People seem to forget that Spiderman is pretty darn smart on his own too. Plus... Spider sense. It rules out almost everything Batman can throw at him without prep time.

Actually, Batman has fought villains with similar powers to Spidy's he is capable of throwing off his super sensitive abilities with one little gizmo in his belt. At which point Spidy would be so out of it, he could just one two him.
This is of course if he deduced what Spider-man's abilities were, and c'mon. He's Batman. Clearly he would.

At which point Spidy would be so out of it, he could just one two him. So we're giving Batman the use of every single gadget he's shown in the comics and supposed to believe that he's just going to be carrying them during an otherwise completely random encounter? Just because the spider sense can be thrown off by certain outputs of energy does not mean Batman can employ his weakness because ''lol, he's Batman.''
Batman gets in Spidey's range only to realize that Spiderman can snap him in half and react at supersonic speeds.

No, I'm just stating that he does carry super sonics on him 95% of the time, and that were he to deduce he could throw Spidy off with them, that he would. As for the whole being snapped in half thing, Bats has gone up against villains and just in general beings faaaaar more powerful than Mr. Parker, which can be said for Spider-man as well of course. If anything were to tip the scale in Batman's favour, it would be his experience, his ability to adapt to any situation and that Spider-man's main weapon, his mouth, wouldn't phase Bats all that much cuz he's faced people who like to talk a whole lot more.

...It begins o-o
Assuming there is prep-time, as far as I know Spderman is a preaty sharp guy, so he could try and counter whatever gadgets Batman might bring to the fight. Prep time is always one of those finicky factors in stuff like this. Reminds me of the video Angry Joe did...but lets stick to one subject at a time.
The main reasons I see this match up as interesting is because Spiderman often times fights people with a lot of tech and gadgets. But Im hard pressed to find any of them having a clear edge.
Edit due to Mal's reply: Spiderman aint a newbie superhero himslef is he now? I cant say experinace favours any of them since both went through preaty hellish fights on thier own right. But a point for Batman for not really reacting to verbal tactics. Thats one edge he has for sure.

Dc wins over marvel imho

Sure, he's gone against more powerful villains. Doesn't change the fact that Spiderman is vastly more powerful than Bats in the strength department; to suggest that Spiderman is going to be taken out by the ole one-two is laughable.
Batman's never shown a gadget capable of nullifying the spider sense. Don't assume he has one because he's fought similar opponents. He's not keeping up with Spiderman's superior speed and agility.
Oh, and if we're giving Batman prep time and knowledge on Spiderman: Spiderman now starts the fight on an X-Jet armed with thermonuclear bombs, wearing his anti-thermonuclear weapon cowboy hat.

Lol, Aki-san. Clearly we are not going to agree. I for one, regardless of my personal fanboyage of the Batman character would lean on DC winning over Marvel any day of the week. Because DC, imho, is better all around.
Now if only the live action movies would start to show it lol

I agreed that Batman could best Spiderman with prep.
I don't agree that he can defeat Spiderman without it. There's no basis behind Batman owning a device that can scramble the spider sense, and Spiderman is still faster by a significant margin.
Don't even know when this became DC vs Marvel in general. I'm not even discussing quality, just combat.

Oh, well then I would agree. Spider-man would break Bruce's face. Snap him in half... Dunno, Bane can't even do it anymore with Bat's armor adjustments and I've seen him lift full on armored cars.
Of course, Bats does always carry knock out gas, and I've seen Spider-man in almost every media fall victim to knock out gas. So, unless he suddenly made his mask more than cloth, that could be a bit of an edge for the caped crusader.

''Snap him in half'' was hyperbole, yeah, but let's give Spidey a break. He can lift armored vehicles as well.
Part of why ''Spiderman vs Batman'' is tough to call is because location and distance are almost never specified -- the former could make or break either combatant, and Spiderman's an intellectual powerhouse as well. He wouldn't rival Reed Richards if he wasn't, so it's hard to see him fall for knockout gas in the open.

Aye, and upon seeing Spider-man's superior agility, chances would be that Batman would try to get him in close quarters to limit his movement. But, that could also back fire huge. Unless he led him into somewhere he knew, which just brings the "Where would they fight" thing into question all the more. It really is a tough call, I'd say they're for the most part pretty equal all things considered.

Nah, I think Mal and I have reached a consensus. Sort of.
I'm still not of the opinion that they're on equal footing if both were to duke it out sans prep, but that's doing Batman's character a disservice and I like picturing Spiderman with an anti-thermonuclear cowboy hat.

That is to be determined by whoever argues what I would imagine. A straight dash would be boring and I don't think would serve either two well. So forgetting my first sentence a very deadly obstacle course, traps set up by both Wile E. Coyote and Dr. Eggman.

Until it rolled over and flattened her.

Sonic would dodge the obstacles, Road Runner would run right through them unscathed.
Also PEACH IS A TOADSTOOL!

Erm.
Only way I can see classic Sonic losing is if there's a segment that requires swimming.

And Aki-san has the right of it!
Mind you, Road Runner can take off at speeds quick enough to make the road leave the ground for a bit, so swimming wouldn't phase him too much either.. Flash worthy shit at that point.

Princess Peach can make explosions with her hips, and her emotions have godly powers. Not exactly a fair match-up.
