Here you will find a brief abstract of Akatokiyami, which explains the site's mechanics and offers links to the more important areas of the forum for a new member, including Character Information, Rules and Guidelines, and the lovely Game Corner. After reading the thread, feel free to introduce yourself!

Welcome to Akatokiyami – Threnody! We are very pleased to have you!

Before you get started, here's an orientation and a map to get you better acquainted with our lovely layout provided to us by one of the lovely [ladies] over at [Adoxography].

First thing you should do, if you haven't done it already, is drag your mouse over that big banner right on top – it has a ton of information hidden over the top! Crazy! There are quick little news updates in the top two banners with the fancy pink exclamation points (one with the most important site-wide update and the other one with the most current contests), then right next to that is the blurb about our site, but next to that, if you put your mouse on one of those other pictures right under where it says staff, you'll get to not only find out their names, but you can also click on their picture to be transferred to their profiles for immediate action, should you find yourself needing it.

The three pictures above the Staff pictures are where we showcase the members who've done an outstanding job, either on the site or with their characters and role-playing. You can find more information about that in the [Rewards and Bonuses] page.

To the left of that are eight green bars that contain links to important areas of the site, such as the site [Directory], a listing of the [Member Database] so you can slowly figure out who's who, a [Question and Answer] thread, and also a link to the site's [Announcements]. Finally, there is also a link to the most-recent threads page and a direct line to zoi.

At the very top of the page is a teal bar that functions as the site's menu bar – this will stay and scroll down the webpage as you do so you can always bring yourself back to the home screen. The Navigation bar is directly below the top banner, and it will also take you back to the home page; the window with all the threads you've participated in is also linked in here on the very left.

The main skeleton of the board is pretty self-explanatory, just rearranged differently from the default Proboards layout. You have the General Board, which houses the News and all OOC content on the site; below that, is the Information Board, which houses all the [Character information], as well as Rules and Guidelines] for the site as a whole, and the [Plot and Setting] thread; and finally, there's the main heart of the site, all the Roleplay boards.

Right now, there's only the one board, but as things pick up and get more active, more boards will be opened up to spread the RP all over the Country of Akatokiyami, instead of just in the capital city. The city board is full of subboards, which will allow those looking for RP in a very specific place to do so, while also having a Public area for those who prefer long, drawn out threads spanning all the boards, but don't want to stop and start over and over again.

Below the boards is the Chatbox, where all our members communicate and hang out while they're not posting. If that's too small, there's also a link in the Directory] to the cbox's page.

In addition to the Main hover panel, there is also a hover panel in each member's miniprofile, located to the left of their posts. In it are some very important things, such as the character's age, gender, rank or title, links to the member's database profile (so you know who's who) and their own choice of link, and the name that they call themselves most of the time – this is so everyone can slowly figure out which character belongs to who! To find out, just place your cursor over their avatar.
