Ryuu grinned to himself as he watched the small village. It had been a few weeks since he had noticed it and in the meantime he had assembled a raiding team and had sent a few men in to do some reconnaissance. What he had learned was quite interesting. That there were somewhere between fifty to seventy soon to be victims half of whom were adult men. However the juiciest bit of information was that the men of the village were all ronin who had decided to stick together and settle down.
With this piece of information, Ryuu had planned accordingly and soon he would lead the attack. Taking note of the time, Ryuu could tell that it was most likely past midnight and sent one of his men to signal the second group to begin their attack. Leading the remainder of his men towards the village, Ryuu directed small groups of them to different points of the village in order to ensure that no one would be able to flee.
Once his men were in position Ryuu began to count in his head in order to pass the time. Once he had made it to one hundred, Ryuu's smile widened when the second team lit several of the houses on fire to signal the attack. Happily skipping into the town as several of his men gave war shouts and charged into several of the homes, Ryuu couldn't help but laugh a little. "I can hear the screams already." Ryuu said to himself as shouts arose from the houses. Listening to the screams from the houses that the bandits had already entered, Ryuu was also aware of the sounds of several fights breaking out.
Continuing to stroll through the town, Ryuu jumped back when he noticed a knife land in front of him. Noticing the man who had thrown it, Ryuu grinned underneath his mask and sidestepped another incoming knife. "Seems like someone needs to improve their aim." Ryuu said to the ronin as he took out his cleaver and began to calmly walk towards the ronin. Using a shunpo to carry himself to the side as the man threw a third knife, Ryuu then charged at him and began to laugh. Slashing at the man's throat, Ryuu's attack was blocked by another knife that the man had taken out. Noticing that his other hand also had a knife in it, Ryuu moved back in time to avoid having his own throat slit.
About to move in for another strike, Ryuu was then caught by suprise when a second ronin came out of nowhere and bashed Ryuu to the ground with a shield. Quickly rolling to the side as the second ronin attempted to skewer him with his katana, Ryuu then saw the incoming knife and knocked it away with a swing from his cleaver. Quickly moving to his feet, Ryuu used another shunpo in time to avoid a second shield bash from the other ronin.
Facing the two men, Ryuu noticed that they both seemed to be well coordinated in their attack. While he knew he could take both of them on even if they were well coordinated, Ryuu still saw no reason not to throw them off. Figuring that baiting one of them into striking would be his best bet, Ryuu cheerily said to both of them, "I have to admit that you both are pretty good. I can't wait to see what your families are like. I'm sure my friends would just love to meet your children."
Noticing that the shield man gave a small growl in response to this, Ryuu began to circle around his two foes. Watching as they both shifted positions to keep up with them, Ryuu could see that he had struck a nerve with him. "I can tell that we'll have so much fun with them. It'll be quite educational. And I can promise you that they will be smiling a lot afterwards." Ryuu continued as he made a smiling motion with his cleaver. Chuckling as he successfully managed to bait the shield man, Ryuu prepared himself as the man gave a roar of rage and charged straight at him.
Hardening his arm and creating a spike in the middle of his palm, Ryuu made a quick jump to the side in order to dodge the man's shield bash. Bringing the spike into the man's arm as he swung the katana, Ryuu felt his arm tense with pain and struck at the man's throat with his cleaver. Feeling the cleaver slide along the man's throat, Ryuu smiled as he heard the musical gurgles the man made as he fell to the ground clutching at his throat.
Noticing that a knife was coming his way, Ryuu brought his hardened up and felt the knife bounce off of it. Savoring the suprised gasp the other man made when he saw that his knife had no effect, Ryuu said, "Now where were we?" Slowly advancing towards the knife thrower, Ryuu then broke into a charge and aimed another strike at the man's throat. Pulling back as the man sidestepped and slashed at him, Ryuu began to circle around the ronin and laugh. Making a few feints at the man, Ryuu giggled in delight as the man jumped back in alarm.
Deciding that it was time to finish the ronin off, Ryuu made a quick step forward and aimed a slash at the man's arm. Taking the man off guard, the attack was successful and caused the ronin to drop his weapon in suprise. Taking advantage of the oppurtunity, Ryuu quickly struck with his weapon and opened the man's throat with his cleaver. Pushing the man away from him, Ryuu happily skipped away from the gurgling figure in search of new prey.
Hearing a yell, Ryuu recognized it as the voice of one of his men. "Seems like someone else is also putting up a fight." Ryuu said to himself as he ran to the source of the noise. Noticing the corpses of several of his men, Ryuu faced the ronin who had dispatched them and began to size him up. Noticing the man had armor and a spear, Ryuu guessed that the man was a guard who was fortunate enough to be on duty during the attack.
Giving a wave to the man, Ryuu was interupted when the man stepped forward and aimed a thrust at Ryuu. Barely managing to sidestep in time, Ryuu felt the tip of the spear cut across his side. "He's fast." Ryuu thought to himself as he moved back and began to circle around the spearman. Feeling the cut to his side begin to heal, Ryuu began to harden his free arm and have it grow into a shield. Bringing it up in time to block a second block that was aimed for his chest, Ryuu felt his arm get pushed back into him. Bringing his entire body forward, Ryuu saw the spearman step back and attempt to hit him by swinging the spear like a staff. Ducking down and jumping forward, Ryuu was hit in the shoulder as the man brought the spear down on him. Ignoring the pain in his shoulder, Ryuu focused on closing the distance between himself and the spearman.
Noticing that the spearman dropped his spear and went for a sword, Ryuu brought his hardened arm up in time to block the sword strike that the man unleashed. Pushing the sword back and towards the ronin, Ryuu saw that he had created an opening and swung his cleaver at an open spot in the armor that was located at the throat. Grinning as he felt the cleaver connect with flesh, Ryuu then knocked the gurgling ronin towards the ground and began to stomp on his head.
Laughing happily as he continued to stomp the man's head in, Ryuu eventually stopped when he ran out of breath. Taking deep breaths, Ryuu surveyed the results of his work and smiled with glee. Signalling to one of his men to come over, Ryuu said to him, "Have we finished off the rest of the ronin?" Having his question answered with a nod, Ryuu dismissed the bandit and went off to loot one of the houses that wasn't on fire.
