How much power and independence do the Noble Houses have? Enough to run their lands in their own way, but limited to the sense where they're still to obey the King's Law.

So basically, any non-Touched have the potential to become Naturals? Theoretically speaking. Also, a thing that popped up in my mind about Eiphyre weapons. An Eiphyre weapon will bond with a single person, and anyone besides that individual and the 'magical blacksmith' who made it will find it too heavy for use. And non-magical. But, what if the blade is melted down? Is it impossible to melt/destroy an Eiphyre weapon after it has been forged? Or is the blacksmith who made it the only one capable of accomplishing such a feat? If it can be melted down, if the metal is reused to forge a new weapon then will that weapon obey a new master, or will the material retain the 'memory' of its previous wielder? And if the 'recycled' Eiphyre weapons remain loyal to the users of their 'previous lives' then what if you combine the metal of more than one weapon to make several? Point is, the users of the Eiphyre weapons will eventually die - whether from sword, sickness or age. If it is impossible to re-use the material of the weapon then effectively that means that Eiphyre weapons will have an 'expiration date' - and eventually, all of them will become useless as Eiphyre comes in limited supply. While our RP days won't last long enough for this to come into play, I am curious. It isn't impossible for Eiphyre weapons to be destroyed or reshaped, however once the element binds itself to someone it cannot be reused by another. We're actually working that into the overall history and why it is such a rarity among the populace(why basically no one will have more than one Eiphyre weapon and why npcs outside of our own won't have said weapons) because eventually it will run out, something I was basing on reality. As I explained on the broadcast (which I again implore you all to listen to if you haven't already) your weapons will need maintained, serviced and so on. For they will crack and break, need sharpened, etc.. etc.. And while your point about those weapons eventually becoming useless is a likely hood, that wouldn't stop any army in our real life history or this fictional one from using said weapons. I hope that answers yer questions. Alright, so after a bit of debate we've decided that if there is a blood connection, like going from father to son etc.. Eiphyre weapon can be used to some extent from the new user. This'll allow members to register for custom items made from Eiphyre but they have been 'corrupted' by another metal in so they cannot harness power the same way your own typically would, ie directly. If you have a weapon that could be used in sync with this reforged item or weapon, it'll allow you to transfer your powers into it, but you cannot channel your power through it on it's own.

Was just thinking. Mal, you mentioned about maintaining weapons and gear. Does this mean that the new system is going to have a greater emphasis on numbers?

It's mainly the Eiphyre weapons right now and even though it's been brought up we don't actually have anything detailing it as of such actually written up for it atm. It'll more likely just be a bit where a staff member will either hop into a thread pm you to inform you that your weapon is looking worse for wear and needs some tlc.
