There was much to do it seemed for the fukutaicho of the fifth division, First he had to clear up his desk space only to find out the soutaicho wanted to see him personality. That said he had kept the man waiting for a short while as he wanted to tie some small business in his own division before running off to the first. He had to do most of the work anymore in this division as his taicho he had not seen around for a little bit. Perhap's she was on one of those long mission's she enjoyed doing. He rubbed his chin as he started to put the paper work away.
Once he was finished he quickly grabbed his sword and placed his sword on his left hip just for good measure. With that he was off to the first division, making sure of course his body oil was on so he smelt like a patch of over grown vanilla and his skin was super shiny. Couldn't help but notice the tall man who smelled like a vanilla bean. He was in his normal shinigami uniform, pants and a long white jacket.
It took a good amount of time to get to the first division once he got there he made his way to the soutaicho's office only to be stopped by a door lady as you may call her. "I'm here to see Tanaka-Soutaicho-sama. I'm a little late but a hell butterfly came by the other day."

The little old lady glared up at the giant of a man, the sunlight shooting into the room from the windows caught upon his oiled skin and caused it to glare into her beady little eyes, she muttered a curse under her breath and averted her eyes from the man. "He's in his office, third floor first door on the left.
"Be careful with it, some block head kicked it down a short time ago and we've not yet had anyone proper to come fix it. Soutaicho-sama is still a bit touchy bout it." She then flicked her thumb over her shoulder to the dual staircase and went back to doing whatever it was she was doing.
He had been released, or escaped depending on your point of view, from the Second Division's recovery wing just the day before. His hands, while out of any real danger, stung and ached whenever he flexed them. But he did so anyways. He would not allow such an injury to keep him from doing his duties, nor would he allow them to hinder him in anyway. His hands, were scarred, marked for the rest of his days. When he had first looked upon them the sight of his hands sickened him, and did cause him to bring up what little he had in his stomach.
He could still taste the bile in the back of his throat.
He turned his gaze upward, back out his window. He had failed this city. His messages were not dispatched quick enough and it had cost people their lives, and caused others to leave. These scars were a reminder to him of that. It would never happen again. Never again.

The old lady sighed. She was somewhat grateful that Fukutaichou Techimaru hadn't offered to shake her hand. She didn't want that oil upon her.
"Why do so many Shinigami insist on showing their skin?" Her thoughts went to her Fukutaichou and her Sixth Seat. "Though, their...distinctive appearances are of some benefit for identification. Though Fukutaichou Shinku has her armband, and Sixth Seat Yakanami her clan markings. Their lack of attire is unnecessary."
Kabelja busied herself with papers, pulling out the appropriate form, a quill pen sketching ink upon the parchment, logging Fifth Fukutaichou Techimaru's request (she had identified him from his uniform) and filing it away.
"I should deliver the appropriate paperwork to the Taichou."
Kabelja rose from the wooden chair that had occupied her existence that morning, taking a substantial pile of papers from her drawer. It had grown a little in the past four decades. Bureaucracy tends only to grow, after all.
The infamous ice queen of the first division followed the path that the Fukutaichou had just tread, a bundle of papers under her arm, marching off at a brisk trot. If she didn't know the way, she could have followed the scent of vanilla.

Just how self centered Taisho could be he at first thought the old lady was so amazed at his very worked out body she had to turn her gaze away from him slightly. A second later he truly noticed the glare off his good looking chest most of been bothering the poor ladies eyes. With a slight nod to the old lady he went on his way towards the soutaicho's office, the thing really was bothering him about this division..was stairs. Why in god's name would someone put so many stairs in a building.
After a short moment climbing the stairs and making his way to the broken like door. He looked at it for a moment, Takening it in hand and moving it to the side. Placing it so it wouldn't yet again fall apart or worse fully break he looked at it. He would have to send over some of his divison member's to fix this door. Couldn't have people just walk into the commander's office. That would be rude, knocking softly on the door frame he walked into the office.
Noticing the soutaicho standing there he bowed slightly to the man. Clearing his throat and taking a small breath. "Tanaka-Soutaicho. You have asked to see me?" Oddly enough the man was out of words he wasn't really sure what to say to his higher up ranked office. He some what looked up to the man, so he was truly speechless of speaking to him in this manner.

The knock at his door brought him out of the daze of regret, he turned neck and allowed his eyes to move over his shoulder to see the hulk standing in his doorway. Taisho, I wonder how often he has come to see me and not find me here, as I lie recovering in a sick ward.. He turned around, watching the man bow as he hid his damaged hands behind his back. He smiled a bit and nodded a bow back to him. "Thank you for coming, please sit."
The Tanaka would do the same, slipping into his comfy chair, his hands hidden beneath his desk. Once comfortable he would give Taisho another smile, a small sad one before adopting his serious face again. Void of anything, a statue. He had to be a statue, a hard place.. A rock. For his people. He cleared his throat and gestured his a nod of his head toward the tray which was holding a pitcher of water, with ice and two goblets. "Please, help yourself if you're thirsty. I also have something a little stronger if you feel the need to after what I have to tell you.
"Tachibana-Taicho... Ume, has stepped down from her spot as Taicho of the Fifth. You know what that means, right Taisho?" This had never really happened before in the Gotei. Other Captains had been defeated for their roles or killed, but never before had one stepped down... Or deserted. He would dwell on the latter later. Though, in case of such an instance there were protocols to follow. And Taisho's day had come.
Was he ready? Only time would tell.

The lady walked briskly through the corridors, moving effortlessly and efficiently through any movement of people. The Gotei as a whole had become significantly busier following the recent assault. Even though the day was bright, some segments of the building lay in shadow, for swarms of Hell Butterflies blotted out the sun in those parts.
Kabelja kept up her trot, her immaculate uniform gliding with her through the halls. She reached the door that Fukutaichou Techimaru had passed through on his way there. Indeed, being familiar with the building, she had taken a shorter, though more complex path up to the office. For her, the Soutaichou's office was not the first on the left, but rather the last on the right. As such, she had seen the Fukutaichou enter the office.
The door, thankfully, appeared to be in no worse state after he had passed through it. "It appears that, despite his build, Fukutaichou Techimaru doesn't have the same penchant for breaking through things that Shuchiku-san does."
She gave a sharp knock upon the door.
"Soutaichou, I apologise profusely for the disturbance, but I was wondering if I would be required to take record of this meeting"

Taisho followed Malik's lead and took a seat across from Malik him self, looking at the water for a moment about to say no thank you, Malik began to speak about why he was here today. Hearing that his taicho had stepped down from her spot leaving the division gave Taisho a deep pain of sadness in him. He let out a low breath trying to keep his emotions in check. He loved Tachibana-taicho she truly did mean a lot to the young fukutaicho.
Hearing another member of the first division he guessed enter the office he turned his head and nodded a greeting to the lady he turned back to face Malik. He truly new what this meant, in the law and order's of the shinigami it would fall onto him to become the new Taicho of the fifth division. Meaning he truly was the role model and leader of that division. A lot of job's feel into his lap no, smirking slightly he nodded towards his soutaicho.
"It mean's that with Tachibana Umie-dono stepping down bring's my self into the spot of Taicho as I'm the fukutaicho. It would be a great honor to hold this rank Tanaka-Soutaicho." Not that sure what to say after he allowed him self to smile softly. This would mean he would gain the fifth division taicho jacket and loose this annoying badge what destroyed his tanned skin. He leaned back in his chair not to sure what this young lady was here. Yes it was important to record stuff, but wasn't she a little late?

His gaze shifted to that of the woman, Kabelja. His gaze fixed on her for a moment and was about to leave her until she began to speak. A recording? He thought on it for the second or two and nodded. It was only logical, this was the first time a promotion to this rank had come across this way, there would need to be some kind of formal record he supposed. "Take a seat Kabelja-san. There is no need to make a record of our conversation as a whole, just what is necessary to the event taking place, understood?"
He then moved back to the task at hand. His eyes moved back to Taisho as he spoke, understanding filling his expression and eyes. Taisho had a deep bond with his mentor, this he could see plainly. While he was doing a good job of keeping his body language in check, his voice from cracking, he could see the hurt in his eyes. Taisho misunderstood him to some degree, it would seem. "She did not leave the Gotei, Taisho-san." His voice was still cold, without feeling but the words were emant to be some sort of comfort. "She has merely stepped out of the haori, for reasons which shall not leave this room." His glance fell upon Kabelja for a moment before he turned it back upon the hulking man before him. "She has resigned due to her failures to maintain the duty your Division is tasked with, the protection of the Rukongai districts. She became lax in her duties and as such, as did the rest of your division.
"The fault was not her's alone, but she bore the brunt of it and decided to step aside to allow another set of hands to take a hold of the reigns. I have asked her to remain in the division, to mentor you during your transition period. What happens from there is up to you and you alone. Learn from her mistakes and up hold the foundations the Gotei was built upon.
"If you falter, I will know." His eyes narrowed then, the first sign of emotion since Kabelja entered his office. It was a glare, not a threat of malice.. But a promise that was about to leave his lips. "And you will face the consequences of those mistakes." The glare left his face as it turned back to stone, thoughts of his own recent failure dwelling upon him. He too would be living with those consequences for the rest of his life. They would haunt him, steal hours of his sleep..
He shook off such thoughts.
"Do you truly understand what it is I am telling you, nay asking you to do, Techimaru-Fukutaicho?"

The lady nodded and positioned herself at the side of the Soutaichou's desk, out of the glare of both the sun and any reflection of it upon Fukutaichou Techimaru. Truth be told, she didn't understand what he meant initially, until Soutaichou Malik spoke of reasons not to leave this room. "It appears I am to keep to what is required to be on the record."
Despite this, she scribbled down everything that came from the Soutaichou's lips. These would just be notes, and not part of the official record. So far, it would appear that only that Taichiou Tachibana had resigned, the position had been offered to Fukutaichou Techimaru and that Taichou Tachibana had agreed to mentor whoever was to take her position during the transition phase. That was logical. Words of failings and threats would not make it into the record.

Taisho never once lost sight of Malik's eyes as he spoke to him, hearing of the duties he would have and if he failed bad things would happen. He nodded towards the soutaicho, his eyes would slightly turn to look at the female in the room. He wasn't to sure what she was all writing and it made him slightly on edge having to speak in front of her some what. The feeling was slowly going away as he began to breath a little slower thinking over the words floating in his head how to answer his soutaicho.
"I understand Tanaka-Soutaicho-sama. I shall not fail were Tachibana-taicho has, I'll make the fifth division back how it should be. I'll promise you that, I have noticed my self the division has failed in many way's and I have the power to really change that know with becoming the new Taicho of the division. I Thank you for this honor."
To be truth full Taisho never dreamed in a million year's he would be given the chance to run the fifth division He was more the happy to be under Tachibana Ume. Over those few hundred years he had learned a lot about the division and it was good time for him to make his division a far better known of what they do. He looked over at the 9th seat and smiled at her turned back to Malik he took one of the goblets and poured some water into it, quickly taking a sip from it. Malik was right something much stronger was needed. This would mean he would need a new jacket. One with the fifth division mark on it, Hopefully he wouldn't get Ume's jackets. There was no way he would fit into them..she is so small.

"Good man." He responded with a curt nod before leaning to his left side to open the bottom drawer of his desk, the largest of any other. Once opened he reached inside it and withdrew a parcel wrapped in wax paper, he placed it upon his desk before him, allowing the two their to be the first outside of the medical wing to see his burn scars upon his hands. Deftly, he untied the ties keeping the item with bound and folded back the paper to reveal what lie inside.
Taisho's new Haori.
"I knew Ume's would not do you, the size difference between you would make her's nothing more than and a torn up vest by the time you put it on, so I had this made for you. Please, edit it accordingly if you so wish, as this is the standard regulation haori minus the sleeves. I don't think there is enough fabric in the world to make one's wide enough for those trunks you call arms." He shot Taisho an amused glance, the stone expression withering away before he stood, lifting the white fabric to the sitting hulk.
"Try it on, see how it feels."

So, Fukutaichou Techimaru was now Taichou Techimaru. A flurry of activity erupted from Kabelja's position. His acceptance meant that now the paperwork could be filled in, and a promotion to Taichou held quite a bit of paperwork. It was a good thing that they had developed papers which copied themselves to the sheet below. That meant they could be filled in en triplicate with only one stroke of a pen. Documentation of declaration, swearing of oaths, changes in pay scales, statement of ethics (a document particularly long for the Fifth Division, as their duties dealt directly with the citizens of the Rukongai).... Kabelja was going through the uniform requisition form when the Soutaichou presented the newly appointed Taichou with a Haori. " I suppose that shan't be required then." She pushed that form off to the side, then rose from her seat and bowed towards the two gentlemen " Congratulations, Taichou Techimaru on your promotion. Now, I have some paperwork that I need you both to read and sign. For your convenience, I have already filled them in for you." The lady of regulation split her papers in two, sliding the relevant documents across the table to each. To Soutaichou Malik she presented the following:
Declaration of Promotion

Signed:

To Taichou Techimaru she presented the following:
Declaration of Duty as TaichouI, Taichou Techimaru, of the Fifth Division, hereby affirm to uphold the roles and responsibilities of my division, to not bring the Gotei into disrepute by my action or inaction, to be held ultimately responsible for the conduct and performance of my division, to keep to all rules and regulations of the Gotei for the benefit of my division, the Gotei and the Rukongai and to ensure the welfare of all Shinigami under my command with full knowledge of the penalties and consequences if I fail to adhere to my duties.Signed: Year: 2001nw
Addendum to the Declaration of Duty as Taichou as Pertaining to the Additional Duties Associated with the Fifth Division of the GoteiI, Taichou Techimaru, as Captain of the Fifth Division, devote my life to the upholding of the Shinigami-Rukon Citizen Security and Trade Agreement of 1000nw, to fulfil all the clauses within, to protect the citizens of the Rukongai from Hollow, to eradicate Hollow whenever they are found, to do so in an ethical manner, as laid down in relevant documentation, to ensure the same conduct of all Shinigami when in the Rukongai and to take the appropriate action when such standards are not met, for the peace and prosperity of both our people.Signed:_______________Year: 2001nw
With that, Kabelja gave another bow and returned to her seat, continuing to write down the minutes of the meeting.

Taisho looked over at Malik as he began to pull something out of desk to see him pulling out a new Haori for him self, he some what chuckled hearing Malik talk about his size difference of Ume. It was really true, he was a brute standing beside her little self. Taking the Jacket from the soutaicho he quickly stood up and slipped off the jacket he had on allowing his manly ness to shine threw out the office. He put on the new jacket with honor and grace. Moving his shoulders a little he looked at the Haori for a moment. It was a perfect fit. He did like that there was no sleeves. They always got in the way while he was bashing thing's faces in. Though the comment about the thunks for arms Taisho did not enjoy hearing but noticed the joking face Malik was showing.
With all this going on he did however notice the scar's on the soutaicho's hands. Not one to ask questions he figured out theat must of happened in the battle not to long ago. So asking how it happened was no big deal. Smiling towards the other shinigami in the room he bowed his head to the young lady as he took his seat. As he watched the papers land in front of him. Reading over each one with great detail he understood what he was going into so. He reached for the ink and a quill and began to sign each paper he was handed giving his word what he would pretty much be looking after and what his job was.
"This is truly a great Honor Soutaicho-Tanaka. I shall work very hard to make the fifth division back to what it was when you formed the Gotei five."
He slowly stood up picking up the papers and handing them back to the young lady. He then turned back to Malik smiling and bowing his head a little. "If that is all, I would like to return to the fifth division to get back to work. There is much to do." He turned his eye back to the young lady making sure he bowed his head to her once again. He really didn't thank her for her kind words. Then again Taisho was some what in shock still and trying to figure out what he was going to do with all this. He under stood it, it was just doing it and making his division strong again.

He simply shook his head and chuckled as the paper work was slipped his way. Can't even wait for the words to leave my mouth, can ya? Taking up his quill and ink, Malik looked under his brow at the ever efficient underling and nodded his thanks, this would avoid him having to create the paper work himself. A bonus to be sure. His gaze turned back to the papers before him and his quill found ink.
It was slow for him, this signing of papers. He had to be sure his signature was still recognizable as his and not some child's fumbling about. He took his time, making sure each character was written just so. As such, on every form he signed his name and rank was written clearly.
田中族長 キャプテン指揮者
Tanaka Malik Soutaicho
He paused when he reached the paper meant for Kiba's eyes and paused.. His quill floated back to it's resting place before he folded that paper in half ad slipped it within the folds of his haori. This one will have to wait until I know exactly what is going on.. Looking back to the redhead in the room, Malik smiled. "Excellent work, Watson-san. Make sure the ones that need to be filed are filed and that the rest are sent upon their way to the proper divisions." He slipped her the papers he had signed. "I'll also want to read what you've been scribbling before you go.
"Techimaru-Fukutaicho..." His gaze turned serious again as he stood from his seat. His eyes looked him over, nodding his approval at the fit of his haori."Wear that proud, son. It's not just a piece of clothing, it's a symbol. Treat it as such and never forget what you are.
"Congratulations, Taicho." He offered the man a hand, to shake of course. "And yes, of course. There is much to do. Inform your ranks. I'll be calling upon you soon, the Council has much to discuss. Dismissed, Techimaru-Taicho, dismissed."

Kabelja received the papers, and checked that everything was in order. "Aside from the letter to the Fourth Division, everything seems to be present and correct." She had observed her Soutaichou remove one of the papers, thus she wasn't too concerned, he had his reasons.
The lady then proceeded to remove the bottom copy from each set of papers the newly promoted one had just signed, then rose to her feet. "Taichou Techimaru," she said, bowing towards him, "please keep this as your personal copy." She handed him the relevant papers, then turned to her own Taichou, the Soutaichou, bowing again before.
"I must apologise profusely, Soutaichou Tanaka, however contrary to your instructions I have made a full transcript. I intend to take it down to the essentials after the meeting, and then properly destroy the transcript. And of course, I will file and distribute the appropriate files accordingly. If you desire, Soutaichou, you may still see the transcript before the official draft minutes are written up. I will of course need both yourself and Taichou Techimaru to sign off on them before they become the official minutes."
Hopefully she wouldn't be punished for this transgression. For her, it was only efficient to preform the write-up afterwards. An off-hand comment may be important later, if a future statement gave it context.

Taisho brought out his hand and shook Malik's hand nodding towards the man. He slowly let go of the mans hand and turned to the young lady taking the form. "I should be going. I shall wear this with great honor Tanaka-soutaicho. I shall await your call for the meeting Soutaicho-sama." He bowed once again towards the soutaicho and turned around and began to head out of the office. Once he got to the door way he smiled and looked at the door a little more, He turned his body slightly and looked back at Malik. He pointed at the door and smiled softly.
"I'll send someone over from my division right away and get this door fixed for you Soutaicho"
With that he turned back and began on his marry way back towards his divsion, He looked over at his arm and noticed he was wearing the badge still for the fifth division, He removed it and began to go back on his way.

He chuckled and thanked Taisho as he left and then turned his attention back to Kabelja. His expression turning hard again. "That was not a request, Officer Kabelja . That was an order." He gestured with a pair of fingers for her to come closer and to give him the papers. "Now would be better than later. "As I said to Techimaru-Taicho, I have much to do." Short post is short

Kabelja reached over, and pulled out the relevant paper. The transcript of everything that had been said, word for word. The writing was perfectly legibile and robotic, without flair as per her nature. Every stroke was designed to be perfectly readable, yet quick and simple to write.
Transcript of meeting between Soutaichou Malik and Fukutaichou Techimaru.

I) Taichou Techimaru, please keep this as your personal copy. I must apologise profusely, Soutaichou Tanaka, however contrary to your instructions I have made a full transcript. I intend to take it down to the essentials after the meeting, and then properly destroy the transcript. And of course, I will file and distribute the appropriate files accordingly. If you desire, Soutaichou, you may still see the transcript before the official draft minutes are written up. I will of course need both yourself and Taichou Techimaru to sign off on them before they become the official minutes.
-receipt given-
5) I should be going. I shall wear this with great honor Tanaka-soutaicho. I shall await your call for the meeting Soutaicho-sama. I'll send someone over from my division right away and get this door fixed for you Soutaicho
-Taichou Techimaru left-
She stood there, awaiting the return of her document so she could write up the official record. Like the Soutaichou, she also had much to do, to ensure all this paperwork was sent off, to obtain paperwork of it being sent off.... Kabelja did keep herself busy.

Running and panting. Panting and running. Huffing and puffing. Panting and huffing.
Zane's frail frame could be seen running from the Rukongai toward the Seireitei and, more specifically, toward the First Division's barracks. He had just told Ryouichi minutes prior that he would take a rain check on the idea for lunch, but that he would buy when the time came for this to happen. He had suddenly recalled that he was to go to the Rukongai, seek out a member to speak with the SouTaichou and report back, but Zane had failed that task.. miserably. Maybe Kanade would succeed where he had failed in this quest, but for now, Zane thought it best to just manage his losses and deal with Malik's wrath now.
He only slowed by fractions as he got to the barracks and only fractions more when he got within the building. He inhaled and exhaled through his nostrils, trying to keep his pace even and get his breathing back on track. It was failing miserably. Zane ceased his running and used his momentum to slid across the floor in an attempt to stop near the staircase, grabbing the banister as he began to climb up. "Why. In. The hell. Does. Tanaka-San. Have. So. Many. Damned. Stairs.", Zane grumbled as he ascended the staircase in quick fashion. He doubled over at the top of the staircase for a moment and moved himself toward the door of Malik's office, knocking rather brashly, "SouTaichou! It's Grinpiers Zane, I need a word with you, Sir."

Taking the paper from her, Malik eyed over it quickly and carefully and frowned mentally. She wasn't kidding was she? He then reached over to his quill, dabbed it in ink and began to strike out things he found unimportant to the issue at hand. "In future Watson-chan, when given an assignment or order be sure to not go over your bounds. I realize you were simply being attentive to your duties, but sometimes doing what was asked of you instead of what you believe is required is the safer of two roads." Blowing upon the fresh ink softly to assist it in it's drying process, he flipped the page over in his hand and returned it to her, returning his quill to it's home. "There we have it. Use everything not crossed out for the official statement."
Transcript of meeting between Soutaichou Malik and Fukutaichou Techimaru.
UNOFFICIAL. TO BE DESTROYED AFTER MINUTES ARE DRAWN UP.
5) It mean's that with Tachibana Umie-dono stepping down bring's my self into the spot of Taicho as I'm the fukutaicho. It would be a great honor to hold this rank Tanaka-Soutaicho.
1) She did not leave the Gotei, Taisho-san. She has merely stepped out of the haori, for reasons which shall not leave this room. She has resigned due to her failures to maintain the duty your Division is tasked with, the protection of the Rukongai districts. She became lax in her duties and as such, as did the rest of your division. The fault was not her's alone, but she bore the brunt of it and decided to step aside to allow another set of hands to take a hold of the reigns. I have asked her to remain in the division, to mentor you during your transition period. What happens from there is up to you and you alone. Learn from her mistakes and up hold the foundations the Gotei was built upon. If you falter, I will know. And you will face the consequences of those mistakes. Do you truly understand what it is I am telling you, nay asking you to do, Techimaru-Fukutaicho?
5) I understand Tanaka-Soutaicho-sama. I shall not fail were Tachibana-taicho has, I'll make the fifth division back how it should be. I'll promise you that, I have noticed my self the division has failed in many way's and I have the power to really change that know with becoming the new Taicho of the division. I Thank you for this honor.
1) Good man.
-Soutaichou Malik presents Taichou Techimaru with a Haori-
1) I knew Ume's would not do you, the size difference between you would make her's nothing more than and a torn up vest by the time you put it on, so I had this made for you. Please, edit it accordingly if you so wish, as this is the standard regulation haori minus the sleeves. I don't think there is enough fabric in the world to make one's wide enough for those trunks you call arms. Try it on, see how it feels.
I) Congratulations, Taichou Techimaru on your promotion. Now, I have some paperwork that I need you both to read and sign. For your convenience, I have already filled them in for you.
-Paperwork dispatched-
-Paperwork signed, all in order, save for no return of the letter to the Fourth Division-
5) This is truly a great Honor Soutaicho-Tanaka. I shall work very hard to make the fifth division back to what it was when you formed the Gotei five. If that is all, I would like to return to the fifth division to get back to work. There is much to do.
1) Excellent work, Watson-san. Make sure the ones that need to be filed are filed and that the rest are sent upon their way to the proper divisions. I'll also want to read what you've been scribbling before you go. Techimaru-Fukutaicho, wear that proud, son. It's not just a piece of clothing, it's a symbol. Treat it as such and never forget what you are. Congratulations, Taicho. And yes, of course. There is much to do. Inform your ranks. I'll be calling upon you soon, the Council has much to discuss. Dismissed, Techimaru-Taicho, dismissed.

His attention came to Zane as the knock was sounded upon his poor, nearly dead door. He winced in hoping it wouldn't fall of it's hinges... It didn't he sighed in relief and waved Zane in. "Enter, what news do you have for me?"

Kabelja took back the papers from her Soutaichou, and looked them over. "Soutaichou Tanaka has not removed anything that I would have left in." If she had emotions, she would be annoyed at the lack of faith her Soutaichou had in her. However, as per usual, she felt nothing.
Then Zane happened.
She recognised him from his mask.
"Tenth Seat Grinpiers," she said in greeting, bowing, before turning back to the Soutaichou. "Do you wish for me to make record of this meeting as well, Soutaichou Tanaka?"
She would hopefully adhere more to his wishes this time.

Zane doubled over as he shut his eyes and tried to recover his breath. It took him several minutes before his stance became erect again and he released a low sigh before entering the office. Once inside he bowed to the two before him, "Nineteenth seat Watson. Soutaichou.", he addressed them both before moving forward to speak with Malik. He made a face, hidden by his mask, and sighed, "I know there should never be excuses made for failure, but given the events that took place within the Rukongai as well as.. a family matter that came up, I have failed personally on the mission you have given me. I know not the status of Fourth Seat Miyamoto as we were separated on our way to the Rukongai..", Zane explained. He bowed again to the man, "I am deeply sorry, Sir, but I failed you."

He addressed Zane carefully, listening to him intently as he spoke, for the moment ignoring the female in the room for the time being. "I see" . And then turned his eyes to the Watson. "No, Watson-chan, you're dismissed.
"In the mean time, Zane, please sit." His hand retreated beneath his desk, folding upon his lap as he regarded the Tenth seat with seemingly dead eyes for a moment. They then regarded the empty, unused glass and the pitcher of water.. As well as the sweat on Zane's brow. He ran here.. "Please, help yourself to a refreshment you look like you could use it.
"And while you do that, you can explain to me in more detail exactly what held you up." He understood family affairs and the chaos that was caused by the attack. But was that an excuse to return to the division grounds without trying his assignment? Only time would tell, Malik would first listen to his story.

The Nineteenth bowed to her Soutaichou, handing him his copy of the paperwork. "I shall see to it that the paperwork is sent to the relevant divisions, and I shall have a first draft of the record in your pigeon hole within 24 hours."
With that the lady gathered her own documents and left, reversing out of the door. She would send off the paperwork to the relevant divisions and then retire to her office, writing up the first draft of the record.

Zane seated himself slowly, his hands reaching out for a glass and the pitcher of water, pouring the water into half of the glass. Zane slid the mask down away from his mouth, letting it rest around his neck as he raised the glass to his lips and sipped down quite a bit of water. Zane then set the glass on the man's desk before him, but slightly to the side so that there would be no obstructing either of their views of one another. Zane then inhaled softly and sighed as he began, "Soon after leaving this office, myself and Fourth Seat Miyamoto departed to the Fifth Division on your order. We then recruited, much to my own dismay, the help of Lieutenant Techimaru and another female, whose name I had not caught. We left for the Rukongai, where I had become separated from the rest of the group and began to wander and regroup until the Hollow attack occurred. I am sure that I can spare details here. I assumed wrong in thinking they'd be there and began to wander again where I met fifth seat Ryouchi Aoyama of the.. I believe he said fourth division? We also encountered my little sister, went on an exploration with her, please don't ask about it and encountered a Rukon who apparently has taken my little sister in as his own. I then realized that I had been gone way too long without finding someone to bring back and came sprinting back to report my failure."

Malik leaned back into his chair and watched Zane as he poured himself a drink and told his tale in quiet, with stone eyes. Sure he blinked every now and then, but his expression blank. When Zane paused, the Soutaicho waited a moment for him to continue, but he did not. Clearly he was finished his story and had nothing more to say on the subject. Now it was his turn to speak.
"So," he began leaning forward, his elbows resting upon the edge of his desk as his maimed digits tented under his chin. "Not only did you get yourself separated from your comrades, but you located a possible candidate for the assignment I provided you and did not think to bring said person back?" Emotion came upon his face, it was annoyance and anger. "I did not send you out into the Rukongai for a picnic, you were there for a very important task, and you didn't even try to do it. Do you have any idea exactly how this bodes on me?! On our Division?! If I cannot make sure my own officers do the duties they are entrusted with, how in the hell am I to expect the same from the other Divisions!" While it was worded like a question, it clearly was not. He was shouting then, but after a breath he paused and calmed down to a more comfortable audio level.
"I cannot believe you would return with such a folly. You have the skill and ability to send word back to us at any time, allowing you to not only keep in touch with us and to continue with the task you were assigned. There is no excuse for your lackluster performance Zane, none whatsoever. As such, you leave me little choice.
"You will be given a new set of orders, simple ones." He clicked his tongue in annoyance and gave his head a shake. "A Tenth seat... To be treated like an unseated officer... Disgraceful." He cupped his hands over his mouth then and gathered the energy required. A black and purple light would eliminate from his hands as he softly whispered into them and a moment later, as his hands unclasped the tiny winged messenger would flutter out into the hall in search of whom it was he was in need of.
"Stay in your seat, your new overseer will be here soon." Yes, yes she would. If anyone knew how to come back from disgrace, it was her.

Zane sat there and waited, staying silent, his face as calm as Malik's was when he was listening to Zane give his speech to him. So.. this what the Soutaichou really thought of him, eh? Zane was not one to let calmer heads prevail and he stood, despite his orders, "Well, Malik, if you knew how to do your damn job in the first place, we wouldn't HAVE to clean up your messes! Yes, I did mess up, but so did you the second you allowed all that shit to happen that you needed us to go handle! Whose fault is it that our relation with the rukons isn't as strong as it should be, Malik?! Cause it certainly is not mine! I will gladly accept what I have done and what I messed up, but I will sit here and idly listen to you flap off about something that shouldn't have needed done in the first place!"
Zane then moved toward the man's desk and slammed his hands on the desk, causing his glass to tip over and spill the remaining splash of water to the man's desk. Zane glared at the man, his eyes filled with anger, "If YOU don't think that I am able to do my job then you can shove it! I hereby resign as the Tenth Seat of the First Division. The reason being that I apparently incapable of doing my damned job!", Zane said as he turned away from the man. This was not an easy choice to make and Zane instantly began to wonder if it was the right one as he began to walk from the man's office.

Chishio was staring at the pile of finished paperwork on her desk when a hell butterfly fluttered through her open door. Reaching out a hand for the messenger to land on, a smirk appearing on her lips. About time. I was just about to head up there anyways. Standing up from her seat, the woman placed a hand on the hilt of her zanpakuto before heading to out the door and towards the stairs, finished paperwork in hand.
Upon making it to her Soutaicho's office, Chishio's eyebrow would raise in curiosity as the tenth-seat left the room, standing to the side to let him through. Once he exited the office, the sixth-seat would make her way to Malik's desk, placing the paper work on his desk, left hand resting on her hip.
"You called for me, Tanaka-chan? I also brought some finished paperwork, thinking why not hit two birds with one stone."

Unlike Zane, this time, he kept his temper in check as he shouted his reply he even went so far as to not flinch when a bit of the man's spittle landed upon his cheek. He had a right to be so defensive and he expected as such, though he could not accept what he was saying. There was some truth to it, but only some. So as he moved toward and out the door, as Chishio entered, Malik stood and pointed a single finger at the man, yellow energy shining around the extended digit. "Bakudo no Rokujuuichi; Rikujoukourou."
While the binding art would not be at it's full strength, it would spring out and surround Zane in an instant before slamming into his abdomen, hoisting him inches from the ground. Perhaps not the best way to stop a person from walking away from you, but it was perhaps the only option the Soutaicho deemed available to him at this time. "Your papers are getting wet." He replied to Chio, before moving around his desk, toward Zane.
"My apologies, Zane-chan." He began, as he crossed the gap between them. "But while you're not wrong, you're not entirely correct and after that little performance you owe me the right to explain why. If you will promise to behave and sit like an adult, I shall release you. If not, you can remain where you are."

Zane was out of the office and part way down the hallway when he heard Malik behind him calling out for a Kidou and one he hadn't familiarized himself with. Well.. now he was! Zane found himself bound by six bands slammed against his mid-section and holding him where he stood. Son of a-! he had thought to himself, but what could he do, "Given the fact you just bound me where I am.. I don't have a choice, now do I?", Zane grumbled.
