Profile Information
Name: Kurugari Kimiko
Alias: The Silent Assassin, White Death
Gender: Female
Age: 400 (Appears: 25)
Faction: Shinigami
Rank: Onmitsukidō Executive Militia Officer
Reiatsu Color: White
Reiatsu Aura: Paranoia... Pure, untouched paranoia... When Kimiko flares her reiatsu her enemies will begin to feel paranoid and begin to feel like they are being watched from the shadows.
Appearance:
Standing at no more than 5'0" tall Kimiko isn't what one would call intimidating. In fact her short stature used to cause her many issues when it came to people picking on her and not taking her seriously... However what she lacks in size she makes up for in speed and fighting ability. She is incredibly agile and her speed is her strong point. She keeps herself in top physical condition to allow her to do her job without issue. While she doesn't appear to be very strong she is actually quite powerful and those who underestimate her never make that mistake twice if they manage to live through their encounter with her.
Personality: Depending on who you ask you may hear many different things about Kimiko... While she tries to appear as respectful to the other Captains and loyal to Soul Society as a whole... Her fellow squad mates see her as a full fledged hardass... To a degree both are correct, however, she tends to hide her more demanding personality while in the presence of the any Captain, especially the Sōtaichō. When she's with her squad however, she demands nothing but the best from them and will never allow any of them to slack off. Being a member of the Onmitsukidō she needs to maintain a high level of alertness and readiness should there ever be a need for her to act. On top of this she is an officer within the Executive Militia and as such is looked at to be one of the best of the best and those who work with her can be nothing less than that.
However, there is another side to her that only those within the Onmitsukidō have seen. She is insanely loyal to Soul Society, yes, but even more so to her squad. While she may push them hard she would never ask them to do anything she wouldn't be willing to do herself. On top of that she would protect them all with her life should she have to as she knows they would do the same for her. As such those of the Onmitsukidō respect her fully.
Aside from this there isn't much more to her. She has tried to have a social life outside of the Onmitsukidō but so far nothing has come of it. So until she has a reason to think otherwise her life is the Onmitsukidō and Soul Society and nothing will ever cause her to go against them.
History:
~The Good Life~
400 years ago, after the war between he Shinigami and the Hollow had ended, life within the living realm was beginning to return to normal. At least as normal as it could be after such a war. Stories began to pop up around the villages but most people tried to forget about the unexplainable disaster. However in one village lived a couple who were among the few who could see spirits. They had seen both hollow and shinigami alike and knew what went on and knew what the disaster really was. However to avoid being shunned by the village and possibly executed for being crazy they kept their silence and went on living as usual. Eventually they had a child, Kimiko. Their daughter was beautiful and the two couldn't be happier with her.
Her early life was filled with laughter and love but around the age of 6 Kimiko began seeing things. She couldn't really understand what she was seeing but eventually she went to her parents and began to ask questions. Her parents knew exactly what was happening and, although they didn't' like it, they told her what was going on as best they could. At the age of six she couldn't fully understand what they were telling her but she was actually smart enough to get the gist of it and knew that what she was seeing were actually ghosts. Spirits of those whom had died in the past. While she didn't think this was a problem her parents made her promise not to tell anyone what she was seeing and she kept that promise. Her parents were a bit concerned about her being spiritually aware but for the most part they left the subject alone and decided to give her a sort of informal schooling in hopes of taking her mind off of what she was seeing.
Life was good, simple and easy, for Kimiko. She didn't have too much to do as she grew up and she never worried too much about finding a man to be married to. By the age of 17 she had already grown into a beautiful woman that most of the men within the village wanted to be with, though she never gave them the time of day. While she kept a girlish look about her while in the village there was a little secret that even her parents didn't know about. At some point in her life Kimiko had become fascinated with stories of ninjas and assassins. So much so that she would occasionally run off to the woods around the village and train herself to become a fighter. Over the years as she built up muscle and trained her body her parents began to notice. They soon questioned her about what she was doing in her free time and she told them that she was just doing some simple exercise and that there was nothing to worry about. She believed they bought it but honestly she knew they were watching here closely... That was until she was 18...
~Life of an assassin~
At the age of 18 Kimiko had gone out on one of her usual woodland escapes. Upon her way home she began to hear screaming and could smell smoke coming from the direction of the village. Her heart racing she began to run back toward the village but stopped when she could see flames in the distance. She could feel the tears running down her face but that sadness was soon blown away by pure anger. While she knew she going into the village was possible suicide she ignored her logic and made her way toward the village as quietly as she could. By the time she reached the edge her tears had dried up and her rage had built to a level she'd never felt before. However instead of her mind being fogged by her anger it was clear and focused. She knew what she had to do and there was no doubt or fear about it.
She slowly moved like a shadow through the trees, slowly getting closer and closer until she saw them. A group of men had come into the village and began setting the homes on fire and attacking the people of the town, some of whom were dead on the ground. There was one lone man, however, close to Kimiko and he appeared to be assaulting a woman from the village. Kimiko would be damned if she let it happen and in what seemed like a split second she moved and to the mans back, snapping his neck in one fluid motion. She watched as his body fell to the ground and she nodded at the woman. In the span of only a few minutes Kimiko continued to move and managed to drop two more men before the group decided to leave and let the village burn on it's own. They had gotten what the wanted and didn't bother caring about the three dead men.
Eventually Kimiko made her way to her house and found her parents dead and their bodies burned. For the next few hours Kimiko found herself sitting in what was her home thinking about what to do next. She thought about everything that had just happened and how easy it seemed to be when she killed those men. As she thought about this a smirk formed across her face and she made her choice. She went through her clothes that remained untouched and changed into an outfit that would allow her to move fairly unhindered. After this she ran back to the men she had killed and took what money they had as well as two small wakizashi and left. From that point forward she began using the name Kurugari and began making a name for herself as an assassin for hire.
~Death Comes For You~
Life was going well for Kimiko... Well as well as life can go for an assassin. She was making money and making a life for herself as she moved around the country. Most of her targets were easy enough to take care of seeing as she was a very beautiful woman and wasn't seen as much of a threat. However this eventually all came to an end around the age of 25. Seven years had come and gone and Kimiko had been doing what she always did once her life changed. She took a job and took out the target with no problems, the usual for her. However her last job was one that went far beyond anything she'd ever encountered before. The man she was sent to kill was being targeted due to his involvement with setting numerous village fires over the course of several years. This information set Kimiko off like a bat out of hell once she took the job. She tracked down and found her target but this time she was letting her emotions get to her. All the pain and sorrow she had been bottling up over the course of the years all came back and in turn it made her sloppy.
She made her move on the target, looking to kill him in one blow, but managed to make to much noise on the initial assault. She was easily countered and thrown to the ground, the man a bit surprised. She rolled to her feet and quickly took a fighting stance before she lunged at him again. Once again the attack was blocked but this time the man countered with a quick slash which caught Kimiko in the stomach. The wound wasn't deep and it didn't slow her down any. The man, noticing that she was hell bent on killing him, stopped playing around and when she attacked again he not only blocked it but placed Kimiko in a choke hold. He sighed lightly as she struggled but he shook his head and snapped her neck, killing her in an instant... Her soul lingered in the living realm for a bit but she was luckily found and sent to Soul Society.
~Wandering through the outskirts~
Soon after her soul was sent to Soul Society Kimiko found herself awakening in a small hut. She didn't know what had happened, where she was or even how she'd gotten there but she felt like there was a slight peace within herself. However that peace slowly faded when memories flooded back into her mind and the rage began to resurface. She sat up quickly and looked around to see who was there. She spotted an elderly woman who seemed to be sitting and waiting for something. The old woman looked at Kimiko and smiled when she saw she had awoke. The two talked and the old woman explained where they were and while at first she didn't believe it Kimiko quickly remembered the last few moments of her life and knew that she had in fact lost and died. She tensed up and felt her anger begin to rise but the old woman quickly calmed her down.
The elderly woman decided she would care for Kimiko as best she could while she was in Rukongai and in turn Kimiko decided she would protect the her. The reason for this was due to the fact that Kimiko had ended up in one of the far districts of Rukongai and in these areas there was very little in the way of civility. While this didn't bother Kimiko much she felt that she owed the old lady at least this much for letting her stay there. This worked out rather well because within a week there were a group of men looking to see the "fresh meat" as they were calling here. It seemed word of her arrival had spread a bit and apparently women were seen as "play things" in this area. When the old woman began to protest she was promptly shoved back into the hut, causing Kimiko to just as promptly toss the man who had walked in right back out. The group was rather confused at first and upon seeing her walk out they began to laugh... Moments later they were unconscious upon the ground and Kimiko was walking back into the hut to rest.
Over the course of the next 75 years these fights became more and more frequent. The more people Kimiko took out the more would come to fight her. However it came to a point where she began going after random men and going for sneak attacks. The once fresh meat was now the hunter of the district and that was not going over well with most of those who lived there. Her attacks against people were eventually found to be retaliation for all of the woman who had been attacked in the district but to those seen as the "elders" they didn't much care. Things worked a certain way in the outer districts and this wasn't it. So eventually, after enough petitions, Seireitei decided to go and investigate the so called attacks. If anything it was a way to appease the loud voices in the district and if anything they would deal with the attacker.
A small five man team was soon dispatched and upon arriving began to investigate the attacks. Kimiko quickly heard about this and began tracking the men. She wanted to see how the shinigami acted and how they went about their business. She had heard stories of them coming and bringing in those whom were capable of becoming Shinigami and after 75 years in what she viewed as a personal hell she wanted to try and find a way out. On top of that she had actually started to feel hunger quite soon after her arrival, a side effect of being spiritually aware in life, and the elderly woman told her that eventually she may end up having what it took. Kimiko managed to stay hidden from the team for a few days, watching and learning how they moved and acted as a team, before she decided to make her move.
Over the course of the 75 years Kimiko had managed to continue training herself but this time it was different. It was almost as if she was getting more than even she knew and it all came out when she attacked the five man cell. They had stopped to go over their information and as they were standing in a circle Kimiko jumped from the roof of a building next to them and landed in the center of the group. They were all in shock at her sudden appearance but once they saw her white hair they knew that she was who they had been looking for. Sadly their delay in attacking gave Kimiko an opening and in a flash one of the five was already on the ground and appeared to be unconscious. She spun around and caught the second in the side of the head with her fist, sending him to the ground dazed. By this time the other three had already moved to apprehend her and even managed to grab her for a moment. However he small size and agility gave her an advantage and she easily slipped out of their grasp.
Several minutes later Kimiko had left all five men on the ground, only one out cold, and stood on the roof of the building she had jumped from originally. She looked down on the five and smirked a bit as she told them to let their leaders know what had happened and told them where she was staying should they want to see her skills first hand. Then she ran off back to her hut.
~The Silent Assassin~
Some time later, 1100 a.d., a lone shinigami representative was sent from Seireitei in order to test Kimiko. She passed the test and was accepted into the Shinigami Academy and a new chapter in her life finally began. She went through the academy like most and managed to gain her sealed zanpakutou by the end of her time there. While she wasn't much in the way of kido, though she managed to pass the classes, but where she excelled was in her hand to hand and sparing classes. Most were shocked at how well she was able to fight considering her small stature but after her first two years in the academy most of her classmates tried to avoid having her as a sparing partner.
While her time at the academy was rather uneventful her time after was not. Upon graduation she applied to and was accepted into the 2nd Division. At first she was happy being an unseated member, learning the ropes and how things worked within the division. However her interest soon also began to move towards the Onmitsukidō. She had heard talk around the Division about the Special Forces group and after some time she decided to make a formal request. Her request was looked over and her skills found to at least be worth the testing and around the time of 1250 a.d. she managed to make it into the Executive Militia as a low ranked member. She was excited at this chance to really make something of herself and over the course of the next 150 years she trained harder then ever before and managed not only to gain her shikai but she has finally reached the rank of 3rd seat in the 2nd Division and has been promoted ot officer within the Executive Militia. She continues to push herself to this day and will continue to do so until she has reached the top, or at least she sees as the top, of her game and until that day she will work as hard as she has to in order to succeed.
