[About]
These threads are dedicated to giving general descriptions of established and repeatedly used areas in RP to prevent confusion and disputes in threads. Information of importance includes the size of the structure (note whether it is one story/two and the like as well), main entrances that are used and would be accessible/visible to an onlooker, the general layout, perhaps materials used, that kind of thing. If your location is not listed here and you wish for it to be, please PM me. I will actively collect information from those I know to have such areas in use.[Area List]
Lying on the east side of the Seireitei, and comprising a majority of the land, the Fifth Division stretches for a good while. Located in the northern hemisphere of the fifth division lies an expansive, large area dedicated to outdoor training, sparring grounds, an indoor dojo, with a 'field house'/shed nearby that contains dummies, etc., proper tools to help educate and train shinigami in the ways of combat. Rocks and boulders cover the landscape, with little to no trees. There are some rivers and streams, but nothing too large; however, it is mainly plains, for 'fair' fighting/sparring. Though, the rocky area helps provide strength and endurance training.
The center is home to the barracks and main office, which has a path in each direction that eventually leads to the foci of each direction. The outside of the building is nicely structured and decorated with flowers, and tranquil zen pieces, but not enough to be considered a 'garden'. It's a rather large building, considering the Fifth division houses the many shinigami serving as the front lines. So, there's the first floor, which contains the lobby, secretary's desk, and generally the maintenance/building offices of the lower shinigami; whose tasks are to report minor structural damages in specific places, file paperwork, etc. There is also a food court/dining area on the first floor, with some bathrooms spread out. The second floor is a study room of sorts; offering books and guides to training, and a quieter area to learn the principles of 'control'. Also, the LT and Captain's offices are located here, much larger than the overall offices located on the first floor. If anything, the second floor gives off the vibe of a 'classroom'. The third floor houses the shinigami/staff in barracks, with the LT's room being larger than the others. Provided are bathrooms, beds, etc., the essentials for living there. Along a hallway, is the fourth floor, which is home to Ume's quarters; much bigger in size, with a master bedroom, full bathroom, a personal study/office room, and a balcony to overlook the fifth division. However, along those stairs is another staircase, that brings you up to the 'fifth floor', which is actually the rooftop, where Taisho is likely found tanning, and generally a place to help maintain lookout over majority of the divisions' grounds. There's also a basement, where extra maintenance/utility equipment can be found - although it's very dark and spooky!
The east contains a pathway, which eventually leads to the Rukongai gate, allowing shinigami to move into the Rukongai to supervise and resume watch. Trees are predominately found here, and seemingly run parallel with the road. It's more of a forest-type scenery, but the trees are scattered enough so that a thick canopy doesn't shield one traveling on foot from the sky. Along the east, lies another building, medium in size. This structure houses building supplies/maintenance equipment for repairs that are to be made to the rukongai and gate of the eastern/northern section. There's also a small training area for on the opposite side of the path where the building is stationed.
The west is a more barren place in comparison to the eastern path with it's nature, but has man-made structures. To the left of the path, as if walking toward the seireitei from the center of the fifth division, lies a butterfly garden, housing the hell butterflies and natural butterflies alike, along with preserving many natural insects/animals. Some fresh crops also remain there, providing the cooks natural/organic foods to be made for the division. Directly across from the butterfly garden is a zen garden; sand raked in circular motions, a natural stream flowing through with a wooden-mahogany bridge, with planted zen trees, rocks and a pond, man-made waterfall, etc. Pretty place. Near the large gate, lies a message center for the hell butterflies, and across from that is another building dedicated for maintenance supplies for the seireitei.
The south houses a large arena, solely for the purpose of 'professional zoning', promotional fights, and challenges. Like the north, it's more barren, with the edges having trees, and natural resources. In fact, it's like an outdoor dojo, with seats/areas for observation. Mainly, it's a place for a fair fight and fair game. Closer toward the enter of the division, but still primarily south, is a practice area for learning how to build/hold structures until repairs can be made. So there are test sites to help with training.
[north: training, center: main office building, east: gate that leads into the Rukongai/building supplies, west: gate that leads to the roads of the seireitei, with another building for supplies for the seireitei, zen/butterfly garden/area, south: arena for competition/promotional tests, repair practice/maintenance control training]
