds, the main Onmitsukidō headquarters are quite small in comparison to others. It's only two stories of underground levels which take the shape of a complete and perfect circle.
The upper level contains both the shared barracks of the officers serving within these ranks, the mess hall along with surveillance rooms which allow those working and living here to keep an eye on both prisoners and those they are to protect. This system is not terribly advanced and uses a network of Hell Butterflies and the Reversal Counter Measures department to relay information back and forth, keeping the main HQ up to date every half hour on the most sensitive of issues.
In the lower level one can find the training areas in which the members within this core learn their secretive combat arts. These rooms are each lined with thick iron, to shield against the sometimes explosive forces within. It is also in this lower level that members can find the common library. Unlike others, this library does not hold it's corps' secrets but instead simply holds information on prisoners, trials, those in power, and Onmitsukidō members.
Branched from this main circle are dozens upon dozens of networked tunnels which are so complex and well hidden throughout the city, if one does happen to find themselves within one, they will be lost and perhaps even die in them. Most of these tunnels simply lead from and to the HQ, allowing members quick access throughout the city in case of emergency. Some of these tunnels lead to jail cells which are so deep within the ground and rock that it is nigh impossible for anyone to escape without using said tunnels. The jail cells are lined with Sekiseki stone, and as such members guarding these cells need to be able to defend themselves without the use of their Shinigami abilities.
Another tunnel leads out of the city and into to the Maggots nest, in which members of the Detention Unit dwell. Here the Detention unit calls home, more than the core Division, as such living quarters are built into the stone for them to reside when they are on a prolonged stretch duty.
The office of the Soshireikan, if one could call it an office, is below the second level of the main HQ. Instead it is a living area split into four distinct sections, split into sub-levels which are not actually closed off from one another. The first and most direct sub-level is the Soshireikan's working area or office.
The second is a small training area in which wooden, stone and animal fleshed dummies are lined up along the wall in which the Soshireikan uses to hone his hakuda abilities without risking harm to another soul.
The third is a round floored library which contains detailed histories of every past Soshireikan's experiences along with newly acquired information on the Four great noble houses, those serving in the Central Forty six, and peoples of interest within the Gotei and Kidō Corps, though this information is not as detailed as the Soshireikan would like.
The forth and smallest is a sleeping area in which the Soshireikan more often than not, rarely uses. Here one can find a cot and a washing basin. Otherwise it is pretty bare.
The overall appearance of the networked tunnels and various rooms within the Onmitsukidō is rather gloomy because of the lack of natural light and the constant damp stone surrounding those within. Almost every square inch is lined in thick stone which for some unexplained reason, seems to glow a soft, some might say, subtle green. Members have been known to guess that the absorption of prisoner's reiastu over the years has caused these stone halls to mutate. The reishi of the stone infused with the energies gathered by the many prisoner's caused an unforeseen reaction. Because of this, no lanterns, torches or candles are truly required anywhere within this large network of stone rooms and corridors.
