[About]
If you ever have a question about something on AK such as the system, the RP, or our rules, this is the place to ask! Before asking a question though, take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.) section below. When asking questions, please make sure you clarify your meaning so that the best possible answer can be given. Also, please keep questions here civil.[F.A.Q.]
Q. How does Hollow Evolution work?
A. In Character, the Hollow sheds its shell and leaves the pupae state, becoming a glorious butterf- er, Arrancar! In the Metagame, this occurs when sixteen stat/skill/ability 'bubbles' have been filled! When you have reached this milestone, simply PM Sumie and your character's profile will be updated accordingly!
Q. How easily/often may I expect to gain RP?
A. Generally speaking, you can expect to earn one RP for every post you make, with the accepted 'standard' being ten posts per thread; of course, individual cases may be different, so just be prolific and you will be rewarded! And even more rewards come to those who are both prolific and good at what they do!
Q. How many threads may I be in at a time?
A. A character may be in two threads at a time, with one stipulation: one of the threads must be set in the past, and have absolutely zero bearing on the 'current' thread! Therefore, character changes or opinions made in the Past Thread will not occur in the Current Thread, nor will any stat/skill/ability additions!
Q. What is the limit on how many characters I can have?
A. The current hard-limit on characters per player is one, and only one! In the future, this may change; when it does, announcements will be made, and the angels will sing this news from on high!
Q. Should I make a new account for every character?
A. No! Under the current system, all characters will be handled from a single prime account; that said, when the time comes that you may or may not acquire a second character, your account information may bear changing! This, of course, is all a bunch of things to talk about in the mid to far future; not now!
Q. I see I need to purchase Stat or Skill levels incrementally; is the same true for sequential abilities?
A. Yes! Abilities that naturally require other Abilities, such as Multi-Cero requiring Cero, require Cero, considered the 'qualifying ability', in order to be obtained! As well, one would need Reiatsu Sensing 1 before they could get 2, and so on!
Q. What types of items qualify for the Rukon Citizen's 'Soul Bound Item'?
A. Any type of item qualifies! The only requirement, is that it be explained in the profile what makes that single item so darn special to the character!
Q. What types of weapons are considered 'okay' for sealed zanpakutō?
A. Generally speaking, it is considered 'common' to 'extremely common' for Shinigami zanpakutō to be sealed in a katana of some sort, be it the standard sort to a wakizashi, a tanto, a nodachi or anything similar. Arrancar, however, are pretty much considered able to take nearly any weapon as a sealed state, though bladed weapons are most common!
Q. What is the maximum age my character may be?
A. Hollow can be no older than 7000 discounting pre-Hollow existence, with Shinigami and Rukon Citizens being no older than 3000; however, Hollow will not recall anything about their lives pre-Hollow!
Q. How can I purchase items?
A. By going to the Moderator Request Thread! From there, you request what items you desire specifically, and they will be added to your account with the proper amount of money deducted!
Q. Can I register my own special items?
A. Only on your birthday, or if you recieve the option as a contest prize! Common and often item registrations have been taken from the system, unfortunately, because the system itself was by and large unused, and when it was, it was in a manner that froze the system itself!
Q. What happened to the Research and Development character categories?
A. As with the custom items, the R&D Characters were either so unused as to be rendered pointless, or were tasked with items that they couldn't make until they reached a new level... which they couldn't reach because they didn't have people able to promote them, or worse, could not be promoted!
Q. How long does it take for me to be considered 'inactive'?
A. About two weeks of being unresponsive, which in turn is defined as 'not posting'! If this happens, expect to be exited from your threads and sent to Limbo, and if we suspect you're using this method to get out of sticky situations in threads... danger!
Q. My character is in a situation they can't survive, and I don't want to see them die! What do I do?
A. That is a tough cookie to swallow; while nobody likes seeing their characters dying, in any RP involving combat, you simply have to expect it to happen sooner or later! So while you can't really stop it from happening, on the bright side, you do get the opportunity to try out a whole new character, one that can benefit from your experience to this point!
Q. What is the different between Shunpo, Sonido, and Hirenkyaku?
A. Shunpo is considered to be one long step signified by the rustling of butterfly wings, or a swish; while this makes the user harder to attack or stop during its use, it's also impossible for the user to change direction and almost stop themselves from completing the full movement as they must decide pre-use exactly where they are going. Sonido on the other hand is a series of steps signified by a static noise; this makes it easier to change direction when in use and to stop, however, it is also easier to attack the user during Sonido and it is the most physically draining of the rapid movement techniques. Finally, Hirenkyaku is done by flowing across a platform of reiatsu signified by the sound of grating metal; while the nature of this movement is very fluid and doesn't require the user to move in a straight line, it is the most draining reiatsu wise of the three rapid movement techniques.
Q. What stats, skills, and abilities can I start with?
A. Information on the tier system can be found here, while profile registration rules and guidelines can be found here, but in short, Everyone starts out at poor in all stats and skills with no abilities. However, high rankers (taichou and arrancar) have five points to spend during registration to unlock a total of five stats, skills, and abilities. Everyone else, starts with three.
Q. What is the difference between the zanpakuto release of Shinigami compared to Arrancar?
A. With Shinigami, the weapon itself changes form and the powers are provided via the released weapon; their release never effects their bodily appearance though articles of clothing may form. For Arrancar, the change is physical and the powers are manifested through their own body, though in some cases their releases include a weapon of some sort.
