Sun had set over Seireitei. In the twilight, thousands of tiny fires were twinkling. Some were in the sky, some were situated closer to the street, atop great posts, their glimmer illuminating the ground beneath them. From each of the four corners of the city as well as the great building in the centre, the four divisions expelled their workforce. A sea of black figures swarmed out of the five divisions, their work day done. Though some wandered away from the crowd, most filtered to the North-East and South-West of the city, headed home to their loved ones.
From the great pillar in the centre of Seireitei came a solitary creature, tall with a head of flame, a contrast to her icy personality. Alone she strode westward towards the prison of the settlement. It was not a unique trip for her. Kabelja had been there the day before, after all, to arrange this work.
"Kabelja Watson, First Division."
The solitary First Division member was admitted without any hassle from the guards. They had been told to expect Kabelja after all. The wide foyer glowed in dim candlelight. A few remained in the building, more than were in the First when she had left it, but still the majority had left.

A pair of red eyes glows in the dark slowly walking towards the light. Black hair slightly person looks at other person. "Watson, Kabelja I presume. I'm Kajimoni, Shandina Sixth seat in forth Division pleasure to met you?" She said as she turns around being silent the rest of time cause she hate guard duty as much but she knows due to lack of attendance she has to do it. Shandina let out small yawn from her mouth her hand covering her mouth while other one is near her Zanpakutō in case because she has trust issues. Why would first division person would come here in prison doesn't make since. She thought as she continues to looks around in here. "May I ask why are you doing here?" she said as she looks at Kabelja.

Kabelja bowed before the Shinigami before her colleague, as was her tradition, her locks bound behind her, staying in place.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Sixth Seat Kajimoni. I am here at the request of Fifth Seat Aoyama. I had thought that he had informed the guards of my coming."
Kabelja left herself open deliberately. She expected that Shandina was purely being cautious, and made no effort to defend herself, so as not to aggravate her host. If the worst were to happen, then her division knew of her whereabouts. It would take a conspiracy on a massive scale to cover up murder.
Was such a thing occurring among the Gotei? Communications had been slow, and there were other oddities occurring...

A lone figure clothed in robes of black quietly moved through the crowds of people going about their own respective ways. Some to their homes, some to a pub, some to a park - to be frank, anyone could be going to just about anywhere, goodness knows what kind of ways some people invent in order to kill time. But the man of black was not amongst those people, he wasn't going to rest or relax, to drink or to eat. Work had ended, only for more to come up. It wasn't abrupt of course, it had been arranged the day before thanks to unscheduled, short, but overall productive meeting. From one foe to the next, from the person to the paper, from the sword to the brush - the fight went on, even if the methods were going to change for this night. And it was going to be a long night, that he was certain of as he almost trembled at the ferocious sight that he and his colleagues would soon come to face. But he was ready, as ready as anyone could be, possibly even more so than that. Everything was arranged.
Still, what hadn't been arranged was the delay. According to the schedule, he should've been relieved of his duties roughly 30 minutes ago, which would mean that he was supposed to be back in the Division some time ago. However the new shift took longer to report for duty thanks to a few embarrassing circumstances that a few coughing fits and a couple runny noses. In short, half the previous shift had come down with a sudden cold and it took time to find people to fill in for the missing spots in the squad. Such an incredible hassle, he thought, and now he was late for his appointment too. Hopefully the redhead wouldn't hold it against him and would understand that sometimes things may not go according to plan. Hopefully. Or maybe she would criticize the whole incident regardless. To be frank, he did not care at that point.
With a short nod he would walk past the guards stationed at the gates, not bothering to verbally greet them - and neither did they. Aside from officer Aoyama's cold attitude sometimes unnerving those of lower rank who did not know him well, his current attitude didn't help either. A gaze of cold steel, fixated upon his goal -the main building- didn't make him look like the kind of man who had time for idle chit-chat, or the mood for it. No one minded at the time, considering the hour.
Nearly bursting through the doors and coming to a halt within the main lobby, his eyes immediately came to rest upon 2 figures that he was quite familiar with; that of the stern Kabelja Watson that he had come to know recently, and that of the younger-looking Kajimoni Shandina, a colleague of his in the same Division for a few centuries now.
"I apologize for the delay, there were a few complications regarding the changing of the shifts at the southern walls. I assume you two got acquainted...?" he asked as he approached the duo with swift and straight steps.

Shandina glares at Aoyama then lets out a sigh before looks away from him. "Your always late as ever Aoyama-san." She said as she leans on the wall while her arms crossed while her voice sounded like she was mad at him. She try to cool down from her rage cause he left her alone to guard around. She never like being alone but she never shows her weakness or her guard down. She pulls out a book and fakes reads it while Kabelja and Aoyama talk for a bit. She cover her mouth while yawning again either getting bored from guard duty or shes getting tired. Long shifts isn't helping her dealing with her nightmare. Its almost same time i take couple days off to visit them Or go back to place again she thought as she shock her head then spoke out loud. "No cant bring myself down I'll just go visit they're graves like every year." she said as her eyes closed as her head goes down.

"Briefly." She looked towards Ryōichi in her usual emotionless stare. "Greetings, Fifth Seat Aoyama. I have just arrived myself, but if you feared a significant delay, could you not have had one of my division send a Hell Butterfly?"
Indeed, for ease of communications there were a few First Division members serving with those on the wall, spread all along the perimeter. The nights were long and cold, usually given to new or disgraced members. It was far from a glamorous position.
"Strange? Did my sword just resonate?" She somehow became particularly aware of it at the thought of the outside.
She dismissed the notion. Other things were more imminent, and more tangible.
"Have you the documentation prepared, Aoyama-san?"

At that point, a small voice on the inside of his head demanded that he retort and defend himself, to note that he is rarely -if ever- late due to his general dislike of disorganized working methods, as well as give a proper explanation as to why a Hell Butterfly was not sent. However that small unruly voice wasquickly silenced by the man's much more developed sense of reason, that dictated such a course of actions to be an unnecessary waste of time. He wasn't as late as he thought he would be and, considering the amount of paperwork they had to work on, bickering about this would only come back to bite them in the end. As such, Ryōichi accepted Shandina's annoyance and Kabelja's response with a rather passive attitude, merely letting the words pass over him without paying much mind.
"I have given the rest of the Division specific orders to not touch the papers until they are to be taken care of. They are as well organized as they could possibly be under the circumstances I would say. This way." he would say in a formal tone, perfectly business like, before turning his back to the women in order to walk towards the office. While having heard Shandina speaking to herself he made no comment of it, for the same reason that he didn't try to start an argument to justify his being late.
The trip would be extremely short, barely a couple of minutes passing before they came into a halt before door to the Taichou's office. It was clean, looking quite new and not damaged in any sort of way, with a slightly dusty doorknob. Indeed, it was quite clear that the office was no longer occupied by its previous owner, and for some time at that too. Lightly grasping the metalic object, Ryōichi's lithe fingers would turn it around before the door could be pushed open. Making way for the two women to enter first, the interior became visible now - as well as the many many many stacks of paper among the floor, desk, chairs, couch, coffee table and just about any place that had enough room to accomodate the far too held up paperwork.
For someone like Kabelja, so used to delivering every single document on time, this image must've been nothing short of hell, like a graveyard filled with unburried bodies.

Shandina watches carefully of the two while quickly turns her head hearing something in the prison area. She left the two while check it out on her own to see if her gut was right about the noise. She continue to walk on her own with her hand near her weapon while other one at her side. Shandina looks around while walking she notice one of doors open her eyes widen open then checks finds one of criminal escape and killed some of her comrades. She quickly runs toward area where the lever was so she pull the lever to sound alarm out in the entire division. Don't tell me this isn't planed from them this is why I hate first Division people. She thought as she walks around trying to look for clues to find the criminal or her where about.

Kabelja obediently followed her guide as they snaked deeper into the bowels of the division, until they reached it, the now abandoned office of the Taichou, abandoned save for bundles of papers, some caked with a thin film of dust. They certainly were behind on their paperwork.
Kabelja entered, and conducted a brief survey of the papers strewn in bundles around the room, her mind estimating the quantity and complexity of each document.
"Estimated time to completion, six nights."
"Shall we get started then, Fifth Sea-"
Her speech, and walk over to Kiba's desk was interrupted by a loud wail, piercing through her ears, echoing up and down the halls. She knew this alarm, a prisoner had escaped. Even with the blaring sirens, the sound of metal upon metal was heard, as Kabelja drew her blade, readying it for action.
"My blade is with you, Aoyama-san. Awaiting orders."

As the alarm still going off Shandina try to look for clues to the escape criminal where about. She found a hole then go down and after her while not caring what others are doing. As she going down in the hole trying find where this going and where the criminal is before anyone discover the escape. If anyone is taken the fall it would be me. She thought as she continues to go down to the hole but end up in the sewers. "Now where does this icky sewer leads to." She said to herself while continues to walk where sewer leads on.

'.....Something doesn't want this paperwork filled in.' was the sole thought that passed through the male's mind as the sound of the siren pierced through the walls of the Division, easily detectable for more than a few blocks away. That's what happens when the entire place is going down the drain - patrol schedules get screwed up and prisoners apparently escape. But that was not the worst thing here. What was truly horrible right now was that fact that he -he- had no choice but to take control of the situation. There was no Taichou, no Fukutaichou, no Third Seat or Fourth Seat - only Fifth. That meant that when half a dozen armed-and-ready Shinigami of the Fourth Division whose names he did not know came rushing in through the doors, it was his responsibility to give them their orders.
"...Watson-san, please be ready to send a Hell Butterfly. All of you, come with me. Have your zanpakutō at ready, we don't know how many prisoners may have escaped." he said calmly before turning around and lightly jogging towards the prison, his sword yet to be drawn.
'How odd....how come we saw no one? If the prisoner wanted to escape they would've had to pass through the entirety of the Fourth Division headquarters. Someone should've seen him or her, even more so if it was 'them'.' he thought as they moved through the hallway. Eventually they reached the prison area, and came to gaze upon the large hole on the ground - as well as the bodies of their falled comrades. There were so few of them actually! There should've been more guards here at around the time, he was sure of that. But that was not the point - the point was that enormous hole that was large enough for someone to enter! Were they supposed to assume that someone slew the guards and then casually dug/detonated their way through ground and stone without anyone hearing them or coming across them?
"Underneath...an escape somewhere closeby? Or perhaps....sewers? Watson-san, we need another member of the First Division here, anyone will do. We'll need that one individual to send Hell Butterflies to the patrols around the city with the escapee's face after we realize who it is. You three!" he said sharply, making a sudden 180o turn in order to face the Shinigami that he was currently addressing, "Stay here, find more prison-guards and confirm who escaped. Then, help the member of the First Division send an accurate description - make sure to mention the sewers. And make sure no one else gets away! The rest of you, and Watson-san, please come with me. And grab some lights..." he said, giving Kabelja some time to send a message before 'going down the rabbit-hole', so to speak. If only their destination was as magical as that figure of speech made it sound...
"From that smell it really must lead to the old sewers bellow. Good for disappearing, it will be near impossible to find them without luck. Do they know where they are going however?" he mumbled out loud as the smell and dampness of the cold dark sewers gradually began to overtake their surroundings. Truly, had they not brought lights with them it would've been near impossible to navigate under these conditions. In the meantime however, his mind kept racing and calculating possibilities.

The two were met by a number of the golden guards, approaching the pair, awaiting instruction from their Fifth Seat.
"Curious how they came to a long-abandoned office. Although I am not aware of any crisis in the division since Shuchiku's departure." Though that thought was somewhat worthless. She wasn't aware of ANYTHING that happened in the division in recent days. That is why she was here, after all. But that could wait.
She followed the group to the prison wing, as they grouped around the hole to the sewer. She wasn't sure which was more powerful, the scent of the sewer or that of the dead bodies...no, it was definitely the sewer. The bodies were freshly deceased, after all.
The lady nodded at her orders, walking into the corner of the room where it was slightly quieter, speaking softly to her hand.
"This is Kabelja Watson, nineteenth seat. There has been a prisoner escape at the fourth division. Identity is currently unknown. We already have fatalities, but no known injured. Subject has escaped into the sewer system. Please send a courier and a sketch artist from the Third, and alert the patrols to be extra vigilant. Will send through more details as they become available."
Her palm raised, as if tossing something into the air, and a creature, as black as the shadows still cast throughout the halls darted through the corridor. "Apologies for the slight deviation of orders. Hell Butterflies are only capable of delivering auditory data, not visual. If we wish to distribute the escapee's face, then we'll need to make a physical drawing."
Kabelja then sheathed her blade, exchanging her held item for a torch she removed from the wall. It was semi-fortunate that it was night, as they were already lit.
One may have thought that Kabelja, her uniform so pristine, would have some objection to diving into a sewer, but it was not so. The lass leapt down the orifice in the ground, into the sewer system of Seireitei without a second thought, not caring and barely reacting even to the slimy water seeping into her clothing. Upon landing, she moved away from the hole a few feet, to allow the rest to follow suit.
Certainly, the tunnels were dark and dank, illuminated only by a few torches.
"I would advise against prolonged presence in these tunnels. The fumes from the sewage are likely hazardous to health."
They would have to move quickly, but the tunnels were a venerable warren, Kabelja had seen the plans, though she hadn't them memorized. Even if they did have a perfect knowledge of the sewer system, they still had no idea where the escapee, or escapees, were.

Shandina continues to walk in the dark trying to find the escapee while trips on something try not to breath from lethal fumes from a old sewers. She got up and walked slowly while hearing footsteps from both directions. Hope they don't bring fire for lighting because fumes and fire make big explosion it may be what escapee wanted. She thought as she cut her thumb with her weapon try to make a sign for Aoyama or the First division. She started to walk slowly while breathing heavy the fumes getting to her Blood dripping from her thumb after using it to warn her comrades. Damn these fumes are nauseating i must find this criminal before word spread out. She thought as she continue to walk in right direction while making blood trail.

At that moment, they were indeed fortunate. The group, Shandina, as well as the criminal/s that had escaped through the sewers that is, as not all fumes are explosive by nature - otherwise, they would've blown the entire sewer system up, seeing how the closed off environment would've filled up over who knows how many centuries of isolation. Plus the gases would've leaked within the cell-block, which had torches to provide light, and caused a most magnificent explosion longer before the alarm was even ringed. Truly, they had no choice but to bring the torches with them (seeing how there are no other methods of illumination) as there was not even a shred of light within these dark, damp tunnels forgotten by almost everyone on the surface. There were no crevices for the sun's rays to slip through - and even if there were the sun was down right now. If he managed to find her, Ryōichi would most probably be amazed at how Shandina was able to walk even 20 steps under these conditions without being a bat or a mole.
The Fifth Seat's nose wrinkled lightly and he brought his left sleeve up to his face in order to cover the lower half - nose, mouth and jaw all together. He was obviously not enjoying this small detour at all, but duty was duty, and once more it would have to be noted that it was going to be a cold day in hell before he let escapees just waltz their way out of the Fourth Division.
"That is fine, Watson-san. Later have them check the files for additional information, as I doubt we'll find them here. But this is odd...." he would say clearly at first, only for his voice to devolve to a whisper during the last period - understandable as those 4 words were addressed to himself rather than his companions.
'Unless they took light with them, this place is pitch-black. Plus the fumes make it impossible to travel for long, and you can't run in this place either. Easy to get lost too. Do they have the plans? Information? Outside help? Was this even an organized, planned-out escape, or was it done out of desperation? A sudden chance...'
"Be ready for an ambush, and have your eyes open for bloodstains in case they got injured." he said as they walked, though whether or not blood could be spotted along the dirty walls and even dirtier 'floor' was questionable. And leaning towards the 'nope' end of the scale. Or at least that is what he thought.

The Escapees~ Ambush? The large man narrowed his vision, his alert eyes already used to the darkness. He was a creature of it after all, so it wasn't much to get used to. Or was it? He couldn't be sure it had been so long since the last time he had crawled out of bed to stretch his legs. How long had it been? A month, two months.. A year... Ten thousand million years, or an entirely other life time. He sat and befuddled himself on this subject for quite some time until his still groggy and often stinky partner in all things began to sob again. "Oi, stup dat, y'all get us caught'cha will." The stinker however, now feeling ashamed for having being told to stop it only cried all the more. The large man sighed and cuddled his lifetime friend, ignoring the strong scent of soiled britches. He only hoped it wasn't running down onto him.... Again... "Oi, Oi Jinri. Is it da dark got'cha all scared is it, I bet'cha it is, it is. Tell ya what, I'll get a mov'n and we'll be oughta dis dark place faster than I can get a girl's knickers down!" That of course sparked a titter of laughter and a tight squeeze of a hug around the big man's neck. Jinri of course knowing the only time he'd gotten a girl out of her pants was when he fell through the roof and into Makoto's bath. Oh memories~ Standing, the large man had to duck his head a bit else wise he'd brain himself on the sewer's roof. It was a decent sized area, but it was not meant for a man of his overwhelming stature, nor was it meant for much fighting. Though, for whatever reason he felt at home here. Who knows, he may find himself a cave in the darkness filled with all sorts of shiny things, with buttons! Oh and maybe a nice black horseless carriage, that'd be swell. Turning away from the voice, he started to take long stride away, ducking and weaving his head as he did so.

Though thick sludge the party trawled, seeking the scum of Seireitei in the scum of Seireitei. It was somewhat poetic. Though the longer they walked, the more Kabelja realised something. The probability of finding their escapee or escapees was extremely small. There were many twists and turns in this place. Each split in the path was one more place the criminal may be hiding, one more place they could not check.
"This is ridiculous."
"Aoyama-san, may I have a word?"
If allowed she would continue.
"I evaluate our chances of finding a single entity or group of entities to be around 3.5%. The subject is probably on the move, the sewers have many branching pathways and our light will likely alert them of our presence. I would suggest securing all surface access points, then making a full sweep of the sewers, securing each area as it is cleared. There is always the possibility that they create their own access point, as they did to enter here, though."
If she wasn't allowed, then it was just more trudging through the sewer. Of course, Kabelja was aware that she was in ignorance here. Aoyama-san far outranked her, and such acts were the speciality of his division, not hers.

She heard voices due to her training with her other senses being strong but the smell is making her want to lose it as she continue to walk closer to the escapees. As she got closer and being quiet while pulling out her zanpakutō then put it close to her face. Pandora give me strength. She thought as she wait for the right moment to go after them and try to be quiet so they don't heard her coming or being close. She mediates to clam down a bit with her zanpakutō on her lap while waiting for Aoyama and Watson to get here but she about to pass out from blood lost. "Aoyama hope your getting as fast you can" She whispers to herself while closing her eyes and starting to fall asleep while waiting.

With his sudden raise of the hand, the group would come to a sudden and unexpected halt. Still, the purpose was quite clear, as this was his way of allowing the woman to speak her mind freely without any interruptions popping up as they walked. He would listen silently, not ever turning to face her even for a second, eyes ever so coldly staring ahead, gaze filled with vigilance. He couldn't disagree with any of the First Division's Ninteenth Seat's arguments - to go beyond that, she had even voiced several facts that he had been thinking about not too long ago. However, that didn't mean that he was going to stop - rather, perhaps it was time to explain his motives a little further than he had. Not a difficult task, seeing how he didn't have time to explain his choice of orders up until this point, considering how pressed they were for time. So he would have to do it in as few words as possible.
"I agree with everything you just said Watson-san. I considered waiting for them to be identified but the sewer's smell can help us with that. The fastest of you, go back to the Division and inform the patrols about this. The search will continue however, as I fear that Kajimoni Shandina may have gone after them on her own." he said in a flat tone, keeping the volume of his voice as low as he could without it being inconvenient. With a simple drop of his hand, one of the remaining unnamed members of the Fourth Division left in a hurried manner, blazing his way towards the crudely made entrance in order to inform the rest of his comrades.
With that said and done, the Fifth seat unceremoniously drew out his sword before proceeding with his most likely futile search. Regardless he had to do so, all the while making sure to keep a close mind on the effect that the fumes had on his senses. As they ventured deeper into the sewer system, the distance they would have to cross in order to return to HQ would increase. As such, chances are they would have to return sooner than expected. Truly, at this point the black-clothed swordsman was more concerned about finding his possibly missing comrade rather than apprehending the escapees. That would happen later for certain, if not sooner.

The Escapees~ Sploshing in the muck of Seireitei, our wayward hero trudged on, carrying his trusty and sniffling companion in tow. He soon discovered however he was fruitlessly lost. "Well d'is here be a pickle it is, it is. Seems they went'n changed zee whole damned city on us." Which in truth wasn't the case, but the large man would argue the fact they did till his adversaries were blue in the face. Either from being so fed up with him, or by the large man himself choking the life out of them. Was a win win for him really. He turned and began to walk back the way he came, muttering and complaining as he did so. "T-t-t-TAICHOUUU SAMAAAAAAAA!!" And the water worked began again, this time much, much louder in a start up fuss'n bawl. The ever so valiant Taichou (or at least he thought himself as such) however would not be annoyed and indeed his chest even puff up with pride. A hand would ruffle the small, stinky and some might call, fat man's hair and a chuckle would rumble from his throat. "Dar dar, lil buddy. Every'ting will be just dandy. If we get all lost and befuddled again I'll just use my big hand here'n punch a way out of d'is here stinky place. Mak'n our own doors is always da best way, remember lil buddy?" The little man looked up at the big man's smiling face, his own face quivering and tear stained, not to mention the boogies. He sniffled once, twice and then nodded fruitfully and gave the man his bestest hug ever. "Dat a boi, now let's getta mov'n before dem jerk faces catch on that we broke their fancy room back dar.""JERKFACES!!!" The fat man flailed his lil arms this way and that, not taking much notice that he was actually thwacking his ride, but the big man didn't seem to mind as he poked his head back out into the maze of tunnels. Although, he may've wanted to cover up lil Jinri's mouth a bit for he was a bit loud and may lead any do gooders right to them. Hint hint <..<; Oi, who's side are you on anyways?! >:(

Silently in the murky darkness Kabelja trudged on. The Fifth seat had satisfied her query, and she made no more, for she did not want to be insubordinate to him. Even though he was not of her division, he was of her Gotei. And this was still his mission.
Her thoughts turned to the sewers itself. Where did they exit onto? After all, the waste of Seireitei had to empty somewhere after all. The stench and the fumes reminded her of a swamp in the wastes that she had read about in some scouting reports. In her admittedly ignorant mind, the environment in both areas could be similar. Was it possible that they were connected? Other reports had talked of a network of tunnels spreading all over the wastelands. It was at this moment that she had a horrid revelation. It would be foolish to think that said tunnels did not exist in the Rukongai region and, by extension, under Seireitei. Was it possible that their sewage flowed through part of the gemstone mines, forming the Miasmic Swamp? It would be hard to believe. She was no scientist, but Kabelja was at least aware that liquids travelled downhill. Of course, she had to admit that she, a lady who rarely went anywhere aside from her office, her house, the market and any areas in-between, never mind the Rukongai, did not know how the altitude of the swamps compared to Seireitei. And was there some way that liquid could flow up? It was all a mystery to her.
True, she may have been wrong about all this, it was all just conjecture, but if correct that would mean that there was an unguarded, underground path from the Wastelands to Seireitei. Hollow could strike from under their feet at any moment. It was likely that the vast majority of the Adjuchas and Arrancar were, for now at least, unaware of such a path, should one exist. If it were so, then they wouldn't have attacked the walls earlier that year. But if it did exist, then inevitably they would find it eventually, and an attack would come.
And if she was wrong...where DID all the sewage go?

Hear voices two of them. She thought as she waited patently for them to do something or her comrades coming. Are they trying to make their own way to get out? She continues to thought more as she started to stretch quietly and covers her mouth to yawn. She can feel bones of dead rats or mice around her but that doesn't scare her but her thumb hurts. She grab her first aid kit from her sleeve to fix her thumb up. One thing comes to her mind when she rubs her thumb with alcohol cloth "Ow!" she said quietly while bandages it up. She puts her first aid kit back in her sleeve then sighs waiting. One two three four.... she count in her head while try not to fall back asleep.

Whatever Ryōichi may have been thinking, it was rudely but also thankfully interrupted by the sounds of two voices. Yes, it was most definitely two voices, male as it seemed, that echoed throughout the dark, damp tunnels that formed this sewer system. It was quite easy for sound-waves to reflect along the walls, reaching farther than one would expect. It was practically impossible to not be heard within a radius of 100 meters (or so the Fifth Seater thought) when shouting at the top of your lungs - and the thugs had just done so. Were they stupid? They must've been, as this was a perfect opportunity for them to sneak off quietly and without being found. Doing something so provocative had to be the result of utter stupidity, or maybe cunning? As a high-ranking officer of the Division tasked on population control and defending the city if worse were to come, so he was always expected to be pessimistic and plan ahead for bad situations. In this case, the 'bad situation' would be the voices inviting them to a trap, and ambush. Now why would they do that? He couldn't think of a legitimate reason, but it was a possibility he couldn't just ignore.
"Prepare yourselves, we may very well be walking into a trap. Your lives are more important than theirs, so you are allowed to kill if it comes to that." he would say in a hushed, flat tone before he started to move as swiftly as he could towards the source of the noise, which was a relatively easy task even if there were a couple of forks along their road. Plus the escapees were still noisy, so they could very well catch a sound here and there that would tip them off. Indeed, this was either a trap or their targets were plain idiots.

The Escapees~ On the contrary, a trap was the last thing on the minds of our dynamic duo, nope they wanted one thing (well a few things but let's just go with one) and one thing only! Their stuff. Jinri had a pretty strong connection with his sword don't'cha know something he was quite fond of repeating. "It's just up ahead! I can feel it, don'tcha know! It's close!" Excited as he was he didn't realized he was doing a little wiggle of a happy dance in his large companion's arm and nearly slipped out! But thankfully for him his big buddy didn't let him fall and hurt himself. Actually it was more for the big guy's benefit for real honest to god crying, always made him cry. Big man is a big softy. "A'right Jinri, a'riht. Just stup yer shake'n yer ass or we'll end up with more shit on yer faces then their ought'a be." It was a proven fact, Jinri often had more shit on his person than most was comfortable with to begin with and was mostly unawares of it, though that didn't stop the big man from reminding him as such. Jinri however feigned ignorance as he did with most things. "Oh, stop, stop! STAWWWWP!" And so, they stopped. Jinri smiled and bounced up and down pointing straight up. "Here, here right above us!" The big man chuckled and put his little friend down in the muck for the first time, oddly enough he looked at home in it. "A'right then. Guess I'll have to dig us a hole." He patted himself and soon discovered he lacked a pick axe.. Or even a shovel. He supposed he could punch through the stone, and then use for his house later.. But that would take much longer. That and he didn't know where to magically store each cube like the Box-headed feller. So frowning he looked down and Jinri. "I dun suppose ye have a hammer or some'thin?" The little man blinked back up to him confounded and confused by the question. He did not know what a hammer was, nor did he care. He had something that never failed! Reaching into his robes he withdrew their most trusted ally, Douglas Daikon. The trusty man shaped radish whom had an all too alluring face. "I've got Douglas, who needs a hamma'a'jig?" Who indeed?! The large man thought, Douglas had never steered them wrong in the past and no one was as powerful as he! "He ain't bother'd by muh use'n'im as a beat'n stick?" The large man (whom had indeed known Douglas longer) didn't actually speak radish, but Jinri had picked it up and whispered to the little white fellow and sure enough Jinri started nodded furiously a few moments later. What followed next could only be described as a very large man bashing a ceiling with a rock. Only in this case, the rock was a impossibly firm radish.

The noise was audible and definite. There was definitely someone nearby. Or someones, as there were two voice. It was their best bet.
"It appears that the odds favour us this day."
She was part of a squad, and she followed that squad, even though she didn't truly belong. She didn't question, she obeyed, strolling through the sewage, which seemed to become shallower as they approached their goal.
"Logical. An uneducated criminal would probably prefer to areas where the river is shallower. However, it should become deeper as one nears an exit."
After all, there were presumably more inlets than outlets...unless they wanted to break through an inlet. She didn't really know.
Instead her mind turned to other things. She already had surrendered her autonomy to the Fifth seat, so devising a plan was not something she dwelled on. Instead, it turned to something more mundane.
Her working for the Fourth Division was controversial enough whilst she was doing work within her remit with them. But now...this event was clearly within the jurisdiction of the Fourth Division. Under one interpretation, she had broken the fourth law. But how valid was this interpretation?
On the other hand, it was an emergency situation, and she had been ordered to follow by Aoyama-san.
Regardless, she was sure at least that if she was punished, it would be to enforce a blanket ban, not because her actions were intrinsically bad. A way to maintain discipline, so not as to set a lax precedent.
And she was OK with that, she was OK with being a fall guy.
For the good of the Gotei...

She kinda heard familiar voices around her when shes done counting. "Ryōichi-kun, Kabelja-san is anyone there?" she whispers quietly as she started to sing while trying not to cough to breath. Dam immune system acting up again. She thought as she see torches and familiar people she try to get up but couldn't and laugh abit. She still sitting while trying to get back up with a help from her Zanpakutō. As she walks towards them with odd look on her face. "Well about bloody time you two get here was getting bored of waiting" She said quietly in a slightly angry British tune of her voice while walking closer towards them but her feet made her lose her balance and fell on top of Kabelja.

There were not many thoughts running through the Fifth Seat's head as they started to near the source of the sound, which was now emanating slow, but loud, thudding noises (as if trying to break through something). They were most likely trying to escape to the surface. This was not attributed to Aoyama having sub-par cerebral capacity, but rather a state of mind that all experienced members of the Fourth Division (and probably Fifth Division as well) had eventually adopted - focus. Once nearing battle, it was best to not trouble your mind with anything other than the blade of your enemy. A moment's worth of distraction could mean death for you, your allies, or worse yet - both. As such, he always found himself subcosciously filtering out excess thoughts. For example, how would he explain this to the Soutaichou? Where was Kajimoni Shandina? What would he say to the families of his fallen comrades?
Those, and other things besides them, were irrelevant to the current situation. The escapees had already committed murder in cold blood, and in rapid succession at that. They would most likely have to use lethal or crippling force (at best), in order to ensure they suffered no further casualties. Yes, for all his adherence to the rules and to his duty of apprehending criminals, the Shinigami had a strong sense of camaraderie that caused him to place the lifes of his fellow fighters high - and in this case, higher than the lives of their targets. That was why he made it perfectly clear that they were allowed to use lethal force if their lives were at stake.
Briefly, just before they would get within the 'dead-zone' (as some liked to call it) he briefly turned around to glance at his hastily made-up squad; his fellow Fourth Divisioneers seemed ready, focused, their minds cleared. They were ready. However, Kabelja seemed a little troubled, under her icy exterior. Had it been anyone else, they may not have noticed it, and perhaps it was mere chance (or perhaps fate) that even Aoyama did.
"Forget about it for now. Whatever concerns you, forget about it. Now we fight, so focus on surviving." he said, voice cool and seemingly indifferent, but with a carefully hidden undetone of concern. He was not certain of how experienced of a fighter this First Divisioneer, but she didn't seem like someone who would leap before looking. If she allowed herself to be here, then she should have no problems.
It was not long after that that another stroke of luck -fortune perhaps showing some pity due to their current circumstances- that they came across Kajimoni Shandina, the Sixth Seat. If he was an expressionate individual, Ryōichi might have reflexively hugged her out of relief but, as he was not, he did not. Brushing off her complaints and putting his own aside, he would reply with the following words,
"If you are in any condition to fight, come with us. They are near."

The Escapees~ They were indeed close to the two convicts, roughly sixty-seven meters away to be precise. Mind you with the way sound traveled in an enclosed space, albeit one which was basically a maze, they would seem much closer, or perhaps further depending on which route they decided to turn. For sure enough they would soon come to a cross roads. They could go back the way they came, see if they overlooked something which would indeed lead them down the right path. Or, turn right which would lead around a small curved turn and possibly the location of those they sought after. Likewise, they could go left which was a deep incline leading to a far deeper pool of the remnants of the sewer (yes that would be shit) , or directly ahead which would fork left a little and then upward into a dead end in which our two men, one being far more burly may yet reside. The choice of course was their's, but choose quickly they should or the convicts may yet flee and win this day. All of this was running through the large man's head in the voice of Morgan Freeman as he played it out, little did he know who this Morgan Freeman character was but the paths in which the wayward group of hunters had to choose were one hundred percent accurate. It mattered little to him which they chose as he bashed poor Douglas relentlessly against the ceiling. All the while, little Jinri was watching with glee. His large friend was making excellent progress! Another hour or so of this and they'd be through! Oh how it excited him so! As was clearly evident by the happy dance he was preforming for himself. A wiggle of the hips, a shake a lak'n of the booty and a thrusting of the hips all while shaking his hands in the air like he just did not care.

She caught the sixth seat as Shandina fell upon her frame, though the act forced her to discard the torch, the beacon dropping onto the floor.
"Aoyama-san, I don't believe Sixth Seat Kajimoni-san is any condition to fight. I have no medical expertise, but I believe she should be extracted immediately, though I believe it improbable she can do so unaided. I can also butterfly back giving our current position. You are in command, sir."
Her words were hushed, so as not to alert their foes, who were evidentially near. A fight was soon to break out, and Aoyama had to sacrifice a man to escort his junior out. That, or possibly sacrifice the life of his junior...

Shandina got up from Kabelja and sit on the floor while moves her head up to see Aoyama. Later she pulled herself up to her feet dust herself off while took a deep breath to clam herself.
"Kabelja-san I predicate the concern of my well being but I'm perfectly fine, capable to do my job, and help aid you and Aoyama-kun. I been through worse in my life time so other then that I'm just fine. I thank you for consecration."
Her words slightly uncalled for but she trying not to be loud to alert the foes near by as well as she wants to be useful and not useless to her comrades while her hands are on her zanpakutō handle and the sheath. As she started to walk abit she heard something but not sure what it is.
Am I hearing something breaking.
She thought as her hand on her chin instead of her zanpakutō thinking of something isn't right now.

He had to think about this quick, they could not risk wasting their sudden stroke of luck by sitting in place for too long. So, with whom would he side? On one hand was Kabelja Watson, a most surely capable seated member of the First Division with a good head on her shoulders. On the other hand, there was Kajimoni Shandina, someone whom he knows for centuries, and another seated officer from the Fourth Division, his own Division, which specialized in armed combat against fellow people and apprehending criminals. To be frank, many would say that the decision was not a tough one.
"Kajimoni-san, as a 6th Seat of the Fourth Division, I trust that you are capable of recognizing your own limits and not endangering you life, as well as those of your teammates, out of foolish pride." he said in a hushed, flat tone. Effectively, he was allowing her to stay and help with the attempt at arrest -or termination- of the subjects in question. However, this also implied one more thing; that if, by any case, Kajimoni was in no condition to fight and turned out to be a liability, her punishment would be most severe. In case they didn't all die of course, but he was fairly confident that things would not come down to that.
As the woman said she was fine, he would not order her to take care of her wounds on the spot. Such a thing would use up far too much of their time, and leaving her behind would completely defeat the purpose. Plus this environment was anything but sanitary, most assuredly not the right place to apply ointment or wrap bandages around a wound. He made a quick mental note to ask her to go to the Second Division after this, to get any possible wounds disinfected. Lord knows what unholy strains of bacteria lie in this forsaken place.
With a swift nod and a short hand-gesture, he would motion the group to follow him. Judging from the thickness of the tunnels, three people should be capable of standing next to each other, shoulder to shoulder. Of course, he would not allow that, as it would prevent them from moving properly. Not that he had to of course, everyone had enough common sense to make sure there was room between them for a quick dodge. He would decide on the path that led closer to the surface, which seemed to be the one in the center. They were close, that much he could tell from the sound but, at this point, it was a gamble. Aside from their hearing, the only reasoning was that the criminals would move closer to the surface so that they may punch the hole quicklier.
