People don't get many letters in the mail these days. It's all junk or adverts or something generally unpleasant. Nothing personal. Nothing that brings about this fuzzy feeling that somewhere out there, someone wrote me a letter just to write me a letter.
In grade school, we had penpals. We wrote letters to one another and eventually met up and had the kind of fun you expect second-graders to have. The novelty soon wore off, because hey, we're second graders, and we soon forgot about these friends we had made over the postal system.
Recently, some ungodly number of years later as I moved into my house, I came to the realization that all I get is junk mail geared toward low-income housing and hot new specials for new residents and the local paper that I don't want because I'm allergic to it and it kills so many trees. I thought it would be awesome to get a letter from someone.
And then I thought, well, what if I gave someone a letter? Wouldn't that be awesome? Wouldn't that be cool, just to make someone else's day? Yes, I think it would.
So, do you, fair folk of Akatokiyami, wish to be my penpal? Would you give my your address so that I may send you a letter, and that you could send one back to me? Wouldn't that be grand?
Let me know in a PM if you're interested...I can send a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) back if you want so you don't have to pay for postage, though you international people would have to pay for your own to me since I have no idea of the currency exchange rates when it comes to postage.
I suppose if anyone else wants to jump on the bandwagon, they can do so here in this thread too, but I strongly suggest you don't post your own address and have people PM personal stuff around. o.o
edit- feel free to ask questions, too >>

First batch of letters went out to the mailbox this evening, when I finally remembered to get envelopes from the store o:
Expect them some time next week~!
Unless of course they can't read my handwriting, then expect them the week after xD

I don't care that the post office thinks my house doesn't exist! I shall still send you letters!
