"It is an honour to make your acquaintance, Janus Valek."
Kabelja bowed low before the noble spirit elephant, him decked out in fine robes of pale orange, herself manifested in a dress of bold scarlet.
"As it is yours, Kabelja Watson, but please, my true name is Janus Phendrana Valek." He met her bow.
"My apologies, Janus Phendrana Valek."
"You are forgiven. I take no insult from your words at this time." He rose up, then gestured to the table behind him.
"But where are my manners? May I offer you tea?"
"That would be most appreciated."
Janus wandered over to the table, already set out, and pulled out a chair, offering it to Kabelja. She duly followed his footsteps to the table. There the lass sat down on a soft chair, being joined shortly after by her host, who poured her a cup, and them himself. She thanked him for his kindness, then took a sip. He did the same.
"It is curious, how many of my brethren are not cordial with their masters."
"It is curious, yes. We are partners. Is it not better that we work together as one? Though, may I say, I am most pleased that we are developing a most amicable relationship."
"This is most pleasing. I know that my fellow Zanpakutō challenge their wielders before revealing their name to them, but this is pointless. Your safety is my duty. Why would I withhold my power? You have much Reiatsu within you. Though if I may offer a critique, you do not have much control over it."
"You speak the truth, Janus Phendrana Valek. I assure you, I intend to improve control over my abilities. Though I am afraid that my time has been taken up by work."
"Indeed. Although organisation is important, do not forget that your job has great value. And I can see your sincerity in your pursuit, for you would not be here otherwise. Meditation brings the spirit and the flesh together."
"You speak wisely, noble spirit."
"I am most honoured by your words, though forgive me for saying so, but our ways of thinking are in tune."
Kabelja bowed again, sipping the tea, letting the hot liquid flow inside her body.
"Alas, I fear that conversation has run dry. I respect that you are not one for idle talk, so I believe we shall part ways for now."
"Thank-you immensely for your hospitality, Janus Phendrana Valek. You have been most kind."
"The pleasure is all mine, Kabelja Watson. Please, if you need anything, feel free to visit. Your company is always welcome. But remember, I have given you my true name, and thus my true power. I suggest you become familiar with it before it becomes necessary."
Kabelja, having finished her tea, rose from her seat and bowed once again towards her guest.
"Thank-you, Janus Phendrana Valek. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Kabelja Watson."
Kabelja opened her eyes and raised her head as she came out of Jinzen. She was sat alone in her house in her uniform, her blade resting on her lap.
