it had been four years since yasuo had arrived in seireitei. he had not stepped outside of the establishment once, and his conviction in that the shinigami were the answer to his problems was enough to keep him away from his home and the rukongai in general. the ire and dissent between his father and he was so strong as to bridge a gap between the two and force his hand; there were a lot of things that he missed, and his expectations of seireitei, though negligible in the pursuit of his goals, were somewhat of a disappointment in the pursuit of his happiness. seireitei wasn't like the rukongai, or that's how it felt for him. this contrast struck a cord with yasuo and, because of it, there was an almost eternal discontentment; he felt as if had to go back home (not necessarily his family's home, but to the districts of rukongai). maybe then could he find some solace, or even put together what he had learned thus far so that he could reassess his goals.
upon leaving seireitei the young man would stroll at his leisure, slowly soaking in the environ that he had grown accustomed to. he had grown up in the second district, and although that was his destination, he would be going to a remote part of the forest there that he knew of. it was a quiet place, one that he had been to many times; one would even call it a place of meditation -- it was for him. the trip would take some time, but he did not mind. it just gave him more time to think.
