So, I was browsing about the TV today, and one of the abstracts for one of the movies was that a man had inherited $300 million, but in order to claim it, he had to spend $30 million in thirty days. I found this a little interesting, and was thinking to myself if I could spend it.
And I think I could. Could you?

Oh heck yeah. A nice large ranch, hire people to build my dream house and animal stalls and sheds, get the animals I've always wanted, get a nice car, truck, motorcycle, hire a permanent maid, get into college...buy clothes, jewelry, more clothes, shoes...all the shoes o.o....get my nails done...Ok maybe this is a little harder than expected, I'd over pay for EVERYTHING and tip EVERYONE who served me for anything. Give a million to my mom, a million to my dad, both my brothers, two million to my sister...two million to my best friend. I'd buy my grandpa's old church...
Any money left of the 30 million I'd give to several different charities.

The question is so easy I don't even have to bother to say how I could spend it.
Give off 30 million to charities. And done, I still have 270 million. More than enough to get property and rent, pay off all of my family's debts, get everything materialistic dream of mine come true and still be left with money on the side.
Really, some people just have all the luck.
.......I really do hope I didn't jinx him and he doesn't end up being run over by a car or something....

If by spend you mean dispose the money by any means necesarry, then Im preaty sure it wouldnt be that hard. Always can give some money to charity or family if you really dont have stuff to buy.
If it would be just buying stuff, it might be a bit more tricky, but I think Id manage o.o

I think if the obvious choice of donating to charity were excluded, then the next obvious choice to me would be to contact a real estate agent, and buy $30 million worth of property. I would think, depending on the size of the city you live in, that that would not be too difficult.

Just to fully clarify, the scenario is from Brewster's Millions. From the 1985 film, the rules are as follows. (taken from Wikipedia)
"Brewster is challenged to either take $1 million upfront, or spend $30 million within 30 days to inherit $300 million. If he chooses the former, the law firm becomes the executor of the estate and divides the money among charities (after taking a fee). In the latter case, after 30 days, he may not own any assets that are not already his, and he must get value for the services of anyone he hires. He may donate only 5% to charity and lose 5% by gambling. And he is not allowed to tell anyone, even Spike. Brewster decides to take the $30 million challenge. Angela Drake (McKee), a paralegal from the law firm must accompany him to keep tabs on all spending."

I'd buy an boat and an island, stock it with a lifetime of food, supplies and entertainment (music mostly). After all that I should have another 10 million or so which would be divided in half, half buried in a discrete location and the other half for my family members.
When receiving the the other 270 million I'd set aside 70 million for taxes. I don't exactly know how taxes work on boats and islands so that's just a guesstimate. With remaining 200 million I would either create my own charity or evenly donate to 200 different ones. Depends on how much it costs to start and run a charity, and if there are even 200 out there that I would be interested in.

So, if I understand the parameters outlined for the movie, after the 30 days you have to end up with exactly what you started with. You have to spend the $30 million, but you can't have anything to show for it. That would make things a bit more difficult.
