Hotaru laughed upon seeing Zane sweep his form into such a grand gesture, not in a derisive manner but rather oriented from the point of embarrassment. She wasn't one to laud praise upon people for doing their job and as such was uncomfortable with it in return. She waved her hand slightly in the air between them and replied, "There is no need for thanks, sir, for as I recall it was you who saved me from being sandwiched between two of those infected ones." Zane had taken on the more revolting of the two creatures that were converging upon them leaving her free to focus upon the biter. She assumed he had heard her speak to Malik about the orders to remain for questioning and so did not repeat that bit of information. She turned and swept her left hand up over her head to push her bangs away from her face in a bit of exasperation as she gazed once again upon the Soutaicho. Normally she tread lightly about those who were in greater authority than herself, but in this venue she realized she would have to take a stance or see him come to harm through his own foolishness. Still, tact could not hurt and so she softly cleared her throat and lowered her hand to her side before addressing her reluctant patient. "Soutaicho? I feel it would behoove us both to tend to your wounds now. Your room is just a short distance down the hallway." She gestured up the corridor hoping this small request would be hint enough for the man to give some thought to his treatment. Meanwhile, patients were getting a bit crowded in the waiting area. Perhaps one should say the detainees for most, if not all, had been tended to in the field by the medical teams or here at the infirmary and were now awaiting the debriefing. Her eyes scanned the situation fleetingly, her gaze passing over Malik's shoulder to the waiting area, and wondered when the third division would arrive to conduct their investigation. Time would just have to take care of that matter. She turned her eyes toward the man's daughter hoping to enlist her influence upon her father in order to at least get him out of the hall. Addressing her she asked, "Perhaps you would wish to accompany us and continue your discussion over this fine pup in the examining room?"Typos

Zane wasn't too thrilled about the fact that he had to stay around to be 'interrogated' about the incident. What a pain in the ass this would be! He made his way back down the hallway, that was given that no one had actually spoken to him about a check-up, and headed back to the waiting room to, well, wait. Zane leaned against the wall closest to the door that lead to the medical rooms where he had just come from.

Chie smiled slightly as her father voiced his concern for the damned fox. "Oh, he ran away from his home, I am to return him." She kept her reply simple, as it could be vaguely interpreted as the truth.
Frankly, she wasn't about to fall for the 'pouty-child-doesn't-want-to-lose-his-toy' routine. It annoyed her greatly, but she did not convey these thoughts or feelings. She chose to ignore it, keeping her tone polite and distant like before.
"However, sir," she paused, having been addressed by Hotaru in regards to the Soutaicho's wounds. "I must agree with this lady. Your wounds should be attended to, as it is troubling for your health to delay treatment." Not to mention a hassle for the staff that he was wasting their time by delaying their work. After all, she imagined they had other things they could be tending to rather than standing about while the Tanakas discussed the welfare of a fox.
"I do apologize for my disruption, miss," Chie bowed courteously to Hotaru. "I do not wish to cause further delay," which was true. "Shall we, sir?" She returned her gaze to her father, gesturing with her thin arm toward the room Hotaru previously mentioned.
By now, Malik would have surely noticed the formality in which Chie was addressing him. She was always formal and polite, yes, but there was a distance to it. Having raised the girl, he would know her behavior better than everyone. She was always polite and kind, but there was a warmth to it. Not once had she called him father since they just met, but perhaps he chalked that up to their being in public.
However, since her mother's passing, Chie gradually became more, and more like a stranger, rather than a family member (at least in her eyes), particularly after her medical leave of a decade.
Meanwhile, Von continued to behave admirably, lazing comfortably in the Soutaicho's care.

Startled somewhat by the Taichou's sudden aggression toward the headboard, Mai jerked back quickly; she was unused to such patients, other than the odd belligerent child, and such events often gave her heart a fright. She did not utter a sound, however, to her inner pleasure; instead, she stepped back up to the table and resumed her work on the Taichou's leg.
Much like Harupia had done, Mai's hands too became enveloped with the bright glow of the Chiyudou as she ran her hands over the wounds on Kiba's leg. Unlike Harupia, she was not as practiced in the art, but she did not let this dissuade her: as she was when doing a similar procedure with her father, the girl was determined to see it through until the end. She worked in silence, interpreting Kiba's minor aggression toward the bed as a sign that he wasn't wanting to be here any longer, and so she would hurry to get him back on his feet and back to doing what he wanted to do.
Of course, that all pended on Harupia's examination after the Chiyudou was completed, and whether or not the medical taichou felt that Kiba's legs were up to the challenge of supporting his weight.

Kiba gave a start as the doctorly duo's hands, enshrouded in the glow of healing energies, began to mend at his legs, the taicho fighting not to squirm as the separations were mended. As the hands of healing undid what a sister had wrought, Kiba squirmed - the chiyudo was always the final step, the bandage on the wound, and that meant he was only seconds nearer to escaping his white-walled prison.
When the doctors pulled away, Kiba hardly missed a beat, raising his right leg just enough to put his shin on display before nodding resolutely. "Amazing job as always, both of you. Good to know we're in the most capable hands."
And this was followed by the Taicho rapidly swinging his legs off the side of the bed, attempting to rise to his feet, and pinwheeling to keep his balance as his numb limbs attempted to hold him steady. The dance was precarious for a moment, but Kiba overcame the odds and before long was clutching his cut hakama to his waist and striding toward the nearest door. "I'll be sure to word this all very favorably in my report!" Kiba called as he staggered and swayed out the door and toward his freedom, not intending what so ever to be stopped by any poor soul foolhardy enough to get in his way.
He had places to be... and wood to carve.

The Taicho's fidgeting were a bit distracting, but he was used to patients being all twitchy... surprisingly it wasn't only the children who wanted to run of and enjoy their fun and games, hehe. Still, once both of them were done, Harupia finishing a bit earlier then Mai, but not interfering with her work seeing how well she was doing, only steeping in for a short second after she pill away to examine and make sure everything is fine, which it was., to the delight of both captains, though Kiba was more animate about his excitement. It was nice to see him relived and happy with their work. It was always the best thing in his work, when the healing was one, and he could simply enjoy the fact he did a good job. Though the praise was also welcomed.
Though before he could really reply to what the Taicho said, he blinked and stepped back, seeing him bounce of the bed as soon as both of his legs were after the procedure, and without any real consulting decided to move on his merry way, though he did thank them once again. Following Kiba out the doors, and seeing him bound as fast as he could towards the door, he would turn towards Mai and say "Ehh...Id like him to stay here for a bit longer to regain his strength...but if his legs didn't give out by now, he should be fine. And if they do, Ill be sure to scold him for running out on his doctor" he concluded the sentence with a small chuckle.
Smiling brightly towards the younger Tanaka he would say "Great job as usual Mai...you've really tried hard the past few weeks, especially given he circumstances. You can be sure Ive noticed all your hard work. But there is still a lot to be done. Help me clean the room a bit, and then Id like you to go on a round over the ground level. See how many patients are there, how serious their conditions are, all the important information. Ill meet you in the main hall in half an hour for some debriefing, alright?" he finished with a slight nod, after which he would move on to helping Mai clean the room up from the tools and bits of clothing, before they would move on their respective tasks.
In the meantime, Minato was standing there, aiming sure no one was picking through the sheath around the bed blocking the girl from view...and the girl suddenly shouting at him. Turning back he said "Calm down! I'm just standing here to make sure no one looks over this. I'm not looking at you, geez!" he retorted, standing with his back turned to her in the first place.
And so, the now solitary Harupia walk through the first floor, seeing how everything was operating, giving some additional orders and advice if needed. And thus he came by this strange situation. Rising a brow, he approached the bed where Minato was standing and asked "Now, now...any reason were all shouting around here?" he asked the younger medic, looking around the gathered patients who were also a bit agitated by the shouts. Minato, a bit startled by the coming of the Taicho said "N-not really Hitoshi-san.Simply a misunderstanding."

There was an audible childish huff from behind the screen then the creak of the bed which had been provided for the young patient as she sat down after finishing changing. She'd wait for her food before curling up for a cat nap; she was stuck there for a few days anyways, might as well sleep.

[bgcolor=000000]"Oh alright." He finally whined, being pestered and pestered over something as trivial as a few scratches! My goodness women were a pain the the rump and he should know, he had Mai as a daughter after all. Grumbling and complaining Malik began to follow the doc's lead.
Although something was bothering him.."Chie, stop calling me Soutaicho-Sama. I'm not in charge here, so no need to speak so formally, I'm your father not your Chieftain." Frowny face, pet pet stroke stroke of Captain Fuzzypads. Whom would be staying with Malik for now, simply because... He forgot already that he was to give'im up.Sry for the crappy post, but up it be!

Hotaru refrained from rolling her eyes. She wasn't the sort of person who got pissy with her patients, especially when they outranked her. Still, she was forming a stereo type concerning the man and it was a bothersome one. He was one of those typical warrior type personalities who denied there was anything wrong with them to the point of passing out from blood loss. Such phrases entered her mind that such a man might utter as she fell into a sort of day dream to entertain herself while she led the Soutaichou and his entourage of Daughter and new pet down the hall to his examining room.
Yes, there he would be on the field of battle, out front of course, brandishing his Zanpakutō the fabled 'what's it's name' of legend, and shouting commands left and right ignoring each and every wound he had sustained. His voice would be heard ringing out over the din of the melee stunning both friend and foe, "Bring up more reinforcements! Try to keep up while I carve a path through the horde. For Seireitei and Glory!!" About that time in the day dream his man, Zane, would rush forward to try and talk some sense into him. "But Cap'in. We're givin' it all we've got! I dinna how mooch longer we kin hold out!" Still, the warriors of the Gotei 5 would somehow manage to cripple forward behind their warrior king for shame of being left behind and branded cowards in the eyes of the man they all idolized. A strange look would cross her face as in her daydream, Zane had the oddest accent.
Her private interlope into the fantastical life of denial her patient led didn't halt there but continued with additional actors in the dream; namely the man's two daughters. There would be much wailing and pulling of hair and garments by the two women as they plead with their delusional father. Mai of course would be making a plea based upon his injuries pointing out the loss of his dominant arm, this having been hacked off above the elbow, while Chie would be apologizing for interrupting his battle cry with her objections for his continued participation in the battle due to all the blood he had lost. The Soutaichou would strike a pose, much like the hero in a Kabuki Theatre whilst making his soliloquy.
"What matter the loss of limb and blood, fair maidens, in the face of these villains who dare to threaten our very way of life? Would you see me carted off to the sick room while even one of our brave comrades in arms gives of his life to ensure my safety? What honor is there in growing old and feeble when there is glory to be had upon this field today? What profit is in survival if even one hair upon the head of our people is threatened? Besides, I am ambidextrous!" The fabled warrior would then rush off into the horde and all that could be seen from the vantage points of those three who would see him to safety was a gruesome carnage of body parts being hacked off left and right; some chunks flew into the air with a trail of blood spray following behind in an arc as the warrior went into a frenzied whirlwind attack.
She stood at the door to the examining room with a bit of a grin upon her lips gesturing for her patient to enter as her daydream wrapped up with a final scene. This time she placed herself into the plot standing over the man as he spit challenges to his retreating foe. His wounds, of course would be gruesome to the point of the ridiculous having somehow lost all four of his limbs at this point. "Oh, oh, I see! Running away, eh? You yellow bastards! Come back here and take what's coming to you! I'll bite your legs off! " Muttering something about a flesh wound, she would place one of those self-adhesive bandages she was experimenting with over the end of his severed limbs and smile- yes, all better now.
She blinked slightly and focused upon the here and now, "Right in here, sir. Then we can see to those scratches and send you on your way again." Ah but yes, such was the private world of the Fukutaicho of the Second Division, and she shared none of this drivel with those around her.

Zane raised his hands to his temples, his index and middles fingers rubbing in a circular motion. Damnit, all these annoying and grumbling people were giving him a headache. Why did people have to be so bitchy just because they were to be questioned? If only these damned Rukons could understand the difficulty of locating them later. And that's when it occured to him. Why did he have to stay here? Couldn't they simply locate him in his barracks? Surely! With that in mind, Zane made his way through the crowd of people and out the doors of the medical facility, making his way back to the First Division's barracks. If they wanted him, he'd be there waiting.

Taking a moment to look at Hotaru, Chie followed her father into the room, also refraining from rolling her own eyes as she took in the situation. She was now stuck in an examining room with the man, where idle chit-chat had already taken an uncomfortable turn, and knowing her father, it would continue to do so.
"Sir, I cannot address you so informally in public. You are the Soutaicho, the leader of us all, and addressing you otherwise would be improper," came her blunt, matter-of-fact reply. This would be 'irritable' Chie, to Malik anyway, as he had raised the child himself, he would probably recognize the polite, but to-the-point manner in her speech that gave away said emotion. "Come here, fox, your keeper needs to be examined," she continued, moving her gaze onto Von. The animal as well would recognize the tone, as well as the impassive 'I'm trying not to get angry with you, get over here' face she was making. The animal looked at her, then Malik, before wriggling in his foxy fashion in an attempt to free himself from Malik's care. Should he succeed, Von would land gracefully on the floor and pad his way over to Chie.
Regardless of whether Von joined her, or not, she returned her attention to Hotaru, an apologetic warmth taking over the tone of her words. "I do apologize miss, I imagine an animal cannot be a hygienic occupant in a place of healing. I shall depart with the creature momentarily." Malik would most certainly not be keeping Von, that much she had to ensure.

Somewhat dumbfounded by Kiba's exit, Mai could only nod to Harupia as he spoke. A heartbeat later, as her taichou's words finally registered, she came back from her stupor and busied herself up with what remained; dirty bits of shihakushou were tucked securely under one arm while the other managed to scoop up the used instruments. The bits of shihakushou would be discarded as they were potentially a biohazard to other individuals, and the tools would be disinfected before being used in the next room. Fortunately for patients and doctors alike, there were enough tools and personnel about to expedite a quick return so that no room was unable to be used for a length of time. As Mai followed Harupia out, another unseated member rushed in and restocked the instruments that had been used by the team before the taichou and his protege had mended the wounded Kiba. This procession would continue infinitely, or until the chaos was back to a more manageable level.
After depositing the used items and refuse, Mai returned to the front lobby to manage the chaos level as Harupia had bid her. It wasn't so bad, she surmised, as hers was a division built on efficiency and had more protocols for this sort of function because they were always working on a sliding scale: if there were x many people waiting, then they needed y teams and z extras. Formerly, she had been a z, but now that she had been somewhat promoted (maybe?), she was up to one of those y-levels, and she had a greater appreciation for all those scurrying about in the wings, as it were; were it not for them, this unit would not run quite so smoothly. She stood off to the side, outside the hallway that Hotaru had recently led her grouping down, scanning the lobby for both those z-classes and to gather information for her debriefing within the next half hour.
Triage had occurred from the moment they had gotten the call earlier that morning, and the after-effects were still being felt; those with the most serious injuries had priority, while those with the least severe had to wait. No one wanted to, however, and occasionally cries of frustration would rise from a rather harried grouping of individuals. The medics were trying their hardest to get everyone seen in due time, however, and she could not fault them for that. Though it was severely frustrating to see them having to wait.

It seemed that the whole shouting was indeed not much of a big deal, as the Rukon girl dressed herself just fine. Smiling wide and giving Minato a small pat on the back, as well as for the other medic which had come back with the food, he would leave them for now, seeing how there was much work to be done still. The girl looked fine, just exhausted.
As he headed on further, he found that while the commotion was much higher then usual,it was all on manageable levels. He was a bit worried at first since lately they didn't really have much of a crisis situation like this, and seeing how he wasn't back here to begin with things could have been a bit disorganized. but he always made sure everyone was on their toes, seeing to their training, organizing drills if needed, making sure everything ran smooth. He believed in his man, but there was always this small hint of doubt. Luckily it was unwarranted this time around.
Of course even with everything going well it was a time consuming progress, so obviously there was a bit of stress involved, as apparent with the small girl from before. As much as he could, he tried to remedy that on his run through the hall's, talking with both patients and medics alike, offering directions or just a kind word and a smile. Sure, it didn't work out that well always, but he believed that deep down, even the most infuriated or stressed individual was glad of some reassurance. He also made some use of his healing skills, applying the basic Chiduyo treatment where it he saw it was either needed to sooth the pain, or the wound was small enough for him to handle it quickly.
While it took a while, just as he said, he would come from one of the hallways, and headed towards Mai seeing her from a distance. He looked a slightly more fatigued since they met last time, but it was more because of trying to control everything that was going on then physical exhaustion. As he moved towards her, he caught a quick glimpse of Hotaru leading in two white haired individuals into a room. Chuckling a bit he would approach Mai saying "And here I was telling you father I didn't want to see him again anytime soon as a patient...well, I guess our line of work makes that a bit hard to control. I'm sure Hotaru will take good care of him, though if your worried about him Ill understand if you'll want to go and see him.
But first, how is the situation looking in general? As far as Ive seen its hectic but stable...it'll be a long day, but there shouldn't be much difficulties from here on out" he concluded, flashing her a wide grin. After he would hear her report he would probably move on to try and help more. Hotaru was capable of handling the Soutaicho herself, he was sure of that. And he didn't see the fox, so what the eyes don't see doesn't make the heart weep...or something like that

[bgcolor=000000] My bad! I forgot Blue was exited! Allowing the fidgeting creature to hop out of his hold Malik sighed, and with due haste (from a practiced hand!) was suddenly not wearing either his haori, kosode and shitagi. "Let's get this over with then~" He stated, taking a seat upon a stool, he didn't need a bed, nor would he be lying on his chest while the healing process. No, he would sit and keep up a strong front. Sure, he was hurting. But he couldn't, nay wouldn't let anyone around him to see it. Chie made a point, he was the leader of them all. And such a display of weakness would not be tolerated."Very well, Tanaka-san. Inform your Captain I'll be calling a council meeting to address the happenings of this plight as soon as her investigation has uncovered something. Please, have her keep me in the loop. In the mean time, you're dismissed." Chie wasn't the only one whom could be proper and professional!"Hasegawa-Fukutaicho, please begin."

Nodding briefly, Mai gestured with a soft wave of the hand to the crowd of people waiting for treatment. "From what I can tell, Hitoshi-sama, the majority of the moderate to severely wounded have already been taken into rooms for healing. Of course, there are several individuals who have been waiting for some time now for minor things, and are understandably irritated." Her eyes flicked toward the rowdy bunch in the far corner from where the two stood, voices expressing frustrations reaching their ears even over the din of the waiting room. "All else is under control, given the rather unprecedented situation."
She fell silent, eyes closing as she drew inward for a moment; she had moved well beyond her capabilities during this day, having first worked throughout the night and then through the incident which had brought them to this place. Her body was exhausted, mind moreso, yet still she kept going, running on adrenaline. Fatigue had worked itself onto her face, carving fine shadows underneath her eyes. She wasn't used to this sort of exertion, and while her body was young, it lacked the proper conditioning to maintain the levels she currently demanded. Tanaka Mai was spent.
Swaying slightly, she opened her eyes, exhaustion now fully evident on her face, along with something akin to gratitude. "Hitoshi-sama, I...I think I need to rest," she said at length, speaking in a low, husky tone. Her shoulders slouched slightly as her upper body sunk into a concave frame; it wasn't a pronounced change in posture for any casual observer, but due to their near-intimate proximity "Fath...My father will be fine, you're right. Hasegawa-Fukutaichou is more than capable." She did want to see him, but she opted to side with her better judgement; in her emotional state, she probably would scream and cry, yell at him, and then fling herself across him, sobbing. It would be a hard lesson for the both of them, one where the roles had been switched -- she had put Malik through the emotional wringer several times as she grew, and while this would be a humbling experience for her, she was not ready to endure it.
But it would come for her one day.
Mustering a small smile for Harupia's benefit, and to chase away the emotion threatening to steal across her face, Mai lowered her chin toward her chest, leaning forward into a slight bow. "Thank you for your concern...and your praise." She rose, resuming her previous, alert posture, and excused herself from the vicinity. Perhaps, she mused, she could experience the wonder of falling asleep in her cramped office, or, perish the thought, of one of the bed in the division for other members. Perish the thought.

Smiling gently, Chie nodded, and bowed deeply. Eyes cold like winter, frosting as she broke her gaze from him, her face obscured as she bent low, her tresses skirting the ground.
"As you wish, sir. Good day to you both."
As she bent, her thin fingers secured their prize, being Von. The creature had ambled her way, having freed himself from the gentle petting of his new friend. As she righted herself, she pulled up her hood, her face having already returned to its previous state. She turned, fox in tow, and made to retreat from the division as fast as her feet would carry her.
She would relay the message to her Taicho, of course, as ordered, but she would not do so directly. She would pass it onto a higher ranked member, someone much more worthy of an audience with her division leader.
So it would be natural to assume that once Chie returned to the division, having stowed Von somewhere safe, she would report her information and it would make its way to Kurisuna.

Haru listened to Mai in silence, looking at the gathered crowd with a calm gaze. It seemed just as his fellow medic described, a bit tense, but all under control. That was good. It was nigh impossible to avoid aggravating some of the people with waiting, but they would get treated sooner then latter. All in all he had to say everyone passed this test quite well, to his joy.
Though this joy only showed in a small smile, as fatigue also had its mark on the Captain. Being on his feet just as long as the younger medic, while taking the burden of the more serious cases over the time had dented his energies. Still, the fatigue was mostly physical. He could feel that his inner energies were still far from spent, and as for the body, he would worry about rest once he was sure there was no risk of anyone dying on him as he rested.
Still, he understood Mai's need to rest quite well. This was a huge test of her endurance, the first serious crisis she had to face. As she spoke he gave her shoulder a gentle touch while saying "But of course, you should rest. It was a a daunting time for all of us. But you handled the strain in an admirable fashion. Rest well, cause you might find yourself having a bit more tasks on you plate in the next few days" he said with a wink of the eye. With all the work he had seen her do, a proper reward was in order. But he wanted the situation to calm down before he handled promoting the most worthy members of the Division.
Harupia returned her bow with one of his own, and then let her go away to seek rest while quickly saying "Sleep well" as she walked away. He hoped she wouldn't have trouble finding a place to sleep. He asked for the sleeping quarters to be opened up in case of overflow of patients, but there should be some room. Letting himself yawn a bit as she walked away, Harupia ventured fourth towards through the hallway, looking around for a place he could help with . He trusted Hotaru would take care of Tanaka-Taicho well. And there was still work to be done.

This is going to be the lamest post ever, so I am sorry up front. Things are going on and I will not bore myself, let alone you, with the details. Basically I am going to quick cure Malik and exit myself from RP until further notice. I Will try to get back one day. Again, so sorry. Hotaru would indeed begin. Her skill was such that she would use all her resources to repair the damage to Malik's back. Fortunately for them both, he had received initial treatment in the field by his daughter. Otherwise, his fate would no doubt have been decidedly different. Her exhaustion limit was beginning to show and as she worked her bedside manner was less than it normally would have been. Still, her abrupt manner would either be excused or not. Mallik would have to take that up with Harupia if he should find fault in his care under her hands. Bowing her way out of the room once she was satisfied that he was 'all better now', she fled the infirmary for parts unknown. Off to be sure. Perhaps that blow to her head was hampering her faculties more than anyone suspected. [exit]

"Hm.. Must be some kind of event going on that I've forgotten about.." And so began Malik's walk back to his own Division, lost in deep thought as to what it was he was forgetting. And also musing over the prospect of being thrown a surprise party, but that never happened. No one ever remembered his birthday D:.
