☉ Five feet and eleven inches tall (180 centimeters).
☉ He weighs 154 lbs (70 kg).
☉ Long (slightly past shoulder-length) and straight charcoal coloured hair. Sometimes he keeps it loose with a few bangs hanging along the sides of his face and above his eyes. Other times he keeps it tied back.
☉ His eyes are sharp and rather thin, their colour that of Onyx. A lean face with a sharp chin and cheekbones that are neither too high nor too low. He shaves regularly, so it is unlikely that anyone will catch him with facial hair. His lips are thin, and so are his eyebrows.
☉ A lean build, his muscles are not bulky and don't stand out. A broad back however keeps him from looking scrawny. His limbs and torso are of average length - a generally well-balanced body-type. His fingers are a little long.
☉ His skin is fair and in a generally good condition, as he likes being presentable. He doesn't take care of it too much however, so it is not all that soft to the touch.
☉ While on duty, he favours traditional shinigami attire. When going casual he prefers upper-class clothing like kimonos.

Personality
☉ Ryōichi has a generally calm, stoic and very dignified attitude like that of a true noble. Even while relaxing he is always reserved, minds his manners, chooses his words carefully and acts with general humility. When he smiles and laughs, he never does so too openly - a gentle upward curve of the lips and a light chuckle can very well be interpreted as 'laughing out loud'. Sometimes, he may be seen as antisocial and apathetic, or at least socially awkward. That is far from the truth however, for he is just a naturally quiet person. When approached he can be kind, gentle, understanding and friendly. He deeply enjoys conversations of any and all topics, whether it is about philosophy, current events or a novel that has recently come out. Public outings and events are also all-time favourites of his. While off-duty, more than often can he be seen traversing the streets of Seireitei and Rukongai - sometimes aimlessly.
☉ When on the line of duty, he remains resolute, calm, firm and always focused on the task no matter the circumstances. Whether it is conducting an investigation, questioning a subject or hunting down a target, he will try to accomplish his mission with the out-most efficiency. He generally sees no task as too small or menial for him to not put his all into it. Even if the task is paperwork, he will do it without a single complaint. While he may come off as intimidating, obsessive and maybe even cruel at times, deep down he can be a very passionate and idealistic individual. He puts as much effort as he can into his work because he sees his duty as a shinigami to be both an obligation as well as a privilege. As such, serving the people of Seireitei and Rukongai is something that he takes great pride in. At the same time, this has caused him to develop a largely negative view of all those who dare threaten the peace and order of the land. Naturally, the ones who are the lowest in his eyes are the hollows.
☉ Out of all his -numerous- interests swordsmanship is his favourite, for in the end he has a warrior's heart. He greatly enjoys sparring both as a past-time and as a way of honing his skills. What he seeks in his opponents is not mere skill but also character, personality, force of will and a strong ideology. When he formally asks another warrior to spar with him it can be a sign of respect, interest or both. His fighting style is a direct result of his personality - swift, forward and elegant. He focuses more on speed and technique, never allowing a fight to drag on if he can help it. He has a sharp mind that he never forgets to use in a fight and it is VERY hard to phase him or throw him off focus due to his extreme amounts of self-control. Indeed, none of his colleagues have ever heard him raise his voice.

History
☉ Born on December 29^th, 1476 n.w., in the Aoyama family of the 1^st Rukongai District. His father's name is Hayato and his mother's Aoko.
☉ Ryōichi happily spends his early years with his parents, not caring much about the future yet - 1476- 1496 n.w.
☉ Ryōichi picks up several farming skills as well as how to make excellent pickled vegetables. Still, he doesn't feel content. He also discovers his artistic roots, learning calligraphy, ink-brush painting (sumi-e painting) as well as how to play the flute. While he enjoys those things as hobbies he doesn't feel like making them anything more than that - 1496- 1576 n.w.
☉ While taking a walk around the 3^rd District he witnesses a group of Shinigami taking care of a number of criminals - 1576 n.w.
☉ Unable to forget the incident, he spends a long time thinking. In the end, he decides that what he wants to be is a Shinigami - 1580 n.w.
☉ He applies to become a member of the Gotei Five with his family's blessing. He is accepted and joins the 4^th Division - 1580 n.w.
☉ Ryōichi finds his calling in swordsmanship and so he starts to train extensively in order to improve his skill with his zanpakuto - 1582 n.w.
☉ Ryōichi's skill with the sword improves drastically and so does his footwork. He doesn't forget to visit his parents whenever he can - 1582 - 1782 n.w.
☉ He is given a Seated Position, albeit of very low ranking. He gratefully accepts it, seeing it as a validation of his efforts - 1783 n.w.
☉ Ryōichi continues to work to the outmost of his ability while perfecting his fighting style. Meanwhile, he slowly rises through the ranks of the 4^th Division - 1783- 1999.
☉ He is offered the 5^th Seat of the 4^th Division, which he accepts - 2000 n.w.

☉ While early in life he felt like had no direction, Ryōichi soon grew to be a man who knows exactly what he wants. Finding a purpose in his duty and pride in the smiles of the people that he serves, he has always put his all into anything he would get his hands on. While extremely dedicated and disciplined, he hasn't forgotten his origins or how to relax. He still paints and plays music in his spare time, wanders around, visits his parents, goes to the theater and enjoys what he loves. He is always ready to pick up his sword however, and doesn't forget that a Shinigami's duty is never put on hold.

☉ A noble-looking young man, seemingly around his early twenties. He is defined by his golden spiky hair, flawless fair skin, eerie crimson eyes and aura of superiority and arrogance. He stands at about 6 feet and weighs 149 pounds, his body proportions perfectly balanced and with a lean but extremely well-toned musculature. He is always covered with golden plate armor that leaves only his head visible, and heavy golden earrings hang from his ears. The Emperor (as he likes to call himself for short) is extremely arrogant, self-centered and egotistical. He has a very high opinion of himself and can be offended by even the smallest remark. At the same time, he can be very disrespectful and tactless. However he is always honest, straight and dignified, even while showering someone with insults. While most would probably give up on trying to connect with such a spirit, Ryouichi is on surprisingly good terms with the Emperor. That is because Ryouichi's personality is a perfect contrast for the overly self-centered spirit. When others would raise their voice, Ryouichi stays calm. When others would be sarcastic, he stays polite. As such he can actually handle the spirit quite well.

Inner World

☉ As his spirit would call it, Ryōichi's inner world is worthy of a true emperor. In the middle of a fast, grassy plain lies an enormous and luxurious palace. Its outside walls are covered with gold and silver, and the inside is only even more impressive. Priceless pieces of art rest on the walls and stools which are adorned with gold, silver and precious gems - and that pales in comparison with the treasury, or so the spirit claims. In there, the Emperor lives a life of luxury. Even though there are no servants there is always food and sake in the dining room and the spirit likes to dine regularly, when not sitting on his throne and/or conversing with his Shinigami. The taste of the food and drink is directly connected with Ryōichi's emotional state, having a wonderful taste when he is in high spirits and a horrible taste when he is sad.
