Name: Mutabara Taiko
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Faction: Humans
Rank: Archer
Appearance:
Personality: Always a quiet one, but never lets it interfere with his work, Taiko rarely speaks but to offer a rebuttal in a conversation if he wants to participate. He has a strong conviction to whatever he does, going with it until the end. The same can be said of his beliefs, as he is one who doesn't like the change in the status quo.
History: Taiko was born into the world of normal human, his family the ever faithful followers of the normal way of life. From his birth, they wanted him to be an outstanding member of their family. Training him from the age of 5, the first thing he was taught was to climb the trees around the area, giving him some acrobatic abilities when it came to climbing. He was adequately versed in most ranged weapons by 18, and came to understand through this that he also needed to know some hand-to-hand skills as well in order to survive should he need them or be caught without his bow.
This also culminated in the idea of “catching an arrow” mid-flight. Unfortunately, Taiko’s father pointed out this was near impossible, and threw a piece of lumber at the boy, which smacked him in the head. During his next few years, his father would do this sort of thing whenever he thought of something outrageous, odd, or when Taiko couldn’t even do a part of his training. This “training” allowed Taiko to dodge the piece of lumber later in his life and sometimes catch them when they were thrown at him.
When Taiko turned 21, he took a job that required stealth to take out a gang leader in a nearby village, which the people were thinking of rebelling against. During this mission, it was slightly botched as Taiko managed to start fight the man, but it was hard for an arrow user to fight against a sword user. Tossing aside his bow, Taiko pulled out two arrows and tried to stab at the man with his skill, but the man was fast with his sword, and cut Taiko across his back. Falling to the ground, the man came in for the killing strike, but Taiko got a sudden burst of adrenaline and rolled to the right, surprising the gang leader as he brought up his left arm and the arrow sliced his neck, killing the leader instantly. Taiko took his reward and departed back to his home.
At 24, he started thinking that he needed to figure out a skill unique to himself, that only he knew. While pondering what to do, he entered a nearby village and sat down at a bar, drinking a cup of sake while listening to the sounds from a koto. After a few minutes, it dawned on him. While the musician was playing, the nearby sounds were drowned out, Taiko couldn't really hear anything but the soothing music, and he quickly paid for his drink and left.
Training himself harder and harder every day, he figured out what to do. He strummed the string of his bow, noting the small noise it made. He strummed it one more time, fitting an arrow quickly into it and fired, a high pitched sound coming out, Taiko wincing at it until the arrow hit a tree, and it stopped. He continued to practice in a nearby forest, constantly trying to hit that tree in the same spot over and over again. After a year of training this way, and being accurate with his shots and quicker with his sound attack, to the point of where he was doing it unconsciously during combat. Taiko continues to hone this attack, and his other expertise’s so he can use them at any time in combat.
As his journey continued, Taiko would meet many a friends. Lyra, Mihamaru, Kenta, Kagami, were just a few. However Kagami had asked him to protect her, and placed a seal on his back so she could help him. This was then preceded with the appearance of a figure in the sky, asking him to come to a tourney, where Taiko would have to go.
