Profile Information
Name: Natsume Kerai
Gender: Male
Age: 120
Faction: Shinigami
Rank: Onmitsukidō - Detention Officer
Reiatsu Color: Golden as the sun
Reiatsu Aura: The feeling as though one were being understood on the most fundamental of levels
Appearance: Known almost universally as 'The blonde', Kerai is a man of middling height and average build, standing perhaps five feet and seven inches tall with a weight of one hundred sixty pounds, having spent most of his life perfecting the art of being the absolute average, his golden locks being the sole exception to this provision. As a member of the Natsume clan, specifically a branch-family of little importance, Kerai is most often seen wearing the most subdued of colors in very calm, rational clothes, straying away from the ostentatious dress of his betters but above the 'lowly' wear of commoners.
Personality: Kerai is a cheerful man in all but the most dire of circumstances, with a tendency to downplay the ill in a situation in order to attempt preventing panic; this sometimes conflicts with his 'comedic' attitude, wherein he will tend to overstate an issue of low or moderate importance to the point where it seems to be an incredibly important subject. Despite this, Kerai rarely means ill by his actions, intending only the best for those around him in order to preserve a state of 'well-liked' by his peers, though he has been known to simply grate against others in 'the wrong way'.
This occasionally extends to situations where Kerai would otherwise be expected to act in a serious or sophisticated manner; the blonde has received dressings-down on more than a few occasions for acting in an uncouth manner whilst handeling prisoners during his Onmitsukidō duties. Unfortunately for Kerai, this personality 'quirk' extends into combat, to the point where he will often attempt to pass off mortal wounds as 'simple scratches', avoiding treatment until he is incapable of fighting the medical squads off.
History: As a lesser noble in a rather large noble clan, Kerai has overall lived a life of practical solitude and little note; having been with the Onmitsukidō for the better part of sixty years now, the blonde has all but given up on the idea of promotion to Gundancho status, already a feat that only occurs for one in every several hundred Onmitsukidō. So instead, Kerai has spent his entire life learning to read and understand his fellow man, to the point where he has more than occasionally lent his considerable talents to his own family members in order to discover how best to get into good graces with one another or, in a few very rare occasions, find the best way to get under their skin in an all too serious way.
Recently, Kerai has met the newly-adopted heir to the Natsume clan Kusu, a fellow Detention Unit Officer in the Onmitsukidō and, in Kerai's eyes, a man with no small amount of potential. Forgoing his usual stance of 'watch and see' with his fellow clanmates, Kerai has stepped forward in order to act as Kusu's right-hand man, a personal servant to cover matters that Kusu could not safely see through on his own... the first of which is the matter of 'speech'.
