Standing at five-foot-eleven, Kiba is a generally unassuming figure in comparison to most Inner or Outer Defense members. His black hair is kept short and defies all grooming measures, permanently maintaining an unkempt appearance, giving his bright green eyes a wild look, and his shihakushou and haori are worn sleeveless. His form is comprised of defined, but not bulky, musculature, giving him the appearance of a man who most certainly works out. He wears his Zanpakuto on his left hip, as do most Shinigami.
[smear:235961]Personality[/smear:C5F3FA]: Though Kiba is most widely regarded for his overbearing competitive nature, he is in honesty a more-or-less relaxed personality. When not on duty - a not too uncommon occurance, as he often shoves his workload off on Third Division Fukutaicho Sumie, or any other hapless bystander - Kiba can more often than not be found in a small workshop he maintains just inside Seireitei's walls on the northern side, wherein he practices his sculpting, be it with wood, stone or any other medium he gets his hands on - one of Kiba's side-duties for the Inner Defense Division is to keep the training area supplied with training dummies, which he carves himself.
In his downtime otherwise, Kiba may either be found fishing at any given creek or writing - supposing one may locate Kiba during this most secretive of hobbies. In truth, Kiba is a self-published author in Seireitei, though only the Library is willing to stock his works, and even then not by choice - he must sneak them in and onto the shelves. The simple fact is that Kiba is not a very good author, tending to pen absolutely horrid romance novels under a pseudonym. Currently the only person aware of his 'alternate identity' is Natsukoi Sumie, whom Kiba treats as though a younger sister - though he is very defensive of her, he also feels he is the only person allowed to annoy or harrass her, which he does at nearly every opportunity.
Despite his hobby of fishing, Kiba is not a good cook, and under no circumstances should any dish prepared by him be consumed - the lone exception being rice, which he is actually fairly good at making. To his likes and dislikes, Kiba absolutely loathes sushi dishes and is a massive proponent of milk, expounding whenever reasonably allowed on the virtues of it's body-strengthening, mind-soothing properties.
Kiba is rarely, if ever, awake between the hours of two and eleven AM, feeling that these are dead hours where only those with the most absolutely terrible attitudes move about. As a consequence, he is most well described as a night owl, and most commonly takes the night watch in Seireitei. When on duty, Kiba is absolutely intolerant of any type of fighting in the streets, seeing these scuffles as strikes against both productivity and morale, and puts an end to them as quickly as possible. There are those who call this a hypocritical nature, as when off duty, Kiba's blunt, sarcastic attitude often lends to his ability to get into a scuffle over anything that he takes to be a challenge of his abilities - any abilities. From fighting to fishing to reading, Kiba is willing at the drop of a hat to display his dominance and superior ability at anything, even when his supposed ability is not in question. Because of the 'stigma' attached to the combat divisions as is, Kiba purposefully carries himself in a 'less intelligent' manner in order to keep others from catching on to his actually moderate intelligence; this underestimation is key to his ability to quickly defeat others either in the field of battle or intellect.
Finally, Kiba is extremely arachnophobic; the sight of a spider causes him to go off on a hollering tirade while slamming feet and fists into the general area of where the spider was last seen in an attempt to rid the world of the little demon. As well, any body of water who's depth exceeds fifteen feet inspires panic in the former fukutaicho, and as a result his swimming abilities are mediocre at best, relying on the ever-trusty dog-paddle rather than any type of stroke.

Born the sixth son of 13, Kiba learned early in life that in order to get or keep anything to himself, he would have to fight for it. He first met Sumie at the age of six, and they rapidly became good friends. As five of his brothers had before him, Kiba joined the Shinigami at the age of one hundred sixty; the primary portion of Kiba's early career missions had him working alongside Sumie, allowing them to learn to synergize their abilities to become an impressive dual force. Using his impressive work history alongside his own combat prowess, Kiba was promoted to Fukutaicho the same year as Sumie; he claims to have done so weeks before she did, though they were promoted in the same ceremony. Unfortunately, the Fukutaicho rank was one of little valor and 'productivity', as Kiba claimed, and within two months he stepped down from the rank and into the Tenth Seat position, where he could more easily resume his multiple duties. As the Tenth Seat, Kiba took an active role in training inductees to the Fourth Division, introducing them to the concepts of their job when not producing replacement training dummies for the Division's combat practices.
For just under 800 years Kiba held his 10th Seat rank, though he maintained the habit of acting as a part-time Fukutaicho simply because seniority allowed him to; in the year 1800, his Taicho noticed Kiba had become a fairly well rounded individual, and foolishly made the joke that Kiba could likely challenge him for his Taicho rank - and so Kiba did. Fortunately, he has not let the fact of his inflated rank get to his head; indeed, it seems to have hardly at all impacted his relationship with Sumie, who still treats him like a pesky younger brother.

[smear:235961]Spirit[/smear:C5F3FA]: Hiranomi manifests as a shiftless bundle of four-inch-thick tentacles, a quivering mass that sits three feet from ground to crescent, though this is with all his tentacles bundled, rather than straightened. What shape resides within the mass, if there is one at all, is unknown even to Kiba; Hiranomi is hardly capable of speech, only able to groan out a single word stretched into three or four syllables at a time.
[smear:C5F3FA]Inner World[/smear:235961]: Kiba's inner world is that of a meadow, cluttered with wooden statues of people, though their distinct features are never clear enough to Kiba's eyes for him to recognize. Though the statues are usually even spaced and standing straight up, in times of duress or stress they may topple or begin to crumble, turning the meadow into an obstacle course of clutter and falling statues.

[smear:235961]Shikai[/smear:C5F3FA]: 'Sawagu, Hiranomi!' | In its Shikai state, Hiranomi both splits and shortens, becoming two chisel-like knives bound to the backs of Kiba's wrists with metal-and-leather bindings. The blades are rectangular and extend seven inches forward beyond Kiba's knuckles, sharp on all three exposed sides.
[smear:C5F3FA]Attack[/smear:235961]: Shunkaumu | A two part ability, Shunkaumu requires a rather simple set-up: upon contact with his left blade, Kiba can place one Reiatsu Marker, and with his right blade, another. With this set, a person who comes into contact with the left-hand marker will translate through space to within four feet of the right hand Marker. Only one of each marker may exist at a time, and both dissipate upon use. Each marker may only last up to four posts after they have both been placed, each marker may only be placed after one post has past from its use, and the markers must be within twenty yards of one another in order to be active; if not, the first set marker will dissipate, needing to be reset within the distance limit.
The four foot clearance is for the sake of movement through space in a manner inconsistent with logical process; usually a person will move through space so that the part of their person that made contact with the first seal will still be making contact with the second, but if such a movement would place the traveller's person through another object, they will also be rotated in space in order to 'fit' them against the marked surface but without their body 'intruding' in another substance.
As with the Fourth Division Skill, the markers resonate with Kiba's own reiatsu, allowing him to track their locations without making them apparent to others.
