A variety of animals exotic and commonplace fill the pens and cages of the petting zoo, the center attraction of the midway set between all of the shops. Most of the habitats the animals are confined to are set up as mock natural environments filling the area with trees, greenery, rocks, and even small ponds. The air hums with the sound of life from these creatures; growls, roars, chirps, gurgles, and every sound in between can be heard mingling with the chatter of the humans and other linguistically adept races milling by and around the petting zoo. Despite many exotic animals filling up space, there are four which stand out, even from them.
Each of these four creatures has a special glass cage unto themselves to prevent them from wrecking havoc among themselves or the other animals. The glass, as stated by a special sign outside each, is of a special make. It allows reiatsu and the like to flourish beneath it yet not effect it much like the Quincy's fabled reika gurasu, also known as soul-synthesized glass. Informative plaques adorn each of the cages, giving descriptions of each beasts' special abilities, for they are quite special in regards to animals.Andrewsarchus - A creature which uses teleportation to invisible reiatsu-sigils that it has placed upon various surfaces.Their abilities are not the only odd things about the animals as they are quite odd looking as well; a draw for many reasons in the end. As they cannot always be seen in their habitats, descriptions are listed on the plaques as well.
Jersey Devil - A creature who creates an astral-projection of itself, only visible to viewers thanks to the special make of the glass cage. The projection can share information with the creature
Hoop Snake - A creature who can freeze time whilst rolling around for short periods of time; to a viewer it would appear to be teleportation though it is not.
Jackalope - A creature capable of freezing objects in space for short amounts of time upon contact with feet; the slots within its cage are for throwing small (supplied) sticks at it for demonstration.Andrewsarchus - A feline-like creature standing roughly six feet tall on all fours, ground to shoulder; it's jaws are nearly two-thirds as long as the rest of it's body, though it's massive teeth are alternatively flat and sharp, hinting at it's herbivore nature.
Jersey Devil - A ten foot tall creature that stands on two hooved feet, altogether lanky and thin. It's legs are reverse-jointed, allowing it to leap high into the air, though this is restricted by it's cage, and rather than arms it has two long bat-like wings. It's chin is sturdy and round, allowing it's large flat teeth to generate crushing amounts of force.
Hoop Snake - A ten foot long snake who's only truly defining physical feature are the short 'treads' running the length of it's back. When desiring to move rapidly, it will curl in on itself and 'bite' onto it's own tail, allowing it to roll about at will.
Jackalope - A short white-furred bunny with dark red eyes; it's fur is decorated with soft-brown splotches, and it waves a set of tri-pronged antlers about menacingly when it hops, as though prepared to gore it's prey.
