Name: Maku Taiki

Faction: Shinigami

Reiatsu Color: Bright Orange
Reiatsu Aura: Nostalgia
This feeling is so familiar. Like when your mom used to make the best holiday snacks, or even the smell of freshly cut grass, whatever your cup of tea. But for some reason, you feel compelled to reflect and yearn for a time that was better. A point in life where everything was perfect or you were surrounded by people you loved, and loved you. It's almost like falling into a lull of retrospective remorse.
Appearance:
Very much like most shinigami, Maku looks younger than he is. While being 244, he appears more like an eighteen year old. His hair is jet black, usually spiked up. When you would look at him, he's a cheery kind of guy, always parading his pearly whites. And upon closer examination, below his smile, you would wonder where he got the scar on his chin that looked like a scratch, but wounded deep. His brown eyes are usually glossy with a happy expression, framed by his brown eyebrows above his eyes.
Now, Maku isn't really physically fit, but rather a slender build. Scrawny, one might say. So much so that he doesn't really fill out his Shihakushō. Without the large garb, you would see a black, almost tribal, dragon tattoo is frozen on his arm, forever to climb up around his arm and onto his right shoulder blade. He stands at five feet and eleven inches, or roughly 180 centimeters.

Personality:
It's usually a surprise not to see Maku smiling, let alone having a negative expression on his face. He's a naturally sweet person and big on smiling. Despite his happy demeanor, Maku isn't really the social type, and a bit reclusive. He can hold his own with a conversation, but doesn't go out of his way to meet someone. When it comes to people, Maku is quite dependable to get anything done, in respect to the rules. He doesn't step out of line or do anything to recklessly. If he is given a task, Maku completes it, with deftly and precisely. This is probably attributed to his quick wit and intelligence.
As a fighter however, Maku isn't big on conflict. Unusual when sometimes he is sent out to do protect the world of the living, and doesn't want to fight. But don't get this confused. He isn't a coward, nor will he run away when conflicted, but he isn't the type to go find a battle. Or if he can, delegate it to someone else. But Maku can be easily pressured to do something. He's not exactly the toughest, or showcases it. Because of this, he has more of a victim's personality rather than a bully or otherwise. With enough verbal or physical force, Maku can be pressured to just about anything. Even break the rules if he isn't given a way out.
History:
Maku life had been very simple and stable. Born in the Rukongai, District 4, he life was peaceful and without negativity. His parents were loving and nurturing, while protective of him being hurt by anything that was willing to harm him. Which wasn't much. Considering his sheltered life, he was rarely left alone. There was a time when his parents had left him to do some shopping when he was seventeen. That day, a few ruffians had stolen his money, causing him to chase after them. In the spirit of justice, he confronted them. He had been beaten down and almost killed, but an inner energy awoke in him and caused his reiatsu to release. His power had effectively scared them off and he got to live. His parents and that encounter instilled him with a sense of justice and inspired him to fight with his new found power. So when he was of age, he joined the Shinigami Academy. His years in the academy were tough, as it was for just about everyone, but he passed with flying colors... with the exception of learning Hakuda. Hand to hand, and fighting close quarters was never a expertise of his, let alone fighting in general. But he still passed the academy.
Maku's passion for the the court guard squads made him focus most of his time in working tasks and learning his Shikai. After years of concentration and making proper connections, Maku found himself fifth seat of the Sixth Division, and making him an asset to his division.
