[FINAL FANTASY (XIV) - TIMEFRAME]
Long ago, a tale of a promised land fell under severance, divided by differential worships and prayer. Zodiark, the original summoned primal of the land, was revered by those of the prosperous city as a deity, a savior. Heretics and disputers shunned the beacon of darkness, and through prayer and worship an opposing primal was summoned: Hydaelyn.
Conflicting ideals aggravated collision, Zodiark and Hydaelyn clashing in numerous altercations, splitting the realm into several fragments and reflections - 13, to be exact. In the final showdown, Zodiark was vanquished, locked and sealed away.
The original Hydaelyn that was once primal was also a vessel of life — a planet that teemed with aether, the Source! Truthfully, the planet shared the same name with its goddess primal predecessor and Mothercrystal. The mothercrystal was cherished among many, but one particular cult despised the lightness: the Ascians.
In the annals of unfamiliar history, Ascians secured their “promised land” lore through teaching, passing down belief from member to member. Reality, as it were, revealed that they sought a rejoining — a cataclysmic reawakening of their long-yearned deity Zodiark. The rejoining, in their records, would bring about the civilization in the past where unity, peace and stability would prosper in both light and dark; but at a devastating cost. In order for success, it was believed that Umbral Calamities would allow a flooding of a specific element in one reflection (of the 13), causing the source to absorb that specific reflection — granting them one step closer to the rejoining.
Many of the population know of stories regarding the Ascians, but certainly not the true intentions or purpose of their desires — but generally people would assume they have ill-will on existence itself in the source.
Hydaelyn - as if to make preparations for the incoming grand scheme of rejoining - bestowed several beings with crystals of light. These beings would serve as her champions, her warriors of light. In fact, many of them have yet to realize the impact they’ll have on saving their world as they know it...
Currently, many of the “nations” are in dispute with the Garlean Empire; battles of conquest scattering throughout the realm. Many believe the Garleans are even harboring the Ascians. Talks of calamity-inducing machines threaten the planet’s very existence, even some biological warfare in the form of disease and pestilence.
Hydaelyn will soon call upon her champions to fight for the realm, to restore the balance she worked so hard to procure by locking away Zodiark and preventing the Ascians from planetary destruction.
In the upcoming throes of conflict, will our champions prove successful and save the realm? Or will the Ascians triumph and the world perish?
