I will be doing this both from an IC and OOC perspective because there's some stuff I need to clarify and announce. I'm sorry that it's taken so long, but I had a lot of stuff that I needed to make sure I covered correctly so that the tournament can proceed as smoothly as can be expected. Hopefully. I will do the IC part first. The OOC information will be at the bottom in another spoiler tag.
Sometime after the arrival of the boats and the disembarking of the participants who had been on them, the air started to crackle above the heads of the masses throughout the entire area. Thin lines in the sky beneath the barrier began to form before splitting into small cracks. from within these cracks, an all too familiar voice resonated out, saying, "Fufufufu, congratulations on making it these far, dearest puppets. Your benefactor sends his regards and expects you all to put on quite the show for his research."
The word 'research' seemed to amuse the ghoulish creature as its voice burst into a fit of giggles through the rifts that had been created. After a moment, the laughter subsided allowing normal speech to resume. "The rules are simple! Each group of three will fight another group of three. The fights however, will be solo. The team with the most individual wins will move onto the next round. At the start of each round, your opponents will be announce. Please, attack one another like you mean to kill, but death blows will be stopped by the... aides which you all met earlier. See, dying rather hinders the research..."
Again he giggled for a moment before continuing on. "Ahaha, excuse me. Anyways! Your fights are thusly; Kenshiki versus Derips Ardyh, Daidouji Malik versus Obselisk Ulquioza, and Howaito Shikyo versus Shikome for the first team fights of the first round. The second group is Akitsu Shuu versus Yubei Kohi, Kaito versus Hyurch, and Ping versus Akimoto Senako. The final groups for the first round will be Sheng Maiku versus Shouene Hinoiri, Mutabara Taiko versus Edward, and Izayoi Aki versus Ryuu. It should be mentioned that the team who wins from group three will not participate in round two. They will fight the winning team of round two in the final round."
There was silence in the air where the information had been coming from as the announcer let the information sink in to those that it mattered to. All of which seemed to be stretched across the area in different places, but after a moment, he started to speak yet again. "The fights must take place in the rings designated for the tournament fights. I'm sure many of you have noticed that you can't actually use your... unique talents because of the barrier over head. When inside the ring however, those that are there will be able to do so, while those on the outside cannot interfere. You are free to start your matches in your own time, but if you try to avoid doing so, we will... find you and we are very... persuasive. If you can find someone to substitute in for you that is of your own... background, you may do so. Round two will begin several days after the eventual end of round one to give everyone time to... regroup."
Yet again, the creature began to laugh and wheeze in amusement as if the whole thing was just a large joke to him. He stopped, eventually. He always did. "Anyone who is capable of healing may reside at the healers' tent near the rings. You will be able to use any benevolent abilities inside. Like I said, deaths would be bad for research. Now! For all you doom and gloom naysayers out there, behold! There will be quite the reward for the winners of the tournament. Let's just say... it'll be life changing!" And then... silence. The cracks sealed up until space was rift free, like nothing out of the ordinary had happened. However, many of the spectators began to move toward the audience area.
So here it is, the continuation of the tournament! I will be breaking it down simply so there wont be any OOC confusion about what was said in the IC post!
One: Don't forget that everyone had to signup with a name. Many of you used aliases. This did not happen so long ago that your characters wouldn't remember. It's probably been two hours at most. So unless your character as a brain full of holes or suffered some terrible injury which addled their mental capacity for the moment, you'll more than likely remember. For you guys OOCly, it has been awhile since you registered the aliases, so here they are, aliases and then the actual character for those that used aliases:
Now, in addition to all the stats, SP, Exploit Points, EP in the case of Leiko, and EXP you will be getting from your fights which will be graded like spars, which is why you can't spar/train at the moment, you will also be getting this 'life changing' prize mentioned in the post. Now what this prize is, is a new introduction to our system to help make your character even more unique to other characters.
Those of you from SR should remember perks. This addition is based on that concept, but far more individual based on the character. Basically, in certain events or missions, you will be given or stumble across a type of energy. This energy will always be within a container so that you do not active it's effects right away. The effect that the energy will have upon your character will be to allow you to combine certain traits, skills, or abilities that your character has, into one unique ability. The ability would have to be registered for approval and you would have to do a training where you unlock the energy and master the new perk. But it'd be nothing like what those of us from SR remember for the requirements for perks back then. Now, you can get more than one of these perks if it does happen through RP, but you only get one big one. I also suggest to the winners of the tournament who get this prize to wait until you have better skills and abilities before using the perk, because the better the skills or abilities or whatever that you combine, the better perk you can combine it into.
Substitutions are only going to be allowed if one of the participants cannot be on OOC. This is too prevent the tournament from being delayed even more so. The substitute must be of the same faction as the person swapping/swapped out.

Kenshiki - MalikNow, you can start your fight anytime OOCly and ICly, because that makes it easier on you guys to plan between the two/however many RPers when its a good time to meet up. There are three arenas in which you can fight and when in the arena area, you can use all your abilities, I would like if each group stuck to one arena so that every group can have one fight going at a time. Kagami, because your character wont be in the arena area, your abilities still will not work. Characters will medical based abilities can sit in at the tournament arenas in a healers' tent where they will be able to heal. I will personally have Kiki down there. Death blows wont happen because joining this tournament was made mandatory rather than voluntary and I wasn't going to force you guys to join something that could lead to your character's death. If a death blow were to occur, it would be stopped by interference from the skeleton things. This is the only event from this point on that will be specifically a no death thread, aside from spars. Killing shots will also be prevented outside of tournament fights. If you're looking to kill off your character, please do it elsewhere.
Malik - Katsu
Shikyo - Kimiko
Shikome - Leiko
Shuu - Shikome
Kaito - Shirio
Ping - Akuhei
Kohi - Kokuhi
Hyurch - Souren
Maiku - Hiroshin
Aki - Kurisuna
