I would safely say yes. He bitch slaps the hell out of Ares all the time, so why not.

Ares is a god, not a demon.

Exactly, a god. One who wields godly magics

I thought we were talking Ares, not Hecate. When I think of Ares, I think of the God of War who uses weapons and his fists, not magic per say.

The weapons he uses are made from his magic, as is his strength an extension of that magic. He also gets stronger with conflict, yet even when the entire world is at war, or fighting. Superman can still one shot him.

Okay, though I must ask... in what DC universe is Ares comparable to Trigon? He's conquered universes, sired who knows how many offspring, and is evil incarnate quite literally.
Not to mention, aren't Kryptonians pretty much normal underneath the rays of a red sun? Teleport Superman to the right solar system and he's toast.

Gods in the DCU, anyways. Additionally I will give a prime example as to why when it comes to a contest in which Superman can hit you why he's going to win. The following explains the limiters he's put on his body through training.
" Over the course of his life and acquisition of power under a yellow sun, Superman has learned how to place mental inhibitors on his own power. These "limiters" as he calls them, are used to keep his power in check so that he doesn't accidentally "flex and cause the tectonic plates to shift." Though it is known that he has placed several of these limiters within his own mind, it is unknown how many and just how powerful he would be if he decided to release them all (although a fully unrestrained Superman has managed to destroy an entire universe in the past). To him, they are the barriers that allow him to be human enough to live a normal life, and he only ever releases one of them when fighting a particularly powerful opponent or performing a predominately difficult task."
And it wouldn't weaken him instantly. It would take time. Brainiac tried the same method when he sent Superman to Kandor. Didn't pan out so well for Brainiac.

I am so tired of Superman. :<

Brainiac is a cybernetic life-form with an ego though. Still, I think anyone who can take a hit from Superman can dish it right back at him.
Blame Mal, I'm just throwing ideas around for fighters that can do this and that.

Half-demon son of Sparda versus demon summoning daughter of a Lumen Sage and an Umbra Witch, might be fun.
Hey, how about an ego fight?
Seto Kaiba versus Tony Stark, let the battle of the egos commence! Well, and money too I guess.

Ego fight?
Gil wins. Even if he's not involved. Because I feel driven to wank and insert my favorite character into every fight I'm convinced he'd triumph in.

Haru...why do you want Bayonetta to fight? Doesn't she use her hair both for attack...and for clothing?

Seto would destroy him with just looking at him. His ego is off the chart's.

Says the leaf who brings up the obvious. >>;
And the one and only King of Heroes, Haru. That said, in an ego fight, do we throw The Tick into it? I can't recall if he's got an ego or he's just really odd when it comes to his thinking...

What in the frozen hells did you just say, you little bear? I’ll have you know I graduated top of Uruk and of the lineage of Gods, and I’ve been involved in the collection of every famed weapon in the world, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in shock and awe warfare and I’m the top golden warrior that has ever been or will be. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you into the mongrel's dirt with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my righteous words. You think you can get away with saying that snake's line to me over the Internet? Think again, peasant. As we speak I am arming my mystical machines of flight and aqua-travel right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You will cease to be to the point where your memory will be called into question, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the known and unknown world's greatest single treasury and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable being off the face of the continent, you little mongrel. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your filthy tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you thrice-damned idiot. I will expel blades and fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’ve been dead from the moment you drew breath, mongrel.

With copypasta? I contest this.
I also predict that if I hadn't included this line, the next post would have been someone saying "Denied" but maybe not in so few words.
