Profile Information
Name: Yagurashi Mei
Alias: Miko no Ametarasu
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Faction: Spiritually Aware Human
Rank: Wandering "Miko"
Reiatsu Color: Sunlight Yellow
Reiatsu Aura: Limitless Bravery
Appearance: A short young girl that is still in the height of being a child, having only limited curves and a youthful face. She has short blond hair and indigo eyes like her cousin, though unlike him she does not wear the traditional clothes of a miko. Instead, she wears a form fitting hakama and pants bound at the shins to her legs with wrappings and looks more like a shinobi than a priestess, almost like a fighting monk as it were if you were to look at her in another way.
One of the most notable articles of clothing she has, is the long gray scarf wrapped around her neck to cover her mouth. It was a present from her cousin and she wears it around her neck always, as it helps to keep him close to her.
Personality: Amongst the other children at the monastery, she was the one who held rather great bravery after her cousin showed her the way by defending her from a Hollow. This bravery is accompanied by a rather narrow view-point of the world. She sees it as good vs. evil, and no shades of gray and that there is no complex factors in between either.
Mei is also rather devoted to the path of a warrior priestess, defending the innocent from demons and the like, to the point where she could be seen as a bit over-zealous and eccentric. Not to mention she has a tendency to abandon stealth, though when she is faced with a demon (Hollow) or evil, she displays heroic focus and determination to defeat it.
Alas, she is still naive to the many truths of the world, and is still young.
History: Like her cousin Sei, she too grew up in the same monastery. As a child, she was shy and nervous, attaching herself to her father, aunt, and cousin whenever she could for protection. Having lost her mother during her birth, she has had no comfort of a true mother, instead having to grow up without one. During the event of her cousin's awakening to his powers, she found herself with a role model and a person to aspire to become; her cousin of course. And thus began her transformation and development into what she is today.
Over time while she was watching her brother train, her own power began to awaken. She discovered it one day while training, as she was knocked off her feet by a sudden blast of light erupting from her arm. Her father and aunt immediately sought her out, finding the young girl hanging upside down from a tree. The two realized what had happened, and quickly began training her in secret, knowing that the power she had was far greater than any that had been awakened by the others. Even her own cousin's power seemed to pale in comparison to Mei's burning soul, as they named it. And so, while Sei continued to train and be aided by his little "sister" Mei, their parents worked on training Mei to control her powers before she could ever try to use them herself.
Sadly, Sei's departure caused her development to come to a grinding halt, and before Mei could ever show him the gift she had. Her father tried everything he could to cheer her up, and it wasn't until her birthday a few months later that a breakthrough occurred. A messenger had arrived, one bearing a present that was to be given to Mei. Curious, she opened it under the watchful eyes of the other children and parents, only to find a long gray scarf inside the box, yet it was elegant and rather special. For with it was a simple note from Sei, wishing her a happy birthday and the scarf being her present to her.
While it was nothing, the scarf and note meant a great deal to Mei whose smile seemed to reach deep inside her heart and she quite literally lit up the room with light from her happiness. At once that very night she threw herself into her training, working day and night until her father had to knock her out to get her to rest. She vowed to repay her "brother" by becoming a demon fighter, and by one day finding him and sparring him with her own power to show him how much she had grown. And thus through the span of two years she trained and developed her powers, even gaining control of her secondary powers that awakened and learning all she could about the ways of their family and of her own body. In particular, she learned how to incite an overdrive that she could use as a last resort for one final run in a fight, but only when she had no other choice.
At the end of two years, as she returned with her father to the monastery, her aunt stood at the shrine with a frown on her face. Young Mei knew something was amiss, as they had been expecting Sei to return a month ago. There had been no message from him either of a delay, and that night, Mei decided she would investigate with her aunt and father's blessing. She had to find her cousin and help him if he needed it, and with that in her mind and her present wrapped tightly around her neck and face, she walked down the path through the twisting forest that hid their monastery into the world to find Sei....
Luckily, she had indeed met her cousin once, however, the reunion was cut short as a dual Hollow attack called both of their attentions to different parts of the city. While Sei went off to fight the larger Hollow, Mei had to run off to find the other. It seemed fate wanted to keep the two cousins apart for a little while longer and delay a proper family reunion as Mei could not find Sei afterwards and went off looking for him again.
